Chapter 156 - Chapter 156: Roxy’s Parents

At that moment, the tall and powerfully built Superd was standing at the entrance, conversing with a short-haired water-blue boy.

"Ruijerd, didn't you go to other places to search for your tribespeople? Why have you come back here again?" Rowin asked in confusion as he looked at the massive Superd before him.

After all, when Ruijerd had first come here, Rowin and the rest of their tribe had been filled with fear and wariness toward him.

In people's minds, the Superd race had always been associated with frenzied slaughter.

Fortunately, after a conversation between the village chief and him, everyone learned that he bore no malice—he simply wanted to find his scattered tribespeople.

Facing Rowin's question, Ruijerd's expression grew somewhat grave. He slowly answered, "Yes, I had indeed reached Rikarisu Town before, but the people there attacked me. So I thought that place probably wouldn't have any of my tribespeople either."

With that, Ruijerd paused briefly, then pointed to the enormous turtle-like magic beast beside him and continued, "This Great King Land Turtle—I brought it here specially for you all. Please help call the village chief out."

Seeing this, Rowin quickly nodded. "Yes, of course. That was my intention as well."

Then he closed his eyes, seemingly contacting the village chief through some means.

When Roxy saw the green-haired Superd standing at the entrance of her own tribe's village, she was utterly shocked.

Then, noticing the boy standing at the gate, she rushed toward the village entrance without a second thought.

Although Dan Feng had carefully analyzed that this Superd bore no malice toward those adventurers.

But she didn't dare take the gamble—because the one standing at the gate right now was her father—Rowin Migurdia.

As she ran, she pulled her staff out from her scroll and prepared to chant magic to attack the Superd.

Ruijerd suddenly sensed killing intent, but in the blink of an eye, his figure instantly appeared in front of Roxy.

Ruijerd's form flashed before Roxy, then he stared straight at her. His gaze looked somewhat fierce, but more than that, it was filled with confusion.

He couldn't understand why this Migurd was showing hostility toward him—he had clearly already established good relations with the Migurd.

Right now she paid no attention to her own fear of the Superd race and prepared to release magic point-blank.

At that moment, Dan Feng grabbed the magic stone on Roxy's staff, preventing her from casting magic at the Superd before them.

"Wait, Roxy," Dan Feng said calmly. He swiftly moved his body to stand between Roxy and Ruijerd, separating the two.

If a real conflict broke out, this way he could protect Roxy to the greatest extent and ensure she suffered no harm.

Dan Feng's gaze fixed firmly on Ruijerd, calm and steady.

"Superd! What are you trying to do to my father?" Roxy stood behind Dan Feng. Though she had originally been somewhat afraid, seeing Dan Feng's actions filled her heart with courage.

She straightened her posture, put on a fearless expression, and stared directly at Ruijerd as she questioned his intentions.

Hearing Roxy's question, Ruijerd couldn't help feeling bewildered.

He glanced back at the massive Great King Land Turtle behind him—he didn't understand what this had to do with harming anyone.

He had simply wanted to deliver the meat to the Migurd as thanks for their earlier hospitality. Could even that cause a misunderstanding?

Dan Feng thought to himself: "That boy is Roxy's father?" The thought flashed through his mind, but he quickly realized now was not the time to dwell on it.

He needed to defuse the tense situation first.

"Sorry, Mr. Superd," Dan Feng said expressionlessly. "Roxy was just worried that you might do something to harm others."

"After all, the reputation of the Superd race is far too striking. People often harbor misunderstandings and prejudices toward you."

Although Dan Feng's words were polite, their meaning was clear.

He was implying to Ruijerd that because of the Superd race's infamous reputation, Roxy had become wary of him and thus questioned him so sharply.

"Roxy?!" At that moment, Rowin—who had just finished using telepathy—opened his eyes and immediately saw Ruijerd, Dan Feng, and his daughter Roxy Migurdia, who had been away from home for many years!

Seeing this, he rushed over without hesitation. His voice gradually turned incredulous: "Roxy! It really is you! Thank goodness—you've finally come back!"

Even in his excitement, he didn't forget to use telepathy to inform his wife at home that their daughter had returned!

Then he hurriedly pushed aside both Ruijerd and Dan Feng, ran straight to Roxy, and tightly embraced her, as if afraid she would run away again.

At home, Rokari was stunned when she received the message. She immediately set down what she was doing and rushed quickly toward the village entrance.

"Yes, I know, but I have no hostility. I only came to deliver meat," Ruijerd said as he watched the heartwarming scene of Rowin hugging Roxy, then turned to Dan Feng.

At that moment, after running all the way, Rokari finally arrived at the village entrance.

She completely ignored Dan Feng and Ruijerd standing nearby. Just like Rowin, she embraced the somewhat bewildered Roxy.

"So it's Rowin's daughter who's been away from home for so many years? Now it all makes sense," Ruijerd said as he watched this beautiful moment of family reunion, a trace of sadness rising in his heart.

"Roxy, both your mother and I missed you so much. You've finally come back to see us," Rowin said with a choked voice, looking as though tears might fall at any moment.

"Roxy, wuwuwu, we finally see you again," Rokari was already crying while holding Roxy. Her sobs carried a mother's longing for her child.

After all, Roxy had been gone for more than ten years. During those ten-plus years, Rowin and Rokari had never once received any news of Roxy. They could only hope that she would one day return to see them.

Hearing his wife's cries, Rowin could no longer hold back and began crying as well.

"Father… Mother…" Roxy looked at the two faces shedding tears onto her, her heart now filled with sadness. She too joined in the crying.

Although she had been unable to use telepathy since childhood, once her parents learned of this, they hurriedly taught themselves the Demon God Language and then taught Roxy to speak it.

They also feared that young Roxy wouldn't be able to accept being different from the other tribespeople, so they kept her from interacting with others.

But all of this came from the love the two had for Roxy—they didn't want to see her sad.

Later, Roxy gradually came to understand everything her parents had done. She never resented them—she simply wanted to escape this village where she felt so out of place.

At this moment, three people of nearly the same height held each other and cried. This was the crying of a family reunited, filled with longing for one another.
