Chapter 14 - A New Sun

Chapter 14: A New Sun

Location: Isaz Kingdom, Lifianest Continent, Primal plane.

Dragon calendar: Year 1,001,100, Orpheus 8th

Winter, snow and cold climate.

Those things were always looked down upon with disdain by a considerable number of races. Regardless, there are some races who prefer coldness over warmth.

At the forefront of those was an ancient race that was thoroughly hidden from the civilizations that rose and fell for thousands and million years.

A strong race that was said to rival Demons. A mythical race appeared in fairytales said in bard songs and children story books.

Due to their influence, there's a place in the Primal Plane that is eternally soaked in winter. Not the eerie winter of Frerland, but the ever changing winter that even winter fairies praise all year around.

The eternal light of the moon descended on the world cloaked in pure white, embracing the peaceful stillness of winter's splendor. Frost-kissed trees stood bare, stretching their skeleton arms as if begging the heaven to give them back their luxurious green coats and colorful accessories of leaves and flowers.

Snowflakes, each appearing as a beautiful artwork of a meticulous winter fairy's secret magic, fell gracefully on the frozen ground, dancing like ballerinas to a slow piano melody crafted by keys of the cold winter breeze.

The crystal lakes and rivers, adorned with crystalline ice, continuously weaved beautiful patterns like complex laceworks of a noblewoman's evening dress, While the cold air tingled with the scent of fresh pine leaves and snow drenched the white cloak of the elegant winter in a playful manner.

Every night brought by winter is mysterious like the universe, unforgettable like the first memory of a child. It was sometimes as mesmerizing as a dragon's true form, but sometimes as terrifying as their wrath.

However, the night that came to Isaz kingdom today was the former.

Clack. Clack. Clack.

A man clad in black armor walked across a spacious hallway, inside a palace built with splendid architecture. Every inch of his skin was thoroughly covered by the armor with grey fur and an onyx hue cloak.

His deadly aura and movements displayed that he was not an ordinary human. No, he was far from human. His size, approximately 5 meters tall with four masculine arms said it all.

On one hand, he held a large shield engraved with ancient runes and an image of a beast closer to a wolf. On the other hand he held an axe drenched in blood. His free hands moved along with his steps as if he was taking a pre-planned night walk under the silver moonlight.

The race he belonged to was just as rational and mysterious as dragons, they say.

The peace loving race that prefer to stay silent as long as their kin was safe, but would crush any lifeform if threatened.

Yes, they would even go against those said dragons and gods if needed, for the peace of their kin.

The Titans.

That was his race.

The Titan, who was in his own world, stopped in his tracks upon detecting a presence nearby. He changed his directions in the blink of an eye, hurrying his steps.

Clack. Clack. Clack. Clack.

The sound of his armor boots echoed in the quiet hallway.

Drip-drip-drip.

Blood droplets fell from his massive axe, indicating that he had just returned from a bloody battle.

Then his steps paused once again before a man hidden beneath the dark shadows. His leather brown shoes and grey robe were the only things moonlight was able to capture.

"Great Sage?" A low, deep voice escaped the armored Titan's mouth hidden behind his helmet.

The man, addressed as The Great Sage, seemed to look at him, but it was hard to tell because of the shadows around him.

"You Majesty…I have some interesting news." Great sage chuckled softly, his voice, old and worn out, displayed his age despite the darkness's struggle to conceal him.

"Speak." The armored Titan, seeming to hold the highest position among his kin, commanded.

"A new sun hotter than the existing one has been born on the moon…"

"What does that—"

"Something interesting is happening. Be careful, Your Majesty. It seems this peace won't last long."

A stern advice and a warning followed.

The King of Titans said nothing as he studied the Great Sage. Then he lifted his face and looked at the full moon glowing in the sky like a silver plate.

The snowfall had ended long ago, heavy clouds were slowly moving away from the moon as if something mysterious was happening in the sky. Moonlight dripped through the window, capturing his teal eyes underneath the armor.

"A new sun, huh?"

His eyes glowed in a dangerous teal hue, like a predator eyeing its next prey.

Location: Underground of Elyon mountain range, near capital city Metatron, Eternal plane

The fluttering of giant wings broke the silence inside endless darkness. A bright light, mixed with Seven colors burst forth in an instant as if the one sending the light was startled and irritated by something.

Although the outer look of the light seemed beautiful and peaceful, if one was to be exposed to that, they'd have had no time to even feel pain before turning to dust.

Amidst the terrifyingly beautiful light, a giant pupil of rainbow hue displayed its presence, trapped between long silver eyelashes. Then the remaining eyeballs around the giant eye also fluttered their eyelids and opened them one after another.

There was no sound.. not even the sound of wings flapping could be heard anymore.

The giant eye frowned, red veins were slowly appearing as if to show how displeased it was.

—Khesed!!!— Although there was no mouth, it called out in irritation.

"I answer the summons of my Holy father." The moment it uttered the name, a Principality of angels, with 12 wings and a giant body with no gender visible popped out of thin air surrounded by glowing golden feathers like a rain.

—An obstacle has been awakened. Investigate—

"As you command."

There was no question asked, Khesed, the Principality of Kindness bowed their head deeper with a smirk on the corner of their lips.

Location: Aleph lake, near the Capital city of Se'irim Devildom, Abyssal plane

Demons may be violent, yes. But even so, they too have their own private lives.

To leisurely look at a blood filled lake while sinners get drowned by the orders of the Queen reigning over that part of the Abyssal Plane was one of most popular hobbies of noble demons.

Today too, under the bright red moonlight, demons gathered together to enjoy the fear and sorrow of their own kind. As sinners slowly drowned in the bloody Lake Aleph, a gift from their former Goddess, something unexpected happened.

