Chapter 73 - The Void Answers

"The Key… has returned."

The voice echoed through the endless darkness.

Not loud.

Not forceful.

Yet it shook existence itself.

Aria couldn't move.

Her body refused.

Her mind refused.

Everything inside her screamed one truth—

Rowan was gone.

The wind howled violently across the ruined sanctuary.

The broken sky pulsed like a wound that refused to close.

Dark energy poured from the growing tear above, spreading like poison across the world.

And still—

Aria stood there.

Frozen.

Empty.

"…No…"

Her voice trembled, barely audible.

"This… isn't real…"

A sudden surge of energy snapped through the air.

BOOM!

The ground beneath her shattered further, forcing her back to reality.

Aria staggered, barely catching her balance.

Her eyes shot upward.

The tear in the sky—

Was expanding faster now.

Unstable.

Hungry.

Alive.

"…If that fully opens…"

Her breath hitched.

She didn't need anyone to tell her the truth.

She could feel it.

In her bones.

In her soul.

Everything would end.

"No…"

Her hands clenched tightly.

Light flickered weakly around her fingers.

Unstable.

Shaking.

Just like her.

"I won't accept this…"

Her voice grew stronger.

Firmer.

"No matter what happens…"

A faint glow began to rise from her body.

"…I won't lose him."

FLASH.

A memory.

Rowan standing beside her.

Smiling.

Fighting.

Protecting her.

Calling her name.

"I'll bring you back…"

Her light surged.

"…even if I have to break the world to do it."

BOOM!

Radiant energy exploded outward from Aria's body, pushing back the creeping darkness around the sanctuary.

For the first time—

The Void hesitated.

High above—

The tear in the sky pulsed violently.

As if reacting.

As if watching her.

Then—

It answered.

The darkness within the tear twisted.

Condensed.

Formed.

A massive shadow began to descend slowly—

Not fully entering the world.

Not yet.

But enough.

Enough to be seen.

Aria's breath caught.

Her body tensed instinctively.

"…What is that…?"

Two eyes opened within the darkness.

Endless.

Black.

Ancient.

And then—

It spoke.

"You resist."

The voice was calm.

Cold.

Absolute.

Aria's heart pounded violently.

"You took him from me…" she said, her voice shaking—but not with fear.

With anger.

Pure.

Burning anger.

"Give him back!"

Silence.

Then—

A low, echoing sound.

Laughter.

"He was never yours to keep."

Aria's eyes burned.

Light flared brighter around her.

"He's not yours either!"

The darkness shifted slightly.

As if… amused.

"As long as the Key exists…"

"…the Gate will open."

Aria gritted her teeth.

"I don't care about your Gate!"

Her voice cracked with emotion.

"I just want him back!"

For a moment—

Everything went silent.

Then—

The presence moved.

Closer.

"Then come."

Aria froze.

"…What?"

"Come into the Void."

The words echoed slowly.

Deliberately.

Like a trap already set.

"If you wish to reclaim what was taken…"

"…step beyond your world."

Aria's eyes widened.

The Void.

That place.

That darkness.

That endless nothingness.

Death.

"…You think I'm afraid?" she whispered.

The voice didn't answer.

It didn't need to.

Because deep down—

She was.

Her hands trembled slightly.

Her light flickered again.

Then—

She closed her eyes.

Rowan's voice echoed in her mind.

"Aria."

Her eyes snapped open.

Clear.

Determined.

Unbreakable.

"…Tell me how."

For the first time—

The darkness paused.

"…Interesting."

The tear in the sky pulsed again.

Stronger.

Wider.

More unstable.

"A path will open."

"But understand this—"

The voice dropped.

Colder than before.

"Once you enter…"

"…there is no return."

Aria didn't hesitate.

Not even for a second.

"I'm not coming back without him anyway."

Silence.

Then—

The Void shifted.

And the tear—

Began to change.

A spiral of darkness formed within it.

A gateway.

Not fully stable.

Not fully real.

But enough.

The path to the Void had opened.

The wind roared violently.

Pulling everything toward it.

Stone.

Dust.

Light.

Everything.

Aria stood at the edge of the collapsing sanctuary.

Her hair whipped wildly in the storm.

Her light flickered against the darkness.

Alone.

"…Wait for me," she whispered.

And then—

Without hesitation—

She stepped forward.

Into the Void.

🔥 Ending Hook

As Aria disappeared into the darkness—

Far beyond the world—

Far beyond light—

A figure stood waiting.

Rowan.

Or what remained of him.

His black eye slowly shifted.

Locking onto her.

"…You came."

And behind him—

Something smiled
