Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: Red Dragon Equipment

The next day, while Dan Feng and Roxy Migurdia were enjoying a rare meal at a restaurant in Roa, they unexpectedly overheard several adventurers discussing something.

The gist was that Boreas had acquired several pieces of equipment made from a Red Dragon.

It was said that some time ago, a group of adventurers had slain a lone juvenile Red Dragon, and the materials from the Red Dragon's body were then crafted into various pieces of equipment.

Afterward, Boreas had someone in the Duchy of Nerris turn these pieces into magic tools.

They were subsequently placed on sale in the equipment shop under Boreas's name.

"Equipment made into magic tools from Red Dragon materials?" Roxy Migurdia was somewhat shocked. She had personally witnessed the terrifying power of a Red Dragon.

It was said that unless a magician had Emperor-level strength, it would be impossible to kill one.

Yet now, a Red Dragon had been turned into several pieces of equipment.

Dan Feng felt that equipment from a juvenile Red Dragon probably wasn't all that powerful. After all, the Cloud-Piercer in his hand could be considered god-tier.

"What? Do you want to go take a look?" Dan Feng swallowed his food and asked Roxy Migurdia.

"I do want to see it. After all, that Red Dragon we encountered under the Red Dragon Lower Jaw looked absolutely terrifying." The mere thought of it sent a shiver through Roxy Migurdia. Dan Feng had stayed behind alone to hold it off, facing that fearsome Red Dragon, and fortunately he had survived.

If she hadn't left back then, she might have distracted him, and as a Water Upper-rank magician, she had no ability to break through the Red Dragon's defenses.

"Alright, I want to see it too."

No sooner said than done—after finishing their meal, Dan Feng and Roxy Migurdia left the restaurant.

Although they didn't know the exact location, the adventurers on the road were all heading in one direction, so that must be where the Red Dragon equipment was being sold.

Thus, Dan Feng and Roxy Migurdia followed the crowd and arrived in front of a shop.

On the wide street, there was only one vendor—because this entire street had been temporarily requisitioned by Boreas.

After all, it was his territory; casually occupying a street was effortless for him.

Moreover, the people coming to see this Red Dragon equipment were almost exclusively adventurers.

Ordinary people had no use for such equipment and, apart from traveling merchants, could hardly afford it anyway.

Dan Feng and Roxy Migurdia blended into the crowd—they too wanted to see if anyone would actually buy it.

Soon, the shop clerk scanned the surroundings and saw adventurers of all kinds packed tightly around. Some were whispering about what kind of equipment it was, while others stared at him with eager anticipation.

The clerk took a deep breath, cleared his throat, and shouted loudly, "I assume everyone has already heard that our lord had several pieces of Red Dragon equipment crafted?"

He stood at the shop entrance, his voice echoing down the street.

The adventurers all turned their gazes toward him, and the previously noisy street gradually fell silent.

Next, the clerk turned his attention inside the shop. The other staff members carefully carried out several crimson pieces of equipment.

Under the sunlight, these items shimmered with a faint glow, as if still exuding the aura of a Red Dragon.

Upon closer inspection, most of the equipment appeared designed for warriors: light armor, heavy armor, shields, battle boots, and so on. Each piece looked exceptionally sturdy and heavy.

The clerk picked up a piece of Red Dragon light armor and tapped it lightly with his finger. A crisp clang-clang rang out, as if demonstrating the quality and durability of the gear.

"The materials from a Red Dragon are incredibly tough. Naturally, armor crafted from them is virtually indestructible," the clerk continued, his tone brimming with confidence and heightening everyone's anticipation for the Red Dragon equipment.

Moreover, the clerk particularly emphasized the Red Dragon's resistance to fire magic.

He explained, "Red Dragons have extremely high resistance to fire magic—almost to the point of being immune to it." This meant that when a swordsman wore such armor, they could more easily close the distance on powerful magicians.

And for magicians who specialized in fire magic, a swordsman clad in this equipment would be a particularly troublesome opponent.

Once a swordsman successfully got close to a magician, no matter what rank the magician was, they could be easily cut down by the swordsman.

This was a widely accepted theory and one of the main reasons Red Dragon equipment attracted so much attention.

"How can you be sure these are that tough? Why not let someone here test it?" someone shouted, stirring up trouble.

The clerk nodded and agreed to the suggestion.

This had been the lord's explicit instruction. He had anticipated that people would doubt the equipment's effectiveness, so conducting an on-site test was the wisest choice.

Besides, these pieces were already magic tools, so their effect was enhanced durability.

"Very well then. Who would like to come up and test it?" the clerk asked the crowd of adventurers.

Immediately, several people volunteered and stepped forward to the Red Dragon equipment.

First, they tested the hardness by striking it with their own weapons.

Since most adventurers present were swordsmen, their weapons were naturally long swords. They hacked away at the Red Dragon equipment, but it remained completely unscathed.

Afterward, these adventurers quietly stepped back down.

Seeing this, the clerk continued inviting more adventurers to come up and test.

"Dan Feng, want to give it a try?" Roxy Migurdia asked Dan Feng.

Dan Feng nodded. He too felt a slight curiosity about the Red Dragon equipment.

Back then, he had simply crushed the Red Dragon with imaginary energy, so he hadn't really felt how tough it was. Cloud-Piercer had sliced through it easily. He wondered just how durable this Red Dragon equipment truly was.

As the latest group of adventurers returned to the crowd, Dan Feng and Roxy Migurdia slowly stepped forward.

The clerk glanced at the petite Roxy Migurdia and didn't pay her much attention. He simply waved casually, signaling that they could begin the demonstration.

Roxy Migurdia took a deep breath, then softly chanted, "The tiny spark shall burn the vast favor to ashes! [Fireball]!"

Before her words even finished, a blazing arrow of flame erupted from her hand and surged toward the Red Dragon equipment.

However, Dan Feng and Roxy Migurdia had no intention of exposing their Chantless Magic Skills in front of such a large crowd.

They knew doing so could bring unnecessary trouble—after all, very few people in this world even knew about this technique.

In fact, when Bloody Kant first heard that Roxy Migurdia and Dan Feng could cast magic without chanting, she had been utterly stunned.

She said that in this world, aside from the two of them, no one else could perform Chantless Magic—at least, in all her worldwide travels, she had never seen it before.

Dan Feng had once explained the Chantless Magic technique to Bloody Kant, but although she could simplify chants, she had never been able to truly grasp the essence of chantless casting like Roxy Migurdia.

Therefore, Bloody Kant had suggested that after arriving at Ranoa Magic University, Dan Feng and Roxy Migurdia should write a paper on Chantless Magic Skills and publish it upon graduation.

Once this technique spread, magicians across the entire world would go mad for it.
