I look at the star chart in front of me and frown a little. We are a little bit lost. Not really lost, but rather we do not encounter any civilization in our path. According to the information from my father, there are scattered remnants of the Federation in this part of the galaxy, but so far, we have encountered none.
We encounter an empty solar system with only a few colony-worthy planets along the way. However, there is no civilization in those systems, not even a former civilization on planets we encounter. Either my father gave us the wrong information, or we are in the wrong part of the galaxy.
Rather than flying around aimlessly, I tell the explorer team to jump around using the Hyperdrive to check the local solar systems around us for a quick exploration. Not only is it a faster way to encounter civilization, but it is also a faster way to map the galaxy and the Hyperlane, which we can use for a quick jump between star systems.
While we are here, I tell some of the scientists that we are bringing to start creating an outpost in this solar system. To facilitate quick reinforcement and transport, I also tell them to create a Hyper Relay that allows any ship with a Hyperdrive to transport from the relay to any Hyperlane Beacon in the galaxy in an instant or vice versa.
As long as it is not above 1000 light-years away, it will be almost instant travel. Above that? It will be longer. It will take a few hours to reach the relay.
While looking through the star chart, I see one of the exploration team calling me. I put them through and see a captain of the 15th chapter, Captain Samuel Terrun.
"Father."
"Speak, my son, what have you found?"
"We found a civilization, Father. Sending you the coordinates and the image of the planet. We are now sending a probe and scanner to perform a full planet scan."
Receiving the package, I look at the planet in front of me and frown a little. It is a very polluted world filled with toxic fog. However, what catches my attention is the formation of the mountain on the planet. It is a formation that creates a symbol, a familiar symbol that makes me shudder. It is three circles with three arrows pointing in three directions, emerging from inside each circle.
It is the symbol of Nurgle.
Whoever is on that planet is able to create a mountain range to create that symbol. That means whoever is in there is a worshipper of Nurgle. Only a zealot could create that kind of thing.
"Father, our probes are coming back with a different result. Please take a look at this."
The probes manage to record movement on the planet's surface. It is a bunch of humans. They are all skinny and look like a bag of bones instead of humans. All of them are pale and look sickly. However, the footage ends abruptly, and the last thing it records is an alien race. It is a monstrous, corpse-like humanoid that releases green fog from every orifice on its body.
"We found one of the cancers, Father. Even from here, I can feel their influence, and if not for your light, I would be influenced. We are at the moment quarantining the others to make sure no influence of the Plague Lord sticks to our people. The Librarian and Apothecary are currently performing the Null cleansing."
"Good. Return for now. We shall make sure we are prepared."
"Of course, Father."
When the hologram disappears, I look back at the Star Chart and see the name of the planet. It is called Balam IV, but I have a feeling that this is a planet where one of my sisters is located. I look deep into the Warp, and I can feel the influence of Chaos coming from Balam IV, known now as Barbarus.
I cannot feel it from far away, and even from here, it feels very subtle. I need to focus very strongly to feel the rot and plague floating around the planet. The cancers manage to create a barrier around the planet and prepare for my sister's arrival. That bastard is able to hide all of this.
Lucky for us, my sister has not left the Warp and is still floating there. I can feel her soul that is supposed to arrive here in a few years. Now that I find Barbarus, I can feel Mortarion's soul in the Warp, and I am able to influence her pod slightly. I send my psychic energy and shroud her pod to fight the influence of Chaos. I nod my head in satisfaction. I can work with this. Nurgle attempts to shield her away from me, but I find her first, and I can now make sure my sister lands on a transformed world without the influence of Chaos.
== Line Break ==
The fleet arrives around the red planet. This is it. This is Barbarus, the planet where the Xenos rule and use their sorcery and more advanced technology to rule the entire planet. I can see orbital defense on the planet's surface, but strangely, no space outpost in this place. I thought it was a trap, but the scout did not find anything in the star system or the system around it.
I want to destroy this fucking planet, but there are humans in there, and I know my sister will still arrive here in the future. I cannot destroy this planet.
That means we need to perform a planetside battle.
I look at my sons and say.
"This will be a very different battle, my sons. Inside that planet are creatures filled with so-called blessings from one of the Four Cancers. They will release their disgusting fog to corrupt and control you. However, you are not regular people, are you, my sons?! You are my sons! You are Void Stalkers! We are the bane of Chaos, and no plague or rot shall beat you! We shall burn the xenos down and destroy the totems they built for their Gods and prove that they are not wanted in this galaxy!"
I nod my head at the roar coming from my sons, and after a few seconds, I continue.
"Then go. Go and show them what we are made of."
At my command, they start to walk to the drop pods and the carrier crafts to take them to the planet's surface. As for me, I walk to my personal carrier craft alongside my personal bodyguards called the Void Guards.
When my carrier leaves Star Explorer, I can see hundreds of drop pods already deployed and hundreds more carriers also flying alongside mine. We are scattered across the planet, dropping at important points on the planet that we can use as landing points and starting lines for the ground invasion.
We have already marked the points that need to be taken and which places the aliens use as their main bases. There are seven of them, with the most fortified located near where I will land. According to the lore, the leader of that peak should be Necare, the Pale King, Mortarion's father.
I ignore the shaking of the carrier as the defensive weapons on the planet attack us. The shield around my carrier is able to tank it all, and I trust my son, who handles the craft, to be able to dodge most of them.
It does not take long before we land on the ground, and as we leave the carrier, I can see the Tech Marines already building a fortress for us to defend, while the others are in formation defending against the undead golems that are releasing sickly green beams at my sons.
The beams can eat through the armor I built for my sons, but the Necrodermis in it is holding them back. It is good that I put it inside the armor; otherwise, this battle would have had more casualties than I thought.
I flex my psychic might and combine it with my Null energy. With a wave of my hand, the sickly beams disappear, and the undead golems fall to the ground, turning into ashes. However, I can see tens of thousands more undead golems marching from the mountain. Among them are ten-meter-tall undead abominations that release a roar that sounds like the screaming agony of thousands of humans.
It would be hard to fight them all with how much chaos juice is inside of them, but luckily for us, reinforcement is here. I can feel the ground shake as a massive mech lands on the ground. I grin a little at the sight of the mech unit arriving.
This is the mech I created using the STC. Humanity loves their mechs, and with all the technological knowledge in my head, I upgrade it even further.
I watch as one of the mechs points its back Heavy Plasma Cannon at the marching undead golems, including the massive golem walking toward us. It glows for a second before it releases a massive beam of plasma at the enemy.
Watching them turn into ashes makes me happy and giddy. I can feel my blood boil in excitement as my Primarch nature shows up. We are made for war, and it is starting to show in me. I need to be careful not to go overboard.
"Forward! Destroy them all! Leave no abominations alive!"
