Chapter 150 - Chapter 150 Shippuden Begins

Konoha Village

"Yo, you're finally back. Lady Tsunade has been mentioning you a lot lately. She said that once you return, she definitely has to take good care of you to heal all the suffering and hardship you've endured out there."

Before even reaching Konoha, from quite a distance, Furina spotted a striking head of white hair at the gate—it was Kakashi.

Not only did the other party not bring her any good news, but he even had a gloating look on his face. Seriously, he had zero awareness of how a teacher should behave.

She remembered that in the original story, after Naruto returned to the village in Shippuden, Kakashi seemed to have played the bell-grabbing game again with the remaining two members of Team 7, Sakura and Naruto, under the pretext of testing their progress.

And now, shouldn't she do something similar? After all, it had been so long since they last met—Kakashi-sensei must also want to know how much his prized disciple had improved. Yes, that had to be it.

"Ahem, speaking of which, I did expect Lady Hikari and Princess Shion to return with you, but this one—I remember her name is Fū, right? How did the jinchūriki from the Hidden Waterfall Village end up coming along too?"

While Furina was inwardly calculating how to "repay" Kakashi, Kakashi seemed to sense something and quickly changed the subject after feeling the situation was a bit off.

In fact, he had noticed Fū from the very beginning. During the previous mission to the Hidden Waterfall Village, he had also learned her true identity—the Seven-Tails jinchūriki, which made her an important figure.

Everyone in the ninja world knew the role of tailed beasts, and they were now the Akatsuki organization's top priority targets. Even setting that aside, if a tailed beast went out of control right now, given their destructive power, it would inevitably cause considerable casualties.

But if that was the case, why hadn't Kakashi paid too much attention to Fū at first? Because he knew Furina wouldn't do anything without certainty, and he also understood the other's strength.

Even if a tailed beast rampage really happened, with his coordination with Furina, subduing a Seven-Tails shouldn't be any issue—they would definitely dominate effortlessly.

"You mean Fū? It looks like you two already know each other, so I'll let Fū explain it to you herself. We can talk about other things later."

"Uh, alright."

With that said, Kakashi also realized his attempt to divert attention was doomed, so he simply got straight to business with Fū. Although he knew there wouldn't be any problem with her coming to Konoha, some things still needed to be asked.

Combined with Furina's unreliable personality, he figured the follow-up report to Tsunade would probably fall on him too. Sigh, what a troublesome job.

"Yo, everyone's here. Are you all welcoming us back? Hahaha, no need, no need. Gotta say, you guys are way too polite."

Just as Kakashi was sighing, another somewhat frivolous voice came from behind. Everyone turned around at the sound—yep, one blond and one white-haired; no need to guess who they were.

The instant she saw Naruto's figure, Furina suddenly felt something. Sure enough, the projection in her mind that had been stagnant for so long finally showed a change.

And right in the center of the screen, in the most prominent position, the three big characters "Shippuden" appeared. Then the screen began to play in the form of a recap, quickly running through everyone's experiences during this period in the simplest way.

However, the main focus was still on Furina, Naruto, and Sasuke. The others who got a bit more screen time were Kakashi as Team 7's teacher, and Gai, who had fought Mōryō alongside them, and so on.

After that, it seemed the others had nothing worth recording; they just made brief appearances, and that counted as the end of their experiences during this time.
