Tiva didn't know how to execute her plan because she got no clear plan at this point. Yet, she began to move from her new found friends.
She found a rock and slept there till morning and the same nightmare surfaced again. She woke up this time and it was a terrible nightmare. She saw Neteyam dying. She thought about how Yomiting will be sad. Worst of all, how her past clan might lose a potential Toruk Makto.
" Eywa… I need your help, mother" Tiva said while crying. She didn't know why she was crying.
Her fears had no time to heal. She saw an Akula trying to attack Lo'ak. Then she remembered something that Tulkuns can attack Akula. She saw a Tulkun in a distance close to Lo'ak and swam like a fish. Tulkun was wounded and attacked by Sky people. Before she could do anything Tulkun saved Lo'ak which made her feel relieved.
She saw Eylan arguing with Ole'eyktan's son for putting Lo'ak in danger. She missed the time she spent with her. Besides, her love for Neteyam was too obvious for Tiva. Otherwise she would obey.
Then the nightmares she saw everyday crept into her mind and realised that when she acted against it she would pay a price for it. In the distance she noticed Lo'ak took all the blame for himself.
" Why did you take my side ?" Anoung asked.
" because I know what does it feels like to be the biggest disappointment"
Lo'ak replied.
Despite knowing Lo'ak might hate her at this point Tiva realised, Lo'ak has many things in common with her.
In that nightmare she got to know about Payakan. While others are teaming up, Tiva realizes that maybe she might find Na'vi who are in the same boat as her.
Then Neteyam's Ikran appeared again with a loud noise. Tiva woke up immediately.
This time she was ready. She knew these nightmares itself had given her a duty. Seeing Lo'ak and Spider made her think being an outcast isn't just coming from being an orphan. Some are never gonna be good enough.
" Fine, we gotta travel a lot now"
Ikran made happy noises letting her pat him. She wished Spider was there. She realised even this idea is stupid defense is needed anyway.
She sensed if she met Spider again she will find information about RDA very well. And she knew Spider was disappeared suddenly. It means a full blown spying around the area.
Few memories resurfaced on her mind. But she didn't know why they came in to her mind. She found a cave and decided to plan things there. She got a stone and made a map of RDA as her memories resurfaced. Yet, uncertainty crept her mind. She missed her home. Her memories with Eylan and Yomiting.
Tiva got angry reflecting on Yomiting's betrayal. Suddenly, she began to rethink where Yomiting made suspicious acts. It was long ago. Where Tiva secretly watched how Neteyam improved his fighting skills.
Yomiting was the prettiest na'vi girl in the clan. Tiva knew even if she was never named as a traitor Neteyam was too far to reach.
Even if she could win Neteyam or not, Tiva wasn't a traitor. Now she gotta prove that. It was the hardest part. Unless Yomiting clearly makes a mistake that would caught her eye.
" Tiva..." Nivi spoke. Tiva was surprised to see that Nivi found her. Nivi was much elder than her. Yet, they were frequently meet as messengers of two clans. Nivi was the only person Tiva confessed her feelings for Neteyam. Nivi thought Tiva might got in to a trouble because of that.
" how did you find me?"
" Well, I can recognise your footsteps"
" you know me too well, sister"
" We are like Siblings, you know".
Nivi sat beside Tiva. Though they couldn't meet each other for a long time, when they got together they always shared their troubles. It wasn't that their clans dismissed them. But hunting was the priority not assisting so they were often overlooked. Nivi sensed Tiva is in a trouble. Unlike Olangi, Ometikaya doesn't wander. Because of that Nivi had bunch of questions to ask from Tiva.
" You got into a trouble right?"
" Yeah"
" what actually happened? You tried to confess your feelings to him?"
Nivi asked as if that was an accusation. Tiva sighed.
" I forgot to tell you, long ago he rejected me. Now he doesn't even remember. Even I forgot it"
Tiva replied while flickering the painful memory. She didn't know whether this was love or obsession.
That day the forest was quiet — too quiet.
Tiva felt his gaze before she saw him.
Neteyam stood a few paces away, half-shadowed by bioluminescent vines. He wasn't smiling. He wasn't distant either.
Just… decided.She held his gaze longer than she should have.That was her mistake.
