Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Limitless Potential

[Host has led the Uchiha clan, shattered rumors, and counter-killed Danzo. Distributing rewards upon settlement.]

[Clan Prestige +20. Sharingan Visual Prowess +50%. Beginner Sage Body.]

'Sage Body?!'

Jie Uchiha was instantly overjoyed. The Sage Body was an incredible asset. Even at a beginner level, it was a massive upgrade. After all, Jie was bound to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan in the future. Until he obtained the Eternal Mangekyo, there was a constant risk of going blind. Now, with the Sage Body, he could significantly extend the time he could safely use his Mangekyo.

As soon as the system finished speaking, a refreshing current surged from his mind and converged in his eyes. Simultaneously, a warm sensation traveled down his spine, spreading throughout his entire body. It felt like soaking in a perfect hot spring; it was so soothing that Jie almost groaned aloud.

The warmth faded as quickly as it came. When Jie opened his eyes, his three-tomoe Sharingan flashed briefly in the light. His visual prowess had strengthened once again, making the world before him appear just a bit sharper.

But, right now Jie didn't have time to study his Sharingan or gauge how close he was to the Mangekyo. He only wanted to know exactly how much of a boost the beginner Sage Body provided.

Upon sensing his internal reserves, Jie was thrilled. Having just integrated the beginner Sage Body, his chakra had already skyrocketed by three or four times.

However, Jie was only five years old and hadn't been training for long. Excluding the Nine-Tails' chakra sealed within him, his personal reserves were extremely limited. Even with a massive multiplier, his total capacity was roughly equivalent to an average Chunin.

Furthermore, Jie realized that the 'Resilient Physique' trait he had obtained from the novice starter pack had merged completely with his new Sage Body. The Sage Body inherently possessed potent regenerative abilities, and his resilient trait was built for extreme endurance in sustained combat. Fused together, his recovery rate pushed to an entirely new tier.

If he obtained the perfect Sage Body in the future, wouldn't his vitality and chakra essentially become limitless? He could casually toss out ten moons with Planetary Devastation or drop a whole string of meteors using Shattered Heaven. Just thinking about the destructive potential left Jie feeling deeply satisfied.

With that in mind, Jie couldn't wait to go back, refine his chakra, and unearth the deep potential hidden within his new body....

...

The plan had been flawlessly executed. Jie and Fugaku Uchiha led the rest of the clan as they slowly retreated into their compound. The Uchiha moving out in full force today left a profound impression on the rest of the Hidden Leaf. Even after they vanished behind their gates, the numerous clan representatives present lingered in the streets for a long time.

"So the Uchiha clan is actually this powerful. We must definitely build good relations with them from now on!"

"Pass down the order: absolutely no one from our family is to come into conflict with the Uchiha. Anyone who acts recklessly will be severely punished!"

"Prepare some gifts. I'm going to the Uchiha compound tonight to test the waters."

....

"To think the Uchiha clan is so strong, and their compound is now located right in the center of the village."

Inside the Hokage's office, Hiruzen Sarutobi was sweating. "If the day ever comes when they decide to rebel, wouldn't they be able to capture the Hokage building with ease?"

At this thought, Hiruzen felt the hairs on his arms stand on end, as if an Uchiha would breach his office in the very next second and cut him down. Subconsciously, he wanted to relocate the Hokage building immediately. Even if it meant moving to the absolute outskirts of the village, as long as it distanced him from the Uchiha clan, he would feel secure.

However, Hiruzen forcefully suppressed the idea. The Uchiha had just mobilized their entire force and established their absolute authority in the Hidden Leaf. If he, as the Hokage, immediately packed up and fled from the village center, wouldn't that broadcast his utter lack of trust in them? While he genuinely didn't trust the Uchiha, he couldn't put his paranoia out in the open.

"I can't move it, but I can't leave it either. I can't live like this!"

Hiruzen took a deep drag from his pipe, the gloom in his heart growing heavier by the second.

"No, I still need to find an opportunity to eradicate the Uchiha clan."

Making up his mind, Hiruzen gazed off into the distance toward the mountain behind the Hidden Leaf. "Old friend, this plan won't work without you."

...

Once they returned to the compound, Jie Uchiha breathed a heavy sigh of relief. Finally, after his relentless efforts, several of the massive burdens hanging over the Uchiha's head had been lifted. If nothing else, Jie could safely focus on his training for the time being. He needed to take advantage of this downtime to properly sort out and familiarize himself with his newly upgraded abilities.

-Three months passed in a flash.

Including the two months spent rebuilding the clan compound, it had been over half a year since Jie arrived in the Naruto world. Over these past three months, Jie spent his time either mastering his powers in the training grounds or accompanying Izumi Uchiha to gather herbs in the back mountain to relax.

Along the way, he also made sure to give some guidance to his disappointing younger brother, Itachi Uchiha, on how to properly refine chakra and use jutsu.
