I can't believe parents with jobs would gang up against a child, just because they believe what their child told them.
The anger still burned hot in my chest as we left the building. Those grown adults, people who should know better, had turned on Jaden like a pack of wolves.
They didn't even give him a chance to explain. They just believed their own kids' stories and attacked without thinking.
My hands trembled slightly as I remembered standing up and giving them a piece of my mind. The words had poured out of me, and for a moment the whole room had gone quiet. But the satisfaction was short-lived. Now, as I walked toward the car, I felt drained and worried about how this would affect Jaden.
Thank goodness I was able to give them a piece of my mind. Then I glanced down at Jaden, seeing we were about to get into the car. I turned to Stephan who stayed back, his face still cold and distant.
