Jie did not like this result.
He wanted to catch Toneri and Black Zetsu more than take the giant Tenseigan. But they had already escaped, so he had to accept it.
As Jie was about to go to the floating island, he saw Hinata beside him, and his heart sank.
He had almost forgotten.
The main reason he had come to the moon was not the giant Tenseigan, nor was it Toneri or Black Zetsu.
It was Hanabi.
Toneri and Black Zetsu had taken too much of his attention. What they did was very unexpected, and when the fight got worse, Jie focused only on stopping them from escaping.
Only now did he remember that Hanabi was still somewhere on the moon.
When Jie looked at the broken land around him, his face grew serious. The fight between him and Toneri had caused too much damage.
Hanabi was only seven or eight years old. Worse, Toneri had taken one of her eyes, so she could hardly protect herself.
After such a strong impact, Jie was not sure if Hanabi was still alive.
If Hanabi had died after his fight with Toneri, then this trip to the moon would be a failure. He would not only fail to catch Toneri and Black Zetsu, but also fail to bring Hanabi back.
Hinata had already been acting distant toward him.
If Hanabi died because of his mistake, Jie did not know if their teacher-student relationship would stay the same.
The giant Tenseigan was still on the floating island. It could not run away. Right now, finding Hanabi was more important. Whether she was alive or dead, Jie had to give Hinata and the Hyuga clan an answer.
Thinking of this, Jie quickly took Hinata into the air.
It was not because he wanted to chase the giant Tenseigan first. The reason was simple.
The higher he went, the more he could see.
The moon was very big. If he searched slowly from the ground, it could take many days to check everywhere. So Jie flew higher. From above, he could see much farther, and soon he saw some black dots in the distance.
The Otsutsuki clan had once built a big castle on the moon.
Jie thought those black dots were probably the remains of that castle. If nothing strange had happened, Hanabi should be there.
Also, the castle was far from the battlefield. It was still hit by the shockwaves, but it did not look too badly damaged.
Jie felt a little relieved.
After Toneri and Black Zetsu escaped, this was the first good news. As long as Hanabi was still alive, he could explain things to Hinata and the Hyuga clan.
After choosing the direction, Jie kept the Perfect Susanoo. The castle was still very far away, and if he and Hinata flew by themselves, it would take too long.
With the Perfect Susanoo, they could move much faster.
Also, Jie's eyes had already become the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and were close to turning into the Rinnegan. The system had made his eye power much stronger. Because of this, keeping the Perfect Susanoo active was not very hard for him.
The red-gold giant spread its wings and flew toward the distant castle.
With the Perfect Susanoo's speed, the distance that would have taken hours to cross was shortened to less than half an hour.
Soon, the castle appeared clearly in front of them.
It was old and huge, built in a style completely different from the buildings in the ninja world.
Even after being hit by the aftermath of the battle, most of it was still standing. Some outer walls had collapsed, and broken stone was scattered everywhere, but the main structure had not been destroyed.
Jie looked over the castle, then focused his senses inside.
A moment later, he finally felt a faint chakra reaction.
His tense expression eased slightly.
The Otsutsuki clan on the moon had almost died out. Other than Toneri, what remained here were mostly puppets controlled by the giant Tenseigan. Their chakra reaction was different from a living person's.
So this weak chakra could only belong to Hanabi.
She was still alive.
Jie controlled the Perfect Susanoo and flew directly above the castle. After confirming the room where the chakra came from, he dispersed the giant and dropped down with Hinata.
The two landed outside the room.
Jie pushed the door open, and inside, they saw a small figure lying on the bed.
Hinata, who had stayed silent almost the entire way, froze for a moment. Then her face changed completely.
"Hanabi!"
She rushed to the bed at once, her voice trembling with fear.
Hinata knelt by the bed and looked at Hanabi's still body. The fear she had been holding back finally came out.
"Hanabi, wake up. Don't scare me."
No matter how she called, Hanabi did not answer. She lay there quietly, still unconscious, and tears quickly filled Hinata's eyes.
"Brother Jie…"
Hinata turned to Jie, her voice shaking as she begged him.
"Please save Hanabi."
Seeing her like this, Jie felt his heart tighten. His anger toward Toneri grew, but he still stepped forward and checked Hanabi first.
After a moment, Jie relaxed a little.
From what he saw, Hanabi was not badly hurt. She did not respond because she was still unconscious.
Toneri still had a bit of humanity. Even though he took one of Hanabi's eyes, he did not make her suffer too much pain.
At least that was one less thing for Hinata to worry about.
