"But if he doesn't even know what his symbol is, what makes you think the others will know what it is?" the tanuki said quickly.
On the other hand, Matatabi had already had enough of her little brother's nonsense, so she smacked him on the head with one of her tails. Seeing the look the demon cat was giving him, the tanuki swallowed and fell silent. After all, pissing Matatabi off could only lead to one outcome... pain.
"Damon, first you need to learn about this world. You're already going to attract enough attention from the fact that you were claimed by a primordial and are the Champion of Chaos... don't add more reasons for the Olympians to come after you," Kaia added, having remained silent throughout the conversation until now.
Damon stayed silent for a few seconds.
He did not answer immediately. His gaze lowered for only a moment, calmly weighing the wolf's words. He knew she was partly right. In fact, he himself had already come to that conclusion a while ago.
Drawing too much attention in a new world was not exactly the smartest thing to do.
But at the same time, a part of him wanted to show a little. Not too much... just enough to plant some discomfort. And, if possible, send a small message.
After all, he knew perfectly well that this would end up reaching the gods' ears... if they were not already watching.
"I understand what you're saying," he finally replied in a calm voice.
He paused briefly before a faint smile appeared on his face.
"But a little fun wouldn't hurt... besides, I don't plan to keep beating around the bush forever."
A brief silence followed.
Even Kurama opened his single eye when he heard the blond's tone.
Kaia watched him silently for a few seconds, without taking her eyes off him.
Kurama let out a snort through his nose.
"Hmph. That sounds more like you," the fox muttered. "As long as you don't use it to act like an idiot in front of half the world, do whatever you want."
Matatabi swayed her tails softly, clearly more satisfied with that answer.
Kaia finally let out a small sigh. She knew perfectly well that when Damon made a decision, that was the one they followed, whether the others liked it or not. After all, he was the leader of the pack.
And without saying a single word more, a single thought was enough.
A third glow appeared above Damon's head.
And this time, the entire camp was completely paralyzed.
The silence that had already dominated the camp turned sepulchral.
For a god to claim someone the moment they set foot in the camp was already absurdly rare, something that could only happen if that person had done something great enough to catch the Olympian gods' attention...
For a primordial to do it... that was even worse. Or rather, impossible. Something like that had never happened before.
But for Damon to have already been claimed by two primordials was a monstrosity in itself, especially when they were Gaea, mother of nature, and Chaos, the creator of the universe.
And now a third had just joined them.
Above Damon appeared a symbol that, at first glance, looked ancient and divine: a golden scale at the center, guarded by a white wolf and a black wolf beneath a star-filled sky.
No one knew how to react to something like that.
No one recognized that symbol. No one knew which god it belonged to.
Chiron fell silent, unable to find any words. He did not recognize that mark... and that alone was unsettling. For an instant, he did not even know whether he should bow his head before it.
Damon, for his part, raised his eyes toward the symbol above his head. A strange surprise appeared on his face, half real, half feigned, as he looked upon the shape his emblem had taken for the first time.
Even the bijuu were surprised.
"A symbol worthy of my jinchūriki," Kurama said with obvious pride before returning to his usual tone. "Good. Now focus, the half-horse is approaching you."
Chiron had been carefully watching how the entire camp kept staring at the blond, and honestly, he could not blame them. He himself still could not quite believe what he was seeing. In all his years of training demigods, he had never witnessed anything even remotely similar.
Then he noticed that the blond, together with the enormous she-wolf, had not moved an inch from where they stood. Judging by Damon's expression, Chiron assumed that even he had not fully processed what had just happened.
"Are you alright?" the centaur asked as he cautiously approached the blond because of the she-wolf. He did not know how she would react to his approach.
The question pulled the blond out of his thoughts. Damon gave him a faint smile, trying to reassure him.
"Champion of Chaos, of Gaea... and of someone I don't even recognize. Seems like I have too many eyes on me," he said while looking Chiron in the eyes. "A lot to take in."
The centaur nodded in understanding, still incredulous...
"Come, I'll show you the camp."
The centaur turned around and began walking toward the camp, not noticing the nostalgic look the blond gave him. After all, he was his half-brother.
Chiron, like him, was a son of Kronos, and Damon still remembered their first meeting. It had not exactly been pleasant at first, but over time they ended up getting along quite well.
Damon started walking toward Chiron, but Kaia stopped him.
"Damon... I'd like to go—" said the she-wolf, but she was interrupted when the blond bent down to scratch her behind the ears. Kaia closed her eyes at the touch, making Damon smile tenderly.
"You can go with her, Kaia. I know you miss her, you don't need to ask me," Damon replied, knowing perfectly well what the she-wolf wanted to do. Kaia leaned even more into the blond's touch.
