Beatrix looked over at Olivia and Pyra, her arms crossed tightly over her chest. "I can heal him, but you two need to leave us alone."
Olivia's eyes widened. "No way I'm leaving Liam with you," she snapped.
She glanced down at Liam's face, which was slick with sweat and twisted in pain.
'But… she's the only one who knows how to cure him.'
Pyra reached out and pulled Olivia by the arm.
"As much as I hate to say this, this woman Beatrix is competent when the time comes, even if she has a nasty mouth."
Beatrix hugged her chest even tighter, her eyes widening at the words. "Oh. Finally realizing my greatness?"
"No," Pyra cut her off coldly. She tugged Olivia along and gave Beatrix one last firm look. "Focus on healing him. You have half an hour."
The two girls stepped out of the mall. Liam heard the door lock behind them with a heavy click.
He lay there on his back, eyes closed, his whole body still burning from the mana drain.