The ground trembled for a few seconds, as if it was angry by something unknown.

"Wh-what the hell is happening?" A noble put down their drink, straightening their back.

That was all he could say.

No, there was no time for anyone else to even open their mouth.

Boom!

The lake, including the entire surrounding area, exploded with flames and debris.

—Those fxxxxxx Dragons!!!—

That day, residents of Se'irim capital witnessed the end of Aleph lake. But there was no one to tell the tale as they all dropped dead the moment they heard the furious screams of something sinister and overwhelmingly powerful.

Location: Elysium; the Capital city of Celestial Spirits, Celestial plane

Celestial plane,.

To lesser races, the Celestial plane was like heaven.

Unreachable.

Unapproachable.

Unimaginable.

Because no matter what, only Celestial spirits are allowed to live on that plane.

Not even gods, who force their way through sometimes, were able to stay if Celestial spirits didn't allow it.

That was why, the gate to the celestial plane can only be opened by celestial spirits themselves, making it the safest place in the world of Mitherr-ge.

Simply put, it's the resting place for millions of dragons after the creation of the world.

The celestial plane was that kind of place.

And that was also why there were countless baseless rumors about this place routing around other planes.

For example, Angels call this place the fake-heaven. Demons call it the Hidden mirth of lowly dragons. Humans call it the City of Gods. While most beastkin believe it was where dreams were made, calling it the Dream Land.

But were they all right?

Then what about Dragons?

What kind of thoughts do they have of the place they were one day supposed to enter?

In dragon records, they call the Celestial Plane by a fitting name; Golden World.

Buildings made of pure gold soaring up to the skies that are painted with beautiful bright blue. Marble statues, fontaines and pavilions here and there made of platinum to add color into the golden beauty one might find too dazzling. Bridges crafted by pure crystals of various colors, streets made of precious Jasper and amber.

With all the luxury, nature's allure that had overtaken the city like a thief was the most beautiful of them all. Green vines climbing golden walls and crystal bridges, grass blades surrounding well crafted amber carpets, ancient trees competing with golden buildings to reach the sky.

All together, the plane that only has the season of spring as its companion was the true heaven for dragons. Thus the capital city of such a place was named Elysium. Which means heaven in Drakonic.

Currently, Elysium city is crowded with celestial spirits. For the reason that the most powerful spirit had left the plane for a brief moment to meet and talk with their descendants.

They are waiting for him to return and share new news. The parts celestial spirits can see of Primal Plane was limited, especially spying on their own descendants was close to impossible if one wasn't a time spirit.

Therefore, the commotion that occurs once every few centuries was unavoidable.

But most of all, all the spirits knew the awakening ceremony of this year, in this time period was very important to Thanasios as well as all the time spirits.

They were aware something dreadful was about to happen. The time for it was closing with each passing day. The prophecies time spirits had given were all pointing to one dragon and two other races. Those were the people who could determine the fate of the world.

Thanasios left the plane to meet that said young dragon in his awakening state, and judge if the world could maintain its current order through him.

And the duty of remaining celestial spirits was to wait patiently, and offer help if necessary.

As almost all the celestial spirits were thinking the same thing, silently agreeing with one another, something soul-shocking happened before their very eyes.

First to lift their heads and glance at the glob and the moon placed in the middle of the city were the celestial spirits of time.

—Huh?—

—What is this?—

—Is this really possible?—

—What's happening?—

Mummers erupted from every corner, making other spirits restless.

—Hey, what's going on?—

—Say something!—

—Why are you all reacting like that!—

But before time spirits were even able to organize their thoughts. It truly happened.

A golden glow in the blue sky.

That day, a warm yet powerful light was born like a new star in the celestial sky. With millions of witnesses watching, it exploded, turning into a golden rain.

That day, they all realized;

—A powerful anomaly has been awakened.—

Location: Somewhere in Primal plane

Primal plane is the place where almost all races belonging to Mitherr-ge coexist. Yet, it was also the place where countless secrets were buried, countless unknown things had happened, oblivious to almost all people living in the world.

Lost in time, there was such a place somewhere in the Primal Plane that had been silently waiting.

Waiting? For what? For whom?

One might ask.

Only the one waiting would know the purpose of their actions, wouldn't they?

Deep underground…deeper and deeper, away from the touch of any living being for a million of years, a place still exists for a reason unknown.

A brightly lit cavern, ancient architecture that still boasted the pride and beauty of former civilizations, letters engraved in an ancient tongue only dragons might recognize…

Amidst all those uncanny secrets, something that seemed out of place was located right in the middle.

It was a pyramid, made of purest glass one could find in the whole universe.

But the glass pyramid wasn't the unusual object that seemed out of place, rather, it was the foreign entity that appeared to be trapped inside.

A dark mist, as if it was made of stealing the dark clouds of the Void Plane, twisted and swirled within the glass pyramid as if it was an item waiting for someone to take it away.

From time to time, crackles of unseen lightning and firewood sparks leaked from the mist. At a first glance, it might come across as harmless.

However, the chilling aura surrounding it said otherwise.

It was far from a mere item.

Far from harmless.

No, it was alive. It had a will of its own.

—Hmmm…— A cheerful, yet calculating hum resonated with the air, causing the glasses to vibrate.

Then the sound of someone chuckling cheerfully, as if they were a child who was given an amusing toy on their birthday, filled the cavern.

All of those noises pointed in one direction; The dark mist inside the glass pyramid.

—First, they reset the time. And now, it seems an inscrutable anomaly has been awakened— A voice that could shatter a soul mumbled softly.

—How amusing—
