Elara found her footing. She was not one to run simply because someone Lycan was in the surface, in fact, her eyes soon lost the initial fear and were replaced by anger when she remembered what Arabella had said about the king, confirming to the whole kingdom that the King was her mate.
Wasn't that basically the same as saying she was a Moonseer and the King was her mate, so she would be Queen soon?
With that thought fueling her anger, Elara charged forward, wanting to cut Arabella down before she even knew what was happening. But immediately she swung her hand, something strange happened.
It was as though everything slowed down for Arabella. She saw the movement before it happened.
Before Elara's hand could even come down, Arabella moved forward and struck her hard in the stomach. Elara stumbled backward and coughed out blood.
She quickly used the back of her hand to wipe her mouth.
