Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Bocchi-chan Says Yes

Chapter 27: Bocchi-chan Says Yes

Early the next morning, thanks to Hiratsuka Shizuka's efficient work, Kazama Chiba smoothly completed his class transfer procedures and officially became a member of Class 2-F.

"Alright. Paperwork's done."

Hiratsuka Shizuka sat behind that desk piled high with lesson plans and empty cigarette packs, rubbing her somewhat darkened under-eye circles. She'd clearly spent last night arguing extensively with those stubborn administrators in the academic affairs office.

"Starting today, you're part of Class 2-F—my class. Don't worry. Here, nobody dares bully my students. Not even Takiya Genji."

"But keep your mouth shut from now on. If you pull yesterday's stunt again, I won't let you off easy."

She snorted pointedly, obviously still annoyed about Kazama's earlier fake marriage proposal comment.

"Thank you, Shizuka-sensei."

Kazama picked up the form and offered genuine thanks. Though this woman was violent and desperate to get married, her protective attitude toward students was genuinely admirable.

"Stop standing around. Come with me to the classroom."

Hiratsuka Shizuka grabbed her teaching pointer and stood to lead the way.

Class 2-F.

This classroom's location within the grade level was somewhat isolated, near the end of the hallway.

Kazama Chiba stood at the classroom entrance with his bag slung over one shoulder, looking up at the slightly crooked class nameplate.

"Class 2-F."

He repeated it mentally.

Just yesterday he'd caused such a commotion at this school, and today he was starting a new life already?

The first period happened to be Hiratsuka Shizuka's homeroom class.

Hiratsuka Shizuka stood at the podium, attendance book in hand, still wearing that white coat like a delinquent gang leader.

She rapped the blackboard, quieting the somewhat noisy classroom.

"Alright, everyone back to your seats."

She pointed at Kazama Chiba standing by the door.

"Let me introduce our class's new member, Kazama Chiba. Though he's transferring from the neighboring class, you probably aren't strangers to him, right? After all, this guy's been quite the trending figure at school lately."

Indeed, not strangers—anyone connected to a murder case definitely wasn't a good person.

The classroom instantly filled with whispered discussions. Kazama Chiba showed no reaction. He simply nodded briefly as a greeting.

Hiratsuka Shizuka wrote his name on the blackboard in extremely sloppy handwriting, then pointed to an empty seat—second from the back, by the window.

"Sit there."

Kazama Chiba nodded and carried his bag toward that legendary protagonist's homeland: the back row window seat.

As he walked, his gaze unconsciously swept across the faces of those classmates.

Then his eyebrow couldn't help but twitch.

Good grief.

Standing at the podium earlier, he hadn't noticed, but walking closer now—this wasn't some ordinary class. This was practically a large-scale slice-of-life anime filming location.

Front row center sat a glasses-wearing guy who looked serious but was secretly reading light novels—his old acquaintance Aki Tomoya.

The guy actually froze when he saw Kazama, clearly not expecting this follower who usually trailed after Eriri to show up here.

A bit further back.

That man sprawled on his desk with half-opened dead fish eyes, as if he'd lost all interest in the entire world—wasn't that Hikigaya Hachiman?

He only glanced up at Kazama once before flopping back down, probably mentally grumbling "normies should explode."

Not far from him sat a girl gossiping with her deskmate, sporting a distinctive dumpling hairstyle—unmistakably Yuigahama Yui.

And that gloomy girl sitting in the corner radiating an aura of "you can't see me, you can't see me"—if he wasn't mistaken, that should be Yotsuya Miko.

She seemed to sense the trace of magical energy lingering on Kazama, her shoulders trembling in fright.

Even Azusagawa Sakuta was here. That guy was calmly chatting with Makabe Masamune beside him, probably exchanging tips on how to handle tsundere girls.

Kazama Chiba felt his temples throbbing.

Hiratsuka-sensei, you're not running a class here—you're cultivating poison!

Stuffing so many protagonists with built-in trouble-magnet constitutions into one jar—could this school ever have a peaceful day?

This was practically Kamimizu City's Troublemaker Manufacturing Plant Concentration Camp.

If all these characters' storylines triggered simultaneously, this school would probably get blown sky-high.

"What are you spacing out for? Forget your legs in the hallway? Hurry up and sit down."

Hiratsuka Shizuka's chalk accurately flew over, interrupting his internal complaints.

Kazama Chiba finally sat down in his seat.

But before he could even set down his bag, a constantly bobbing hair antenna suddenly popped up from the neighboring seat.

"Yo! Ally!"

A lowered voice came from beside him.

Takanashi Rikka leaned her head over. That heterochromatic eye gleamed with delighted surprise in the sunlight.

"This is destiny's guidance! I never imagined we'd become deskmates! This must be the Unseen Horizon's arrangement!"

"This is Hiratsuka-sensei's arrangement."

Kazama Chiba pulled out his textbook from his bag without even looking up.

"Also, don't talk during class. Be careful or that real 'Demon King' (Hiratsuka Shizuka) will throw chalk at you."

"Hmph, a mere piece of chalk could never harm the Wicked Eye..."

Rikka snorted twice in defiance. Just as she was about to say more, a piece of chalk nailed her forehead.

Then came Hiratsuka Shizuka's voice: "Takanashi, what are you muttering about during class?"

"Ugh, nothing..."

Rikka clutched her head and released a pitiful whimper, honestly shrinking back and assuming a pose of attentive listening.

"Alright, quiet down."

Hiratsuka Shizuka rapped the blackboard again.

"Besides Kazama-kun, we have another new student joining us today."

She looked toward the doorway and raised her voice:

"Come in."

The classroom door slid open.

A female student's figure appeared in everyone's line of sight.

The girl before them wore Sakigawa High School's Western-style uniform. That white shirt was stretched taut, the scale even more exaggerated than Yuigahama Yui's they'd just seen.

Below the skirt hem were long legs wrapped in black tights, their lines so perfectly proportioned that eyes couldn't look away.

But what drew the most attention wasn't her hair color.

It was that face.

That face—Kazama Chiba was far too familiar with it.

It clearly belonged to the protagonist of "Bocchi the Rock!", Goto Hitori, also known as the famous "Bocchi-chan."

Except the Bocchi-chan before them wasn't wearing that iconic pink tracksuit.

Instead, she was displaying that wonderful figure openly and generously.

Especially that heavy weight at her chest, stretching the uniform somewhat tight, swaying slightly with her movements.

"This..."

Kazama Chiba froze.

Bocchi-chan?

That terminally socially anxious patient who turned to ash if someone looked at her and melted after speaking more than three sentences?

But according to the original story's setting, how could someone with Bocchi-chan's personality possibly transfer schools into an unfamiliar environment on her own initiative?

This script was all wrong.
