Chapter 103 - Chapter 103: Magic Test

A week passed quickly under the diligent training of the many students.

Today was the magic test for this semester at Ranoa Magic University.

Of course, it was conducted by class, so it definitely couldn't be completed in a single day.

Today, Dan Feng and Roxy set foot in their own classroom for the first time. Because they were special students, they had never attended before, and their classmates were extremely curious about the pair—after all, this was the first time anyone had seen people who skipped class every single day.

Dan Feng and Roxy found their assigned class and casually walked in.

The entire class was waiting for their teacher, but when they saw two unfamiliar people enter, someone stepped forward and asked, "You two, did you come to the wrong classroom?"

Dan Feng shook his head upon hearing this, indicating that he and Roxy had not made a mistake, then walked past the student toward two empty seats at the back.

These seats were right next to the window, where the cold wind blew directly in, which was why no one wanted to sit there.

But Dan Feng liked this relatively quiet spot, so he pulled Roxy along and sat down.

"Dan Feng, won't it be cold sitting here?" Roxy asked with concern, looking at Dan Feng, who was blocking all the cold wind by the window.

"The chill of the snow mountains cannot affect me, so naturally I won't feel cold here," Dan Feng said faintly while gazing out the window. But he quickly realized and promptly closed the window.

He might not feel cold, but that didn't mean Roxy wouldn't, so it was better to close it.

Seeing this, Roxy felt a warmth in her heart. Dan Feng had said he wasn't cold, yet he immediately closed the window anyway—he must have been worried about her getting chilled.

While Roxy began to daydream, the class erupted into an intense discussion about Dan Feng and Roxy.

"Those two aren't the ones who've been skipping class all the time—Dan Feng and Roxy Migurdia, right? I think that blue-haired demon girl looks like she's from the Migurd race."

"That must be them. But have you noticed? That guy seems to be the Cold Dragon Young!" one girl immediately gushed with infatuation.

When Dan Feng had defeated Bestofin, his feats had spread far and wide. However, no one had circulated his name—only his appearance was described.

Black hair, teal-green eyes, aloof demeanor—these were the characteristics of the Cold Dragon Young.

"Now that you mention it, it really does seem like him! He's the one who stood alone in the arena and no one dared to challenge—the Cold Dragon Young!"

"No way! He's only a first-year? I thought he was some senior coming to mess with us."

"Yeah, it's unbelievable!"

Since everyone had started discussing, time began to accelerate!

Soon, the teacher in charge of magic for this class arrived. He first looked over the students from the podium, and his gaze immediately landed on the conspicuous Dan Feng.

"Huh? Was this student here before?" the magic teacher wondered to himself. Then he quickly recalled that this class apparently had two special students, so these extra two must be them.

He knew special students didn't have to attend classes, so the two of them were here today to take the magic test.

"Even the special students have to participate in this magic test. So everyone is afraid of failing and getting expelled from the school?" the teacher thought with a chuckle. Then he cleared his throat lightly.

The classroom quickly fell silent at the sound, and Dan Feng and Roxy's attention was drawn to the teacher.

"Alright, next we'll head to the magic training field to test whether your magic qualifies. You only need to learn and perform one elementary attack spell from each type to pass," the teacher announced from the podium, then walked toward the door.

Seeing this, the students stood up one after another and followed the teacher.

"Let's go, Dan Feng," Roxy said, motioning to him.

Dan Feng nodded, and together with Roxy, they followed the class.

Before long, they arrived at the magic training field—the very place where Dan Feng and Roxy had taken their entrance exam.

Since another class had just left, the training field now contained only their class.

The magic teacher walked unhurriedly to the center of the field and placed a pile of anti-magic brick targets on the ground.

These targets looked extremely sturdy, seemingly capable of withstanding considerable magical impact.

Once everything was ready, the teacher signaled for the entire class to begin the test.

The first to step forward was a bespectacled girl who gave the impression of someone who would tattle behind people's backs.

She held a beginner's staff confidently, stood in place, and slowly began chanting the incantation.

As time passed, her chanting grew louder. After continuing for about a few seconds, a small fireball suddenly burst from the magic stone at the tip of her staff.

The fireball wasn't large, but it emitted a faint glow.

It flew out lightly and gently struck the target before vanishing in an instant.

Although the spell's power wasn't very strong, she had successfully cast it, which was quite impressive for a beginner.

Next, the girl went on to release several other elementary spells, such as creating a light breeze or producing a stream of water.

However, these spells were all quite weak and didn't leave much of an impression.

Even so, the teacher gave her performance a passing mark and judged her to have passed the test.

After all, successfully casting magic meant she had already grasped the basics of incantation-based magic.

"Wow, did you see that? Kurashi actually passed—it's unbelievable!" one boy shouted in astonishment to the person next to him.

"Yeah, it's really surprising," another chimed in. "Someone as nosy as her should have been kicked out of the student council ages ago!"

Kurashi indeed had a poor reputation in the class. She loved meddling in other people's business and frequently mocked others, earning her low regard from her classmates.

What made people even angrier was that she had apparently gotten into the student council through connections.

It was said that a senior student council member had recruited her, so she relied on her student council status to act arrogantly in class.

When Kurashi saw that she had passed, a confident smile spread across her face.

She smugly glanced back at the many students behind her, then strutted off to the side with an air of utter arrogance.

However, most of the class remained indifferent to her performance—some even looked at her as if she were a fool.

After all, everyone knew her true level. Though she had passed the exam, her actual performance was nothing special.

In the following tests, the other students performed relatively steadily, similar to Kurashi's level.

However, some classmates excelled more in certain spells, while Kurashi appeared mediocre across all of them.

Elementary spells struck the anti-magic targets one after another, leaving not a single mark on their surfaces.
