Victor glanced toward the camp before turning to Adrian.
"I need a word with you."
Adrian looked up from the fire, where he had been slowly rotating the meat over the flames. A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he rose to his feet.
"Lead the way."
The two men walked several meters away from the camp until they were out of Arabella's sight. The forest was eerily quiet, with only the sound of leaves rustling overhead. Victor stopped once he was certain they were beyond earshot.
Adrian folded his arms, patiently waiting.
Victor studied him for a long moment before speaking.
"I see you're also interested in Arabella."
Adrian raised an eyebrow, a puzzled expression crossing his face.
"I don't quite understand your question."
