Victor's grip tightened until Celine cried out in pain.
"Victor... please!" she gasped, struggling to pull her hands free. "You're hurting me!"
"Not until you answer my question," Victor said coldly. "Tell me the truth."
"I..."
"Answer me!" His voice boomed through the inn, startling everyone present.
Lydia could no longer watch her daughter suffer. She hurried forward and dropped to her knees before Victor, tears already streaming down her face.
"Please let her go," she pleaded desperately. "She didn't do anything wrong. You have Arabella now. Isn't that enough? Forget about us. We will leave. We will never appear before you again."
Victor slowly lowered his gaze to Lydia, his expression completely devoid of sympathy.
"Leave?" he repeated with a scoff."You think I would simply let her leave?"
He pointed at Celine.
