It was night. The first night since Mira was a mother of cheetah babies and she could not help but be awake.
She did not know what it was but she felt a strong emotional attachment to her cubs and she did not want to leave their side one bit. They were so small and fragile and all she wanted to do was hold them all and never let go for one second.
That was why she was here, standing by each crib as she stared at her sleeping cheetah cubs, ensuring that they were sound asleep and undisturbed. It was nice being here, being close to the pickles that caused her so much pain was shockingly relieving. The pain she shared before suddenly did not matter and she just wanted to stay by their side.
Mira heard the sound of wood creak and diverted her attention to the cause of the sound but only for a little bit. The children's father had come to pay her a visit and she welcomed it with a curve of her lips.
