Tsunade's trio and Akimichi Genbu's side were locked in fierce battles, while Genbu himself was still being relentlessly pursued.

He evaded multiple jōnin techniques and, in the blink of an eye, appeared before the leading chūnin. Before the man could react, his heart was pierced straight through.
The chūnin behind him immediately retreated, but the moment he jumped back, Genbu formed a seal with one hand and activated Double Transformation Technique. The arm that had pierced his teammate suddenly extended at terrifying speed, sending chills down his spine.
Two other ninja moved to attack the extended arm, but Genbu released Twin Blade Technique, leaving them with nothing to strike.
At the same time, he summoned a large number of kunai from the seal on his left arm and fired them at the remaining four chūnin. At such close range, they had no time to dodge.
Just as those chūnin were about to be turned into pincushions, an Iwagakure jōnin activated Earth Release—

A violent gale blasted Genbu backward. Immediately after, the Suna and Ame jōnin attacked from both sides, and the three jōnin engaged Genbu in intense combat.
"The intel said he was an Earth–Fire type ninja! How can he use Lightning Release? And he killed a chūnin instantly—he's clearly jōnin-level! Who said he was only a quasi-jōnin?!"
Hattori Heiji was furious. If Long Bu were still alive, he would have beaten him to death.
Fortunately, four jōnin arrived in time. Otherwise, this kid might really have escaped.
Because all the ninja who previously attacked Genbu had been killed, he was mistakenly classified as a quasi-jōnin. That error directly led to two chūnin deaths and one critically injured chūnin.

The gap between jōnin and chūnin was vast. Being attacked by three jōnin while three chūnin harassed and restrained him was already dangerous—but the jōnin who hadn't joined the attack yet posed even greater pressure.

Though he hadn't made a move, most of Genbu's attention was focused on this jōnin lurking at the edge, ready to strike at any moment.
Without the Sharingan clearly tracking attack trajectories, Genbu would have been injured long ago.
The three jōnin around him coordinated flawlessly. Instantly killing them like chūnin was nearly impossible. If he delayed any longer and exposed a flaw, the lurking jōnin would seize the chance and deal a fatal blow.
After dodging an Iwagakure jōnin's Earth-Splitting Palm and deflecting Ame's attack with his blade, Genbu pulled back. From the smoke of a smoke bomb, he raised his hand and formed a cross seal.
"Multiple Shadow Clone Technique!"
Dozens of Akimichi Genbu clones appeared instantly and scattered in all directions without hesitation.
"Hmph, foolish. Look how much chakra you've wasted."
Hattori Heiji formed seals, and four Water Release clones identical to himself appeared. The other three jōnin did the same, chasing after the clones.
The three chūnin stayed back to tend to the injured.

"You little brat—damn you!" Hattori Heiji roared in fury.
But before he could finish speaking, something happened that made him even angrier.
