The soft melody flowing through Sarah's earphones seemed to create a small world that belonged only to her. She gently nodded along to the rhythm, allowing the music to wash over her mind and temporarily erase every burden that had been suffocating her for weeks. Resting comfortably in her lap was an entertainment magazine that she casually flipped through, her eyes moving over articles and celebrity photographs that meant very little to her. Truthfully, she probably understood only half of what she was reading, yet that hardly mattered.
For the first time in what felt like forever, Sarah wanted to exist without thinking.
