Chapter 166 - Chapter 166: Damn

"Fuck you," Georg spat.

At the insult, Damon went from calm to irritated in a matter of seconds. With a quick movement, he drove a devastating kick into Georg's stomach. Georg went flying and slammed violently into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust as he was buried inside a small crater.

The human expelled a huge mouthful of blood from the impact, but Damon didn't grant him a single second to recover. Two enormous spheres of energy appeared above the redhead's hands and, without a second thought, he hurled them straight at Georg, who was still lying among the rubble.

But Georg wasn't the bearer of one of the four most powerful Longinus for nothing. He summoned his Sacred Gear quickly, and a thick purple mist began to spread from his body, covering everything around him. When the two spheres of energy came into contact with the fog, they vanished without causing any explosion, as if they had never existed.

Damon watched what happened with a certain surprise. He hadn't expected the human's Longinus to possess an ability like that. It wasn't that he was completely in the dark about the Longinus; he simply had only ever faced two of them personally: Boosted Gear and Divine Dividing. Beyond those two, the others had never interested him enough to investigate.

Even so, Damon had to admit that the Biblical God had been someone worthy of fear. The creation of weapons capable of granting such power to mere humans was, without a doubt, one of his greatest feats.

With those thoughts in mind, Damon noticed how the purple mist of Dimension Lost kept spreading across the whole area. He raised an eyebrow as he perceived several invisible magical structures surrounding him, all covered in symbols. One after another, they began to connect through lines of energy, sealing the space around him.

Georg remained standing despite the blood dripping from his mouth. His breathing was ragged, but at the same time, the human seemed euphoric.

In the blink of an eye, Damon appeared inside an enormous grayish space. The mist covered every corner of what he identified as an artificial dimension, similar to the ones Kaguya used to create.

Georg appeared a few meters away. A confident smile formed on his face as he adjusted his bloodstained glasses.

"It's over," he declared. "Inside this dimension, I control everything. I can block your attacks, trap you here, or transport you straight to the Dimensional Gap. Even Odin, the All-Father, couldn't escape this."

Damon simply shoved his hands into his pockets, looking unaffected by the brown-haired man's words. He had to admit the ability was dangerous. It wasn't flashy or especially offensive, but the capacity to isolate someone and transport them to any place chosen by its bearer would be a huge problem for most.

Georg extended both hands, and the barriers began to close in on Damon. The mist condensed around him, nullifying the space between each layer and eliminating any escape route.

"Your strength doesn't matter anymore," Georg continued as his smile widened. "As long as you remain here, everything is under my control."

Damon extended one hand and let his power reach the layer of the artificial dimension. Georg expected him to try to break it with brute force, so he smiled, ready to return the attack with the same intensity.

But unfortunately for the magician, a black energy began to spread rapidly from Damon's hand. And as if it were nothing, the barrier protecting the layer simply vanished...

Faced with this turn of events, Georg stood frozen for a moment. The simple fact that he hadn't even had the chance to react left him completely bewildered.

Damon began to advance toward him. His destructive power expanded around him, permeating the purple mist of Dimension Lost, which couldn't even manage to defend itself before fading away.

"As I already told you, you have an impressive ability," Damon acknowledged. "You could certainly trap most gods without too much trouble. Though it's a shame you're using it this way. I have no doubt that Longinus has far more potential than what you're showing." He observed him with a hint of disappointment. "You're wasting it."

Georg clenched his teeth. "Shut up! Shut up!" he shouted, getting far more irritated than he would have liked... Damon's words reminded him too much of the ones his own father had spoken when he discovered that Georg hadn't managed to qualify for Grauzauberer, the magic association founded by his ancestor.

With the bad memories invading his mind, Georg raised both hands and forced the mist to move quickly to repair the damage Damon had caused. At the same time, he tried to wrap the redhead and transport him out of the dimension. The mist covered the god's body. In response, Damon simply extended his power over it. The fog faded faster than Georg could recreate it.

The human looked at Damon with fury and released even more power, gradually losing control. "No matter how much power you have! You're not going to win! You can't destroy my dimension from the inside!"

Damon couldn't help but smile at the wrath and total denial the magician was showing. It was always entertaining to watch someone who considered themselves superior to others because of their intelligence start to crumble the moment they lost control of the situation. "Boy, for a human like you, reality is reality."

Damon rose slowly, keeping his gaze fixed on Georg as if he were nothing more than an insect. At the same time, an enormous black crack appeared on the horizon of the dimension. "But for someone like me, a true god, reality is just an illusion I can play with." With that said, everything around him began to crumble into particles.

Georg watched the destruction in panic. He shook his head again and again and tried to maintain control, but all his efforts were in vain. And just like that, the entire artificial space burst into a storm of mist and fragments of light.

Georg fell to his knees on the earth, breathing hard while blood ran from his nose. Even so, he remained conscious and tried to get up.

