Lin Feng scratched his head, a little embarrassed. "It's kind of messy — sorry you had to see that."
"No, no!" Su Qingwen quickly waved her hands, rushing to explain. "Your dorm's actually really clean! Really! And… actually, sometimes our girls' dorms can be pretty messy too!"
After saying that, she felt a bit shy, stuck out her tongue, and looked impossibly cute.
They walked side by side downstairs toward the commercial street by the campus gate.
Late summer evening — the sunset stretched its shadows long.
Maybe trying to break the awkwardness, they both looked for something to talk about, and without noticing, they ended up walking close enough that their arms brushed now and then.
"Senior Sister, have you eaten? Let me treat you," Lin Feng said first.
"I ate at noon. I'm trying to diet, so I skip dinner," Su Qingwen replied softly. "If you're hungry, I can keep you company."
"I just ate, but seriously — with a figure like yours, why diet?"
"You really know how to talk!" Su Qingwen covered her mouth and laughed.
Being praised for her figure made her genuinely happy inside.
They chatted loosely, their arms swinging naturally as they walked.
Suddenly, Lin Feng felt something soft and warm brush lightly against his hand — it was Su Qingwen's hand.
The touch was like a tiny electric current shooting from his hand straight through his whole body.
His heartbeat stuttered, and he instinctively pulled his hand back a little.
Su Qingwen reacted even more strongly — her whole arm stiffened, her easy swing turning awkward. Her fair cheeks flushed a lovely pink again.
A faint, ambiguous atmosphere hung in the air.
Neither said anything, just walked in silence, but both could hear the other's quickened heartbeat.
At a crossroads, the green light had only ten seconds left.
"Go!"
With the red light about to click on, Lin Feng didn't think — he just reached out and grabbed Su Qingwen's soft little hand.
"Move!"
She felt her hand engulfed in a large, warm palm, a strong pull dragging her forward as they ran.
Her mind went blank; she could only follow his steps, jogging across the street.
The wind lifted her long hair, brushing her cheeks. In her eyes, all she saw was Lin Feng's solid back as he pulled her along.
He looked so cool in that moment.
Once safely across, Lin Feng let go right away, as the handhold had only been for crossing.
"Whew, made it," he said with a grin, catching his breath.
The warmth left his palm, but an inexplicable sense of loss welled up in Su Qingwen's heart.
She quietly tucked her hand behind her back, gripping it tightly, as if still feeling his warmth and strength.
Her heart raced like a startled deer, leaving her uncertain.
Does the junior really like me?!
They stepped into the mall and were greeted by a giant digital billboard.
"Oh? Star Trek IV is out!" Su Qingwen's eyes lit up, pointing at the poster. "I've been waiting for this sci-fi movie!"
She turned to Lin Feng, eyes shining with hope and a question. "Junior, how about… we go watch it? My treat!"
"Sure!" Lin Feng agreed right away.
Who'd say no to watching a movie with such a pretty senior?
They grabbed their tickets and followed the staff into the theater.
In the dim lighting, Lin Feng saw their seat numbers and led Su Qingwen to the very last row.
As soon as they sat, he noticed something odd.
The seats in the back row were noticeably wider than the others, with almost no armrest between them — more like a small loveseat.
Most importantly, half-height dividers on both sides separated them from the neighboring seats, creating a relatively private little space.
Above the seats was a small sign: Couple Booth.
"I… I didn't know this was—" Su Qingwen realized too, instantly blushing furiously, voice barely audible. "My roommate said the back row has the best view for movies… I really didn't know…"
She started to stand up in a panic, but Lin Feng gently pressed her shoulder.
"It's fine, Senior Sister," he said, keeping his cool outwardly while grinning inside. "The back really does have a better view, and we've already bought the tickets — switching would be a hassle."
Su Qingwen bit her lip, then finally sat back down.
They were now incredibly close — shoulders practically touching.
The movie started, and the theater went completely dark.
In that instant, it felt like the whole world disappeared, leaving just the two of them in that tiny, shadowy cocoon.
Su Qingwen's faint perfume drifted to Lin Feng's nose, speeding up his heartbeat.
Even worse — her long, milky-white legs were right next to his.
She was wearing an ultra-short denim skirt, her thighs almost fully exposed, looking especially pale in the darkness.
Now and then, when she shifted position, her thigh would brush his leg, that cool, silky touch making him shiver.
Just then, the couple in the booth next to them let out some strange noises.
A man's hushed voice: "Your legs are so smooth…"
A woman's coquettish reply: "Keep it down, we're in a theater!"
"Oh, why'd you slide your hand further in…"
"Got me all sticky!"
Then came kissing sounds, the wet slide of lips, and the woman's muffled moans.
Su Qingwen's face instantly flushed crimson. She stiffened but forced herself to stare at the screen, pretending not to hear a thing.
Lin Feng's gaze drifted to her small hand resting on her thigh — fair, slender, nails neatly trimmed and painted soft pink.
Summoning courage he didn't know he had, he casually stretched out his hand and gently covered hers.
Su Qingwen trembled slightly but didn't pull away; only her breathing grew quicker.
Encouraged, Lin Feng turned his palm, slowly spreading his fingers.
To his delight, she cooperatively opened her hand too, letting his fingers weave between hers.
Ten fingers intertwined.
Their hands clasped tightly — Lin Feng could clearly feel her warmth, the slight dampness, and her trembling.
Su Qingwen's chest rose and fell rapidly; she was clearly on edge.
Is this what love feels like?
Compared to pure desire, this fluttery, heart-racing feeling was even more intoxicating.
