So when Neo initiated again—measured, open, leaving space for negotiation—the system responded in a way that felt… familiar.

The trajectory aligned.

Not perfectly.

But enough.

Connections formed along expected pathways. The lattice adjusted with minimal strain. The autonomous structure extended toward theirs, meeting it with a compatibility that echoed earlier states—before divergence, before refusal, before choice had become visible.

Lira exhaled, almost relieved.

"…Okay. That feels better."

Beatrix didn't respond immediately.

She was watching too closely.

Too precisely.
