[Ding! Due to the host's interference, the fateful battle between Indra and Ashura has occurred early. Rewards are now being calculated.]
[Reward Obtained: 10% of Indra's Reincarnate Chakra.]
[Reward Obtained: 20% of Ashura's Reincarnate Chakra.]
[Detected that the host already possesses a Basic Sage Body. Ashura's Reincarnate Chakra will merge to upgrade it into an Intermediate Sage Body.]
A series of system notifications rang out in Jie's mind, catching him completely off guard.
'The fateful battle occurred early?'
'A minor scuffle between three-year-olds actually counted as the fateful battle?'
Jie stared at Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha in utter disbelief. If he had known that letting these two fight would yield such generous rewards, he would have dragged Sasuke over to bother Naruto every single day. Or better yet, he could have just taken Naruto as a disciple and forced the two boys to spar constantly.
Naruto truly lived up to his title as the most unpredictable ninja. Even though he wasn't technically a shinobi yet, he had still managed to catch Jie completely by surprise.
Before Jie could dwell on the absurdity of it all, a refreshing, cooling sensation surged from deep within his mind straight into his eyes, forcing them shut. At the exact same time, a searing current of heat rushed down his spine, spreading rapidly throughout his entire body.
Amidst the sudden chill, Jie felt his visual prowess skyrocket. Conversely, the intense heat caused his chakra reserves to expand dramatically. The extreme duality of ice in his eyes and fire in his veins was overwhelming, nearly drawing a groan from his lips.
Fortunately, the intense sensation faded as quickly as it had arrived. In less than a minute, the rewards had fully integrated.
Sensing his internal condition, Jie couldn't help but click his tongue in shock. In the brief minute it took to fuse with the Intermediate Sage Body, his chakra reserves had at least doubled. He didn't even need to actively mold it anymore; new chakra was constantly and endlessly being generated within him every single moment.
While this passive growth rate couldn't compare to the amount of chakra he produced during active training, its true advantage lay in its persistence. It allowed him to grow stronger every waking second. Added up over time, it was a staggering daily improvement.
Furthermore, with the Intermediate Sage Body, Jie felt a substantial boost to both his raw physical strength and his bodily endurance.
While he was thoroughly satisfied with his newly enhanced physique, Jie was far more concerned with his eyes. As the most notorious cheat ability in the shinobi world, upgrading his visual prowess was the absolute fastest way to increase his combat power.
Slowly opening his eyes, Jie realized he had never seen the world with such breathtaking clarity.
He formed a single-handed seal, conjuring a small mirror of water in front of him.
'Sharingan, open!'
With a mere thought, Jie's eyes instantly turned crimson. One tomoe, two tomoe, three tomoe... the three magatama began to spin rapidly, blurring together until they slowly merged into a single form.
Suddenly, a triangular pattern adorned with an exquisite, intricate design materialized in his pupils.
"This shape... it doesn't match any of the Mangekyo Sharingan patterns I know of," Jie muttered to himself. "It truly is the eye that reflects the heart. Every pair of Mangekyo is entirely unique."
Looking at his brand-new eyes, his heart swelled with joy. And when he fully sensed the two specific ocular jutsu contained within them, his excitement soared even higher.
The jutsu housed in his right eye was called Bansho. Simply put, when activated, it allowed Jie to perfectly control all objects within a specific radius.
It functioned exactly like a domain. Within this space, Jie could block all tangible and intangible attacks. He could even reflect those attacks right back at the caster, granting him a true, absolute defense. Furthermore, if an enemy carelessly stepped into his domain, their every movement would fall completely under his control.
As for the domain's range, Jie made a rough estimate: its minimum radius was one meter, centered entirely on him. The domain would move as he moved, and he could expand its radius by funneling more ocular power into it.
However, the chakra drain required to expand it would be an astronomical figure. At his current level, he didn't dare test that limit recklessly.
Bansho had no cooldown time. As long as he had the ocular power to sustain it, the domain would remain active. But the longer he kept it up, the more it would drain his eyes, accelerating the inevitable risk of blindness.
Based on his own calculations, his current reserves could only sustain the jutsu for a maximum of three minutes. Any longer, and he risked permanently damaging his eyesight.
Still, three minutes of pure invincibility was more than enough. Honestly, for an ability this overpowered, even a single minute of use would be a godsend. After all, life and death in a ninja battle were decided in a fraction of a second. Three minutes was plenty of time to carve a bloody path through an entire army.
As for the jutsu in his left eye, Jie was genuinely baffled. His left eye actually contained two distinct ocular jutsu.
One was Kamui, and the other was Setsuna.
Kamui was the system reward he had received after defeating Kakashi. Because he hadn't yet awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan at the time, he had been forced to shelve the ability, entirely unable to use it.
Starting today, that was no longer a problem.
As for Setsuna... after learning exactly what the jutsu did, Jie honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