"Thank you," she replied sincerely, opening her eyes as she felt Damon's hands stop petting her.
"If you need anything, anything at all, call me. I'll be there in a second," the blond finished.
The she-wolf nodded before turning away, leaving the camp to follow the trail of Artemis and her Hunt.
From a distance, Chiron watched the interaction between the white she-wolf and Damon.
Even though he had not heard a single word, he had the strange feeling they were communicating somehow. That surprised him a little at first, but then he remembered Damon was connected to Gaea in some way and decided not to think too much of it.
He remained silent until he saw the white she-wolf leave the camp and the blond finally walk over to him, a smile on his face that seemed strangely familiar, giving him an odd sense of déjà vu.
"Curious wolf following you," Chiron casually remarked as he resumed walking to show the new arrival around camp.
"She-wolf," Damon corrected. "She's female."
Chiron merely nodded and began talking about the different places they would visit next, but he was interrupted by a thunderclap accompanied by a bolt of lightning that drew the attention of the entire camp.
The centaur let out a sigh while glancing sideways at the blond, who seemed not to care in the slightest about the loud crack of thunder.
"Things are going to get difficult," Chiron thought.

Apollo's Temple
Inside a temple surrounded by gold, the brightest ever created, as if it were a small sun itself, shining even in the night thanks to the faint light of the moon, sat Apollo.
He had the darkest circles under his eyes he had ever had in his life. Another sleepless night. He had already lost count of how many times he had cursed the day he became interested in the hero forgotten by everyone... or rather, the one they had been forced to forget.
The sunlight had only just begun peeking over the horizon, making the temple shine even brighter, if that was possible, but he had not moved from his desk.
Beside him were two notebooks.
The first one was something he wrote in over and over, only to start again from scratch, because he had recently begun using it to write down everything he knew about Damon: every legend his mother told when they were children, every detail he still remembered, every event connected to him.
That thought brought a tired smile to his face despite the lack of sleep.
He remembered those days when his mother, Leto, and his sister Artemis sat around a bonfire while she told them stories about the many events she had lived through with her brother. And several of those stories were precisely about the man who now robbed him of sleep with all the mysteries surrounding him.
As he kept writing down everything he remembered from one of those stories, he failed to notice someone entering his temple, something that did not happen often. No one could enter there without permission... no one except a few people.
"Apollo..."
A woman's soft voice was heard trying to get his attention.
When she received no response, she moved closer and noticed that the god was completely lost in thought, staring with a faint smile at the red notebook with golden details lying before him.
She stepped even closer and managed to read part of what he had written... one of the legends their mother used to tell them when they were little... but when she realized it was about that mysterious boy named Damon, she frowned slightly.
Though she did not show it, Artemis was worried about her brother.
After all, she had had to help her mother during childbirth, and seeing him like this now... on top of that, if you added the fact that it was all related to a boy, it irritated her even more. Why think about it so much?
At the end of the day, it was nothing more than that... a children's legend...
She moved a hand toward her brother's face and snapped her fingers in front of Apollo's nose to pull him out of his trance. To her reward, she succeeded.
Apollo blinked several times before realizing he was no longer alone. He was a little startled that he had not heard anyone come in, though he quickly calmed down when he saw his small, adorable, lovely little sister...
Good thing he did not say that out loud. His life as a man would be in constant danger.
"Arty?" he asked in confusion at Artemis's sudden appearance.
The moon goddess's eyebrow began to twitch.
Oh gods, how she hated that nickname.
"Stop calling me that," she said, with a hint of anger in her voice.
Apollo did what he always did in those kinds of situations...
He smiled.
That typical silly smile that showed off his perfectly white teeth, capable of making almost any woman tremble. Artemis, on the other hand, merely sighed, already used to it.
Setting the nickname aside, the goddess got straight to the point.
"There's a meeting called by Zeus," she said, completely getting Apollo's attention. He stopped smiling and put on an annoyed expression as he remembered what kind of meeting it was. "We were waiting for you, and you weren't coming down, so I had to come get you myself."
"Pff..." Apollo scoffed in annoyance. "What is it now?... Another stupid fight between Zeus and Poseidon?"
"Lady Chaos has claimed a champion," Artemis replied, the disbelief still present in her voice. Even now, she still could hardly believe it.
Alright, he definitely had not expected that.
Apollo's eyes widened like an owl's as he stared fixedly at his sister, looking for any sign of a lie in her words, but he found none.
A spark of excitement lit up his eyes.
"This is starting to get interesting," he said as he quickly stood up, splashed water on his face, and vanished in a golden flash alongside his sister, who let out a sigh at her brother's childish behavior.
What is Zeus gonna say )))))) Maybe one day y'all will find out...