His jaw tightened and he didn't sound soft this time.It sounded measured.
" You... Assistant"
She straightened instinctively.
"Yes?"
He stepped closer — not intimate, but close enough that the air between them shifted.
"You need to stop."
The words landed before she understood them.
"Stop… what?"
He looked away first.That hurt more than if he had glared.
"The way you look at me."
The forest suddenly felt too wide. She had a long pause.
"I don't—" she started.
"Yes, you do."
It was neither harsh nor mocking. It was just certain. His next words were clean. Controlled.
"I will marry Yomiting."
There it was.Not an insult. A future and an act.
Eversince Nivi heard that she made a wry face. She wasn't a fan of Tiva's feelings for him. She always told her to move on or do something else.
" I know Nivi. It's hard. Now things gotten worse."
Tiva stated the recent events as Nivi wasn't there when she explained that to others she just met.
" He does not deserve you. You're just seeing nightmares"
" Some become almost true. I think Eywa shows future to me. I don't want to see his death"
" girl, basically he doesn't know you exist at some point . Still you are gonna do everything for save him. Do you think he would do the same? . If I were you, I will try to save myself"
" You're right. Now my feelings for him isn't the point. It's all of us are in great danger"
" Yes, but what can we do Tiva? We can't even fight"
" we watched others fight. We can practice fighting"
" To impress Neteyam?"
" Nah, I just want to do what Eywa told me to do"
" You think it's Eywa. You're just imagining things. All of us would get killed if we fight. At least I can hunt a little. You think you can save Spider without even knowing how to hunt?"
" Nivi, at least I can try"
" You're getting yourself killed. Just like Fipo did"
" Fipo? Who is Fipo?" Tiva asked
Nivi realised she exposed her biggest secret. Now there is no going back for her as Tiva is demanding an explanation from the demeanour Nivi began to tell her story
" My mate. He is from Metauni clan. More handsome than your goddammit Neteyam. We met in the same Island as you met others. I was lost in my way and ended up coming to the ocean. There he was came out of water. He was the most handsome person I ever saw"
" Then?"
" It was love at first sight. I camped there. He was with me. I felt safe. He was a brilliant warrior in his clan. He fell in love with me. We became mates. It wasn't sudden. That's why I wasn't there to meet you for many days."
Nivi sighed afterwards. Tiva listened to her attentively as she continued to tell her story.
" I was pregnant after that. He was over the moon after hearing the news. But just after he heard that he got to know Akula is a becoming threat to his people. He thought he could kill them. Damn he..."
Nivi began to cry. Tiva hugged her. Tiva knew by herself how dangerous Akula is. It was obvious what happened next.
" Now he is gone, just to save his people. "
" where is your child then? " Tiva asked.
" It was a boy and a girl. I raised them with his mother. But as his death affected to me too well, I couldn't get used Oceanic ways. Kids stopped weaning after a while. His mother suggested me to go back to forest and come after a while. But I couldn't go there until I saw your footsteps. "
" Don't kill yourself to save many Tiva... I lost my man, I can't lose my sister too... "
Tiva didn't speak because she knew words can't console Nivi. Tiva couldn't process the story all at once yet she understood the gravity.
Yet, She knew she should do it. Otherwise how could she prove others. Fipo was a warrior yet he also got killed. What a chance for girl like her?
Nivi kept crying. While walking. Tiva couldn't console her by words. This was a situation she always scared to witness if she had a chance with Neteyam. But now she witness a tragedy of mother who lost her beloved mate just after getting conceived.
". I don't know how to console you sister"
" You don't need to say anything..."
Nivi noticed Tiva's ambitious faces amidst her mixed feelings displayed in it. Despite her frustration and anxiety Nivi said.
" I know you aren't gonna stop. Besides, you need to prove Ometikayans that you did no wrong. "
" I don't how to"
" Whatever happens,don't get yourself killed. I was a little kid when Sky people attacked us. Jake Sully's leadership was the only hope we had. He got no much skill eitherway. Maybe you can do it..... Afterall Fipo just wanted to save his people...."
" Nivi..."
" you may find a way to prove yourself. I believe in you. Just don't get yourself killed"
Nivi said believing Tiva at the same time disbelieving her. Tiva realised there's no other way at this point.
