Chapter 41 - 43. The Man Who Wants Her Power

Power attracts enemies.

But rare power…

Creates hunters.

And somewhere in the shadows—

Damien Volkov had just found the most valuable weapon in the world.

Elara Hart.

---

The underground room felt colder after reading the files.

Marcus moved toward the stairs.

"We have to leave now."

Ares still stood near the screen.

His mind was calculating possibilities faster than anyone else in the room.

"Elara," he said quietly.

She looked at him.

"Did you know?"

Her voice was soft but steady.

"No."

Marcus interrupted.

"Guys… we seriously need to go."

Luca's voice echoed through the comm device.

"Multiple vehicles approaching the warehouse."

Marcus cursed.

"That's Volkov's people."

Ares finally moved.

"Everyone upstairs. Now."

---

The Escape

They ran up the narrow staircase.

The metal door burst open as Marcus pushed it.

Cold night air rushed into the building.

But the moment they stepped outside—

Headlights appeared at the end of the road.

Three black SUVs.

Moving fast.

Marcus whispered.

"Too late."

Ares grabbed Elara's hand immediately.

"Stay behind me."

The vehicles stopped violently in front of the warehouse.

Doors opened.

Armed men stepped out.

Not rushing.

Not panicking.

They looked confident.

Like they already owned the night.

Marcus aimed his weapon.

"Tell me when."

But Ares raised a hand.

"Wait."

One of the men stepped forward.

Tall.

Sharp suit.

Calm smile.

Elara recognized him instantly.

"Rayan."

Marcus frowned.

"You know him?"

Ares's eyes darkened.

"Yes."

Rayan Arman stopped a few meters away.

He looked relaxed.

Completely unbothered by the tension.

"Well," he said casually.

"This reunion is unexpected."

Ares's voice turned cold.

"You're working for Volkov now?"

Rayan chuckled softly.

"Working for him?"

He shook his head.

"No."

"I'm working with him."

Marcus whispered.

"That's worse."

---

A Dangerous Proposal

Rayan looked directly at Elara.

"Good evening."

She didn't smile.

"Why are you here?"

Rayan answered calmly.

"To talk."

Marcus scoffed.

"You brought armed men for a conversation?"

Rayan shrugged slightly.

"Precaution."

Ares stepped forward.

"You have ten seconds."

Rayan smiled.

"You always were impatient."

Then he looked at Elara again.

"You read the files."

Her silence was enough of an answer.

Rayan nodded.

"Then you know why Volkov is interested in you."

Ares's patience ended.

"Say what you came to say."

Rayan tilted his head slightly.

"Volkov doesn't want to kill her."

"We know."

"He wants to recruit her."

Marcus laughed bitterly.

"That's not happening."

Rayan's eyes sharpened.

"Are you sure?"

Elara stepped forward slightly.

"What does he want from me?"

Rayan answered honestly.

"Your mind."

Silence followed.

Ares's voice dropped dangerously.

"Explain."

Rayan crossed his arms.

"Volkov believes the world is controlled by outdated systems."

"Governments."

"Corporations."

"Old power structures."

Marcus muttered.

"Sounds like every villain speech ever."

But Rayan ignored him.

"Project Helios proved something important."

He looked directly at Elara.

"One mind with the right abilities can reshape global power."

Elara's voice was steady.

"And Volkov thinks that mind is mine."

"Yes."

Ares's jaw tightened.

"And you're helping him."

Rayan sighed.

"I'm helping reality."

That sentence made Marcus angry.

"You're insane."

Rayan smiled faintly.

"Maybe."

Then he said something that froze the air.

"But I'm not wrong."

---

A Direct Offer

Rayan took a few steps closer.

His men stayed behind him.

No weapons raised.

No aggression.

Just quiet control.

"Elara," he said calmly.

"You have two choices."

Ares immediately stepped between them.

"She's not interested."

But Elara raised a hand slightly.

"Let him talk."

Rayan continued.

"Volkov is building something new."

"A system that doesn't rely on broken governments."

"Or corrupt billionaires."

Marcus muttered.

"Nice way to insult Ares."

Rayan ignored him again.

"With your mind… the system could work."

Elara asked quietly.

"And if I refuse?"

Rayan answered simply.

"Then Volkov will keep trying."

"How long?"

"Forever."

The honesty surprised everyone.

Ares finally spoke again.

"You're wasting your time."

Rayan looked at him.

"No."

"I'm offering something you can't give her."

Ares's eyes narrowed.

"And what is that?"

Rayan answered calmly.

"A world where her power isn't hidden."

Silence followed.

Because that sentence carried truth.

Elara had always been powerful.

But now—

They knew how dangerous that power truly was.

Ares stepped closer.

"You're trying to manipulate her."

Rayan shrugged.

"Or maybe I'm offering freedom."

Marcus whispered to Ares.

"This guy talks too much."

But Elara spoke before anything could escalate.

"My answer is no."

Rayan didn't look surprised.

"I expected that."

Marcus frowned.

"Then why come here?"

Rayan's smile returned.

"Because Volkov wanted to send a message."

Ares's voice dropped.

"What message."

Rayan looked directly at Elara.

"The hunt has officially begun."

Then he stepped back.

His men returned to the SUVs.

No attack.

No gunfire.

Just calm departure.

Marcus stared in disbelief.

"They came all the way here just to talk?"

Ares watched the vehicles disappear into the darkness.

"No."

His voice was colder than before.

"They came to confirm something."

Elara whispered.

"What?"

Ares looked at her.

"That you're real."

---

The War Begins

The night felt different now.

Heavier.

More dangerous.

Marcus sighed.

"Well…"

"That's bad."

Luca's voice came through the comm device.

"Guys… I just checked Volkov's network again."

"And?"

"It's expanding."

Ares asked quietly.

"How much?"

Luca answered.

"Global."

Silence followed.

Because they all understood what that meant.

This wasn't just personal anymore.

It was war.

And Elara—

Was the most valuable target on the planet.

Volkov has confirmed the truth.

Elara Hart is the key to his new world.

And now—

The hunt has officially begun.

But the biggest question remains:

Will Elara become the weapon Volkov wants…

Or the one that destroys him?
