JASMINEStephan remained standing for a moment, watching me carefully as though one wrong movement would make me bolt again.
Then he stepped closer.
"What exactly do you want from me," he asked quietly, his eyes fixed on my face, "for you to forgive me?"
I leaned back against the chair and folded my arms across my chest.
"Please me," I replied and his brows drew together immediately.
For a second, he looked like a man trying to solve a difficult business problem.
"Please you?" he repeated slowly.
"Yes."I held his gaze.
"You are the one who offended me, Stephan. Do you even know the kind of embarrassment you caused me today?" His jaw tightened, but he said nothing.
"I stood there in front of everyone," I continued, my voice growing harsh with every word. "Your workers, your staff, your father, all of them watching while you shouted at me like I was some shameless woman causing trouble." I pointed toward him.
