The click of the door made Vealor know that Elara was gone. He poured himself more liquor and chugged it down, his hand gripping the cup tightly as Elara's words kept replaying in his mind. He tried to push them away, but they continued to haunt him.
He suddenly threw the cup to the floor and stood up, then used his foot to step on it, crushing it beneath his heel. He groaned and huffed as he continued stepping on the broken cup in frustration, his anger growing with every passing second.
"Bitch, you just have to ruin everyone's life like you did Adrian and your father. Every man that comes around you ends up mad!" he screamed.
His breathing was heavy as he stared down at the broken pieces scattered across the floor. Elara's words had struck deeper than he wanted to admit, especially because part of him knew she was right about one thing. He had wanted the throne. He had wanted to take it from Enzo, and he had allowed his desire for power to blind him to everything else.
