JASMINE
The next afternoon, Stephan decided to go to his father's mansion. After all Henry lived there, maybe we could get a clue.
"Stephan, do you think it will be a good idea for me to go there? You arrest their son, how do you think they are going to treat me?" He stared back at me.
"Where is the lady who is bold enough to fight him in the first place?" He asked and I smiled a bit.
"Henry is in custody for now, and it's the best." He said as we settled into the back seat of the car. His jaw was set in a hard line.
"We need real answers and I want them to look you in the eyes after everything they have done to you."
I nodded slowly, even though my stomach twisted into tight, uncomfortable knots.
Going into that house Henry's territory felt like walking straight into the lion's den with fresh meat hanging around my neck.
My ribs still ached with every breath, and the bruise on my stomach throbbed dully beneath my clothes.
