The older beta spoke softly and no one showed any expression except confusion.
At first glance, anyone would be convinced that these people knew nothing. But a closer look betrayed their anxiety. The youngest of this group looked especially nervous and sweat covered his brows.
Despite this, they all remained calm and presented a united front.
Daniel knew that he was not going to get anything out of these people. At least, not by himself.
But the idea of asking Ivan to help him commit a crime was not pleasant either. Daniel wanted to avoid that if possible.
"I see. What a shame. I thought she would come to greet me because she promised. But I guess she's a little busy. Is there anywhere my partner and I can stay for the night? Since I came all the way here, I might as well stay and do a little sightseeing."
