Chapter 24 Ning Rongrong Feels Betrayed

Night falls on the Shrek Academy playground.

Everyone has now assembled.

Flanders stood at the front, his face so gloomy it looked like it was about to drip water.

"Ning Rongrong, Oscar."

Flander's voice was cold.

"Have you two finished your twenty laps for today?"

Oscar glanced at Ning Rongrong, whose eyes were red and who had clearly been crying, and felt a pang of pain in his heart. He quickly stepped forward.

"Dean, we've made it past the finish line."

"I'm asking about Ning Rongrong!"

Flander interrupted him, his gaze fixed on Ning Rongrong like that of a hawk.

"Tell me, are you done running?"

Ning Rongrong bit her lip and lowered her head without saying a word.

Did she run? Of course not.

She went for a stroll in the city, but not only did she not have any fun, she was also called "trash," and she was seething with anger.

"Oscar, you tell us."

Flander looked at Oscar.

Oscar said, forcing himself to speak.

"Dean, Rongrong... she finished the race. I ran it with her."

Flanders gave a cold laugh.

"Finished the run? Good, very good. Oscar, you're a true friend."

"Ye Liuyun."

Flander suddenly turned his head and looked at Ye Liuyun, who was standing at the end of the line, idly counting stars.

Ning Rongrong suddenly raised her head, a glimmer of hope flashing in her eyes, and a sense of anticipation rising in her heart.

Although the two had a falling out in the afternoon, and although he had cursed at her, he did eat her food after all, and he even paid back the money.

Besides... and since we're all classmates, he should help cover for her, right?

If he says a word for her, even just a nod, she'll forgive him for scolding her...

Ning Rongrong prayed silently in her heart.

Upon hearing his name, Ye Liuyun withdrew his gaze, glanced at Flander, and then at Ning Rongrong, whose face was filled with tension.

Without any hesitation.

He was too lazy to even think.

"No way."

Ye Liuyun's voice was flat and straightforward.

Boom!

These words struck Ning Rongrong like a bolt from the blue.

The entire place fell silent.

Oscar stared wide-eyed at Ye Liuyun in disbelief.

Brother, why do you always tell the truth?

Can't you help me tell a lie?

Tang San and Xiao Wu were also taken aback.

Although they knew that Ye Liuyun had always been cold and indifferent.

But isn't that a bit too straightforward?

Ning Rongrong's face turned pale instantly, then flushed red—an extreme anger born from betrayal and humiliation.

He... he actually betrayed me!

She was so looking forward to it...

Ye Liuyun! I hate you so much!

Flander looked at Ye Liuyun, a hint of satisfaction flashing in his eyes.

This kid, though a troublemaker, at least doesn't lie.

After all, he had been secretly following Ning Rongrong and knew the whole story.

"Did you hear that?"

Flander turned around, looked at Ning Rongrong and Oscar, and his tone was extremely stern:

"Oscar, because of your lie, the original twenty laps have now become thirty laps! And you are not allowed to use your soul power!"

"Ning Rongrong, you left the team without permission, not only did you fail to complete the mission, but you also made your teammates lie for you. You go run too! You're not allowed to sleep until you finish!"

"I won't run!"

Ning Rongrong finally snapped.

She suddenly raised her head, her beautiful eyes filled with tears and resentment.

She hated Flander's difficult behavior, and even more so Ye Liuyun's heartlessness.

"I'm not staying in this lousy academy anymore! Flanders, who do you think you are? You're just a lowly Soul Saint!"

"And you too! Ye Liuyun!"

Ning Rongrong pointed at Ye Liuyun, her voice sharp and mournful.

"You're a bastard! A complete bastard!"

After yelling that, she turned and ran outside, crying as she ran, looking as miserable as could be.

"Rongrong!"

Seeing this, Oscar disregarded Flander's punishment and quickly chased after her.

"Rongrong, don't cry! I'll run with you! I'll stay with you!"

Only Ye Liuyun and a few others remained on the playground.

Ye Liuyun watched the two figures disappear into the distance.

Sincere?

They've only known each other for a day; how could they possibly have any genuine feelings for each other?

It was nothing more than his deliberate approach and the fantasies of an innocent young girl.

"Alright, the farce is over."

Flander waved his hand, looking at the remaining few people.

"You guys, come with me to the Great Soul Arena."

"Today is your first lesson, and also your most important lesson."

"Real combat."

Soto Great Soul Arena.

The enormous building resembled a sleeping behemoth, brightly lit and bustling with activity.

Flander stood before the crowd and explained the rules of the Great Soul Arena.

Here, the fighting spirit is divided into three categories. One is the game, which is mutual sparring, and killing is prohibited.

Another type is a life-or-death struggle, used to resolve irreconcilable disputes.

The last type is a wager, with the Great Soul Arena as the referee. Both sides send out an equal number of Soul Masters to compete, and the final winner gets everything stipulated in the wager.

A duel is, first and foremost, a fight to the death. Many nobles and clans would often resort to this method when there were major conflicts between them.

There are three types of competitions: one-on-one, two-on-two, and group battles.

The number of participants in a group battle is negotiated and stipulated, and according to the rules of the Great Soul Arena, it is generally limited to seven to ten people.

Registering for the Soul Battle here is very simple; you only need to fill out a form that includes your name, age, place of birth, and martial soul.

You can then receive the initial Iron Soul Badge. Of course, registration also requires each person to pay ten gold coins as a registration fee.

"This is the best place to test your strength. Only in a life-or-death struggle can you unleash your potential."

"The Great Fighting Spirit is only allowed to participate in one match per day, but can participate in different types of matches at the same time. For example, one-on-one, two-on-two."

"One of the graduation requirements of Shrek Academy is to obtain the Silver Battle Soul Medal."

"If you want to graduate sooner, fight hard!"

Tang San naturally wanted to team up with Xiao Wu.

But before he could even speak, Xiao Wu had already taken Ye Liuyun's arm.

"I want to be in a group with my cousin!"

Flanders frowned.

"Xiao Wu, you are a level 29 Great Soul Master, and Ye Liuyun is a level 34 Soul Elder. According to the rules of the Soul Arena, if you team up, you must participate in a two-on-two battle between Soul Elders of level 30 or above."

"This is too dangerous for you."

Tang San also stepped forward to offer his advice.

"Yes, Xiao Wu, taking on a challenge beyond your level is no child's play. Our group is the safest bet."

Xiao Wu, however, didn't seem to care. She looked up at Ye Liuyun and blinked her big eyes.

"With my cousin here, what's there to be afraid of? Long live my cousin!"

Ye Liuyun put his hands in his pockets, looked at Xiao Wu's expectant eyes, and then glanced at Tang San, who had a gloomy look in his eyes.

He just thought it was too much trouble and shrugged.

"It doesn't matter, I'm fine with anything."
