Chapter 33 - Stage

"Chaos? You really have the nerve to say that word out loud."

Raziel wasn't particularly keen on meeting Yuki. His capable lieutenant, Ade, had warned him that this man who had suddenly appeared and seized immense power was extremely dangerous. Raziel hated being talked to in such a way, but Ade was different. Since their days as low-level thugs, Ade had followed him loyally. Even when Raziel's mind was clouded by chemical stimulants, his physiological instincts stayed his hand from ever harming Ade.

"It's not exactly a secret, is it? Raziel, you're no idiot. The existence of such a thing threatens us all."

"Don't talk to me as if I'm the newcomer," Raziel muttered, then grumbled, "If there's a real risk of Chaos corruption, aren't the Ecclesiarchy lot more likely? The number of corpses they hang in their cathedrals is more than I kill in a year."

Complaints aside, the survival instincts Raziel had honed in the Hive City told him something was off. Again, Chaos in the Underhive wasn't strange, but Chaos being noticed was very strange indeed. He was destined to be nothing more than an Underhive gang lord his entire life, but even he had heard the terrifying legends.

"I'll help, but I'll only do what I can. Don't go expecting us to find anything."

"If you're willing to let me lend a hand, the harvest will be quite significant," Yuki offered.

"Don't go breaking the rules, Yuki. The Underhive has its customs. If you want to stick your nose into my turf, you might as well just declare war."

"Hahaha, I'm just joking."

Raziel's expression became deathly serious. In that instant, he seemed to return to his prime—the days before the drugs, when his gaze was sharp and his mind clear. "You're not joking, Yuki. You're constantly thinking about how to swallow my strength and my territory. You're a man who can never be fed."

Yuki's smile gradually faded. "Interesting. To think you'd say that."

"I saw it the first time I met you, Yuki. Watch out—your woman is even hungrier than you are."

"You have that much foresight? I'll have to look at you in a new light."

Just as he was about to leave, Raziel added one last thing: "If you're going to investigate, you'd best check the gangs other than mine and Iron Face's. Both of us are... relatively decent."

Iron Face?

Sensing Yuki's confusion, Raziel added, "That woman who likes wearing the mask. You should have seen her."

Three days later, Yuki, Ilia, and Eleven appeared in the territory of another gang.

Yuno had been busy with something extremely important lately. She hadn't been awake much these past few days, and even when she wasn't sleeping, she seemed dazed and muddled. It wasn't until he left his own territory that Yuki realized his area was actually considered a "livable zone" by Underhive standards.

In a journey of just a few hundred meters, Yuki had already counted seventy-two corpses and witnessed thirteen public acts of copulation, where it was difficult to discern the number of people or their genders. Even more bizarrely, there were some who were eating each other while engaged in the act.

Even Ilia, the conjoined twin, found it hard to stomach. She complained to Yuki, "Boss, is this place a bit... unsuitable for us?"

"This place is unsuitable for anyone."

Yuki really wanted to vent. With the Underhive in this state, he probably wouldn't be able to adapt even if he stayed here for a hundred years.

The thing about Chaos traces is that they are both easy and difficult to find. The Underhive is essentially a giant petri dish for any Chaos cult or Xenos species. If one is willing to spend a little time looking, they can find all sorts of believers. However, these believers are mostly insignificant small-fry. Many spend their entire lives without ever truly receiving the "blessings" of Chaos, only to die miserably.

The trio had no leads for a while. Everyone said this place was chaotic, but when chaos reaches a certain level, it makes it impossible to know where to start. They spent over a dozen hours wandering around, witnessing various "extreme acts." Yuki was amazed at how marvelous the human body could be. For instance, there was a mad cultist who, in order to imitate the Emperor sacrificing His life for humanity, was playing a "game" of sawing off his own leg in the street. Then he saw a large group of people surrounding a piece of steel to train their... uh, genetic material launchers?

Damn, was the territory I took over too normal?

By nightfall, they hadn't expected to find their target so quickly, so they decided to stay the night. Even in the Underhive, there were places for temporary visitors to lodge. Of course, such places were usually teeming with "hard cases" and extreme behavior. When Yuki saw a small business card written in Low Gothic tucked into the door crack, he almost lost it. Business cards for "services" he hadn't even seen before his transmigration were actually part of the Warhammer world.

Ilia and her brother stayed in one room, while Eleven stayed with Yuki. Yuki naturally had no interest in such things; currently, Yuno was the most beautiful existence in this place. If he had any ideas, she was more than enough. Tearing the paper up, he went to bed.

Theoretically, Yuki didn't need sleep. He could remain awake and active for long periods. However, entering a sleep state by shutting down cognitive functions enhanced the body's repair and self-strengthening capabilities. Unless necessary, Yuki still chose to sleep.

It started with a rustling sound, followed by a faint purple glow. A flickering figure appeared, crawling onto Yuki's body. Its long, slender tongue attempted to lick him, but lacking a physical form in the real world, it failed.

Suddenly, Eleven activated her psychic power, forcibly suppressing the intruder. Yuki woke up as well. He reached out to grab the enemy, but caught only air.

The intruder was a Warp entity!

Realizing this, Yuki expanded his psychic field, completely sealing the room's connection to other spaces.

"Hehehe, little brother, your scent is very interesting."

"What are you?"

A Warp Daemon needs a physical vessel to act in reality. Until it manifested, Yuki couldn't confirm its identity.

"Come, look at my body. Will you be interested in it?"

A grotesque form appeared before Yuki. Its skin was deathly pale, covered in perforated iron rings. Its face lacked eyes, replaced by four bloody holes. Its skin was distorted, yet the smooth parts were exceptionally sleek. It swayed its hips, its movements remarkably elegant despite its horrific appearance.

Yuki was stunned. He had once been seduced by the "Voice of the Warp," but this was his first time seeing a true Warp Daemon.

"Human, perhaps you have heard my name. I am an envoy of pleasure and joy. I am a handmaiden of the Prince of Pleasure. I see the unease and confusion in your heart. Come, only pleasure can set us free from this pain."

A Succubus? A quintessential part of the Warhammer experience.

Yuki was extremely wary. Warp Daemons are seducers, corrupters, and the enemies of all life.

"Heeheehee, come... come..."

Accompanied by a strange fragrance, Eleven's gaze became dazed, and she began to remove her clothes. The Succubus opened its arms to Yuki. "Come, let's be together. The joy of three is far more precious than the joy of two."

"Uh, excuse me for asking... if we two were to do it, who would be the 'attacker'?"

The Succubus proudly thrust its lower body forward. "I would, of course."

Damn it. Truly, this is Warhammer.
