Chapter 47 - I’ve Given You Too Much Face!

Under the terrifying repulsive force, the mortal bodies didn't leave behind so much as a scrap of flesh. A vast crimson mist lingered in front of the White House, emitting a pungent, metallic stench that refused to dissipate.

The original supporters, witnessing the scene before them, screamed in horror. Some even collapsed to the ground, unconscious from pure terror. Against this macabre backdrop, the White Demon stood in the sky, ignoring the soldiers ahead and issuing a declaration to the President inside:

The White Demon has arrived!

A massive battalion of soldiers stood in formation, their gazes grim as they looked at the god-like figure standing in the void. Though they were fully armed, they felt no sense of security. The thought of defeating him never even crossed their minds. Whether it was the casual strike that had just annihilated everything into a red mist or his long list of legendary battle records, it was clear that the White Demon was not an existence they could contend with.

Some soldiers trembled. Even those who had been to war and seen hell on earth had never witnessed anything like this. Standing in the middle of a vast bloody fog, the White Demon drifted in the air as the breeze carried a thick scent of blood and pure malice toward them, threatening to drown them all.

If this continued, even these highly trained soldiers would likely break and flee. They were only human; they feared death, especially when facing a patently invincible enemy in a battle with zero chance of victory.

Inside the White House, the President sensed the arrival of the White Demon. He realized immediately... the Demon was here for revenge for the military's recent strike. Damn it, damn it! What do I do?

The President didn't run. According to intelligence, the White Demon possessed a flight speed of over Mach 10, long-range attack capabilities, and wide-range sensory perception. The moment the Demon appeared, he was locked on. If he dared to run, he would only meet death faster.

Suddenly, the President thought of something and turned to his frantic aide: "Notify the X-Men! Tell them to stop the White Demon! Otherwise, if I am killed, the Mutant Liberation Treaty will never be signed!"

Even without the President's warning, the X-Men would never have let the White Demon do as he pleased. But by the time they moved to intercept, it was already too late.

Black lightning erupted, blood permeated the air, and the surroundings instantly descended into a living hell. Professor X watched the scene from afar, his heart sinking. The White Demon had just killed hundreds of civilians. Even with perfect damage control, the Liberation Treaty would likely be dead on arrival.

Looking at the White Demon, who was openly provoking the President, the government, and the entire United States,Xavier's expression grew heavy. He spoke into the minds of the X-Men: "We must not let the White Demon kill the President. Otherwise, the rift between mutants and humans will become a permanent chasm, and we will be enemies forever!"

At his command, the X-Men charged toward the White Demon.

Storm flew into the air, shouting a question: "Why are you doing this? Don't you know this will only make the relationship between mutants and humans even more tense?"

The White Demon ignored her.

Cyclops arrived nearby, likewise shouting: "Why? You're a mutant too! Why are you hindering the signing of the Liberation Treaty?!"

The White Demon ignored him.

Mystique stepped out of the crowd, shifting back to her original form. She looked up at the Demon in the sky and screamed with hatred: "You've destroyed decades of our hard work! You've ruined the future for countless mutants! You are beyond redemption!"

But the White Demon still did not answer. He simply looked ahead with an indifferent gaze, ignoring her rage and the "future of mutants" as if they were beneath his notice. He stood high above the world, a god in the heavens.

Cyclops could no longer endure the Demon's arrogant posture. He ripped off his glasses, and the searing beams from another dimension poured out through his eyes without limit. Simultaneously, Storm activated her powers. Gales whipped up, the sky darkened, and violent thunder crashed down from the clouds, striking toward the White Demon!

Yet, even in the face of these attacks, the White Demon didn't react. He simply allowed the strikes to land on his body.

Seeing this, a flash of excitement appeared on Cyclops's face. He hadn't expected the Demon to be so overconfident as to completely ignore them. This mistake would surely tip the scales in their favor! Against a nearly invincible foe, they finally had a fighting chance! He immediately ramped up the output of his optic blasts, attempting to wound him in one go. Storm did the same.

However, in stark contrast, Professor X did not relax. His expression grew even more somber. He remembered the White Demon's ability to grow infinitely and a mutant power almost identical to a terrifying enemy from the past.

"Could it be?!"

In the next moment, the lasers and lightning hit the White Demon. To everyone's shock, he remained completely unharmed. Whether it was the violent thunder or the scorching lasers, the energy dimmed visibly as it got within a few meters of him, eventually sinking into his body.

The energy had all been absorbed!

Xavier finally confirmed his suspicion. The White Demon's Energy Absorption had undergone a metamorphosis. It had evolved to a level comparable to, or perhaps even greater than, the Black King, Sebastian Shaw!

Aurelius Viremont ignored the attacks from behind. Even if the energy from these two "power banks" was small, it shouldn't be wasted. He took a step forward.

A violent repulsive force expanded from his body at extreme speed. First the lawn, then the fountains, the tiles, the soil, and finally the fully armed soldiers!

The next instant, accompanied by a massive roar, dust and grass clippings intertwined with the vast red mist, scattering in the gale triggered by the horrific pressure.

"No!" Cyclops screamed. His emotions spiraled out of control, causing his power to surge several-fold, but the thickened beams only served as a bigger snack for the White Demon. They couldn't leave a scratch.

Facing the White Demon, the X-Men were like ordinary humans facing them: weak and powerless. This was a fundamental difference in essence.

Just then, Aurelius Viremont suddenly felt a powerful energy rising behind him. It was an energy where destruction and life coexisted—broken, yet still majestic. He felt that power actually ignoring his Energy Absorption, attempting to decompose his body directly!

Though the decomposition speed was far too slow to pose a threat, it finally piqued the Demon's interest. He slowly turned his head, looking at the distant Jean Grey whose eyes were turning a deep crimson. He gave a brilliant smile.

"I've given you too much face!"
