Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Haku, you don't want anything to happen to Zabuza either...

Looking at the massive ice mirrors surrounding her, although she had anticipated it somewhat and knew her technique would end up benefiting the opponent, when it actually happened, Furina still felt quite embarrassed.

After all, usually she was the one who took advantage of others; this time, she was the one being taken advantage of. Even if it was just with ninjutsu, she was still very unhappy about it.

"That's right. Without the technique you used earlier, my jutsu wouldn't have this level of power now it's even a bit beyond my expectations. Be careful; I'm going to go all out next."

As soon as the words fell, Haku's figure appeared in every ice mirror around them, each one looking exactly like the real body. Countless senbon shot toward Furina simultaneously from all directions.

"Looks pretty flashy, huh."

Facing this attack, Furina summoned a shadow clone to use the same old trick having it perform Water Vortex to block the assault. Meanwhile, her own hands didn't stop moving, and as she formed hand seals, she didn't forget to remind him with her mouth.

"Watch out I've got a pretty powerful ninjutsu too."

As someone who values propriety, since Haku had taken the time to warn her during battle, Furina naturally wouldn't forget to warn him in return. This is what a gentleman's friendship looks like.

"Water Release: Water Severing Wave!"

After warning Haku, an ultra-high-pressure water jet burst from Furina's mouth. The water column pierced straight through the water vortex and, in an instant, struck the ice mirror opposite her, punching a clean hole right through it.

She didn't stop after piercing one the water column continued sweeping sideways until it had sliced all the surrounding ice crystals in half, only then ending the technique.

As for why she used Water Severing Wave, the advanced Water Release technique created by the Second Hokage, of course it was because she had taught herself.

With Tobirama having paved the way before her, and knowing the general principles of the ninjutsu, she could naturally learn it. After all, her Water Release talent wasn't just for show.

"Huff... huff..."

After all the ice mirrors shattered, Haku's figure reappeared. At this moment, he was panting heavily, clearly under immense pressure from the Water Severing Wave just now.

"If she hadn't warned me earlier, I probably would have..."

Just as Haku felt a lingering fear, the mask on his face with its huge scratch finally could no longer hold up and shattered. The Water Severing Wave had just grazed past his mask earlier; without that warning, this mask might very well have been his fate.

"Yo, so now should I call you Mask Bro, or Beauty Bro? By the way, are you a guy or a girl? Is your voice just a disguise?"

Seeing Haku's stunning face revealed after the mask fell, Furina couldn't help but ask the question that so many Naruto fans wanted to know.

"Sorry, but I'm actually a guy. My name is Haku. Those nicknames of yours... let's skip them."

After politely answering Furina's question, looking at how composed she remained, Haku couldn't help feeling a bit dejected inside.

This counted as his failure, right? Even with the advantage of terrain, he still wasn't her match. And Zabuza-sama had no need for a failed tool. So what meaning was left in him continuing to live?

"In that case, then..."

Seeing Furina's expression turn somewhat bitter after hearing his answer, Haku made up his mind.

It was time for this failed tool to come to an end. Dying at the hands of this pretty young lady wouldn't be such a bad outcome.

"What? You want to die just like that? Why bother? In your current state, you could keep fighting me for a while longer without any issue. Plus, your companion is still fighting over there. Isn't it kind of lame to just give up and wait for death here?"

Hearing Haku's request for her to kill him, Furina couldn't help feeling speechless. Although she knew that if he lost, he might pull something like this, it was way too quick.

She had just leveled up before the fight and was ready to go all out yet now he suddenly didn't want to fight anymore. It left her feeling like she had all this power but nowhere to use it.

"No need. If you hadn't warned me just now, I would probably already be dead. I can sense the gap between us. And I'm not Zabuza-sama's companion I'm just his tool..."

When Haku heard Furina call him Zabuza's companion, his eyes clearly lit up for a moment, but they quickly dimmed again. Then he began recounting his past history with Zabuza, hoping to convince Furina to finish him off decisively.

"Tch~" However, after listening to his story, Furina clearly remained unmoved. Putting aside the fact that she knew the real feelings Zabuza and Haku had for each other, even if she didn't know, she wouldn't approve of such a thing.

"Isn't it possible that relationships between people aren't decided just by what they're called? Maybe he calls you a tool, but deep down he still sees you as a companion he's just too embarrassed to say it out loud. Forget everything else; even from the story you just told, I could tell he cares about you."

"Is that really true?" Hearing this, Haku couldn't help but recall his past interactions with Zabuza. After Furina's reminder, he realized it really did seem to be just as she said.

Seeing that Haku had been convinced, Furina didn't stop her output. She believed her next words would definitely dispel his suicidal thoughts.

"See? I was right. And Haku, you haven't thought about one thing: right now, Kakashi-sensei is fighting Zabuza. If you die, I'll definitely rush over there immediately. Then naturally it'll be me and Kakashi-sensei teaming up against Zabuza. You probably don't want him to get double-teamed by us two, right? You already know how strong I am."

Haku had originally thought Furina would say something like before to persuade him not to seek death, but he never expected her to come out with such an abstract speech.

And he had to admit Furina's somewhat absurd words were actually very effective. At the very least, he no longer wanted to die. At minimum, he had to hold her back to prevent her from going to gang up on Zabuza-sama.

"Do you still want to keep fighting? Forget it. After hearing your past just now, I don't feel like fighting you anymore. Of course, if you insist on continuing, I can still oblige."

"Then what do you want?"

Seeing that Furina no longer had any desire to keep fighting, Haku didn't want to press the attack either. After all, she had just talked him through his feelings if not for Zabuza-sama, he wouldn't want to cross blades with her anyway.

"There we go that's more like it. Why fight to the death? I have a fun... cough cough I mean, a suggestion. You're still doubtful about whether Zabuza really sees you as a companion, right?

Then why not test it? Later I'll go over there and trick him into thinking I killed you, and we'll see how he reacts. His reaction after learning you're dead will definitely be the most genuine. How about it? How about it?"