Only one thought crossed his mind... Escape this place as fast as possible.

And with that in mind, the brown-haired man turned around and started running, but Damon raised a hand toward him. A violent blizzard slammed into Georg head-on and stopped his advance. The human clenched his teeth and leaned his body forward, trying to move despite the pressure, but he couldn't take a single step.

The wind entered directly through his mouth, deforming his cheeks in an almost comical way and forcing him to show all his teeth. His glasses shattered under the pressure, and several fragments lodged around his eyes. "AAAH! MY EYES!"

Georg squeezed his eyelids shut while tears of blood ran down his face. Before he could regain his balance, the current suddenly changed direction and hurled him backward.

Straight toward Damon.

The redhead was already waiting for him. He spun on himself and launched a devastating kick toward Georg's back, aiming directly at his spine. The human, still disoriented and with his vision covered in blood, had no chance of defending himself.

However, before Damon's leg could reach him, an enormous sword of light cut through the space between them. The redhead stopped the movement a few centimeters from the weapon and deflected it with the sole of his foot, sending it crashing into one of the nearby buildings. Georg passed by, falling to the ground, rolling several times until he lay sprawled among the rubble.

"You damned insect!" The shout traveled across the entire sky, immediately drawing Damon's attention.

A silhouette advanced toward him at great speed, crossing the sky while leaving a trail of black feathers. Damon immediately recognized Kokabiel.

The Cadre's clothes were completely torn to shreds, his face covered in blood, and several of his wings had lost a great number of feathers. Honestly, Damon was somewhat surprised to see him back on his feet.

Though it wasn't as if Damon had tried to kill him. After all, he had only given him one blow. He had expected the Cadre to flee, not to stupidly come back.

But obviously Kokabiel had other thoughts in mind; the Cadre's completely bloodshot eyes made that clear, or at least that's what Damon assumed. Kokabiel extended his ten wings as far as he could. Thousands of black feathers detached from them and shot toward the redhead, covering practically the entire underworld sky before Damon.

Faced with the imminent attack, Damon opened his hands and a white light began to wrap around his fingers. Hundreds of tiny metallic figures shaped like birds appeared in front of him, seeming to come to life as they unfolded their newly formed wings and rose into the sky, entirely focused on intercepting Kokabiel's feathers.

The two swarms clashed in midair, producing thousands of metallic sounds as the birds created by Damon caught the feathers between their claws and beaks. Kokabiel cursed upon seeing his attack stopped and, as if that weren't enough, his eyes grew even more bloodshot, if such a thing were possible...

And in a display of control, Damon clenched his fist, and the metallic creatures compressed together along with the captured feathers, fusing into a single mass. In a matter of seconds, the material took the form of an enormous black-and-silver spear that spun in the Cadre's direction.

"Here, try my spear and see if you like it," the god said with a mocking smile. And without further ado, the spear shot forward.

Kokabiel crossed several swords of light in front of his body and managed to deflect the weapon, but the force of the impact stunned him enough to make him lose his balance. The Cadre tried to recover, though Damon, in a display of speed, had already appeared in front of him.

The redhead drove a knee straight into his face. Kokabiel's head snapped backward while two teeth left his mouth along with a gush of blood. However, before the blow could send him flying through the air, Damon grabbed him firmly by the hair.

Both of them began to plummet..... While Kokabiel tried to spread his wings to regain control, but Damon wouldn't allow it. Mid-fall, he spun him violently and began hitting him again and again in the face, each punch making more blood and black feathers scatter into the air.

Seconds later, both slammed into the ground..... Damon used the Cadre's body to break through, burying him several meters into the base while the floor shattered beneath them. The fall ended in the middle of a crater, but the redhead didn't stop. Still holding him by the hair, he lifted his bloodied face and smashed it against the ground again.

And again... and again.

Each impact widened the crater and deformed Kokabiel's face even more. Blood began to spread beneath his head while the ground sank with every blow. His attempts to resist grew weaker and weaker, until his arms fell limp at his sides.

Damon lifted him one last time, forcing him to show his destroyed face. "Now you understand why you shouldn't touch what doesn't belong to you, right?"

The Cadre tried to answer. He opened his mouth, but almost all of his teeth were gone and a sea of blood covered his entire face.

"Hng... st..." That was all the Cadre managed to force out of his mouth.

Damon gave him one last cold look before smashing him against the ground again, this time face-down. He placed a foot on his back to keep him pinned and closed a hand around his hair.

Kokabiel knew exactly what was about to happen... His fingers began clawing desperately at the ground while Damon pulled his head backward. A choked scream escaped his throat, accompanied by the sound of bones crunching under ever-increasing pressure.

"NGHHH—AAAAAAAH!"

The Cadre's scream spread across the entire base.

Damon didn't give two fucks... The muscles of Kokabiel's neck began to tear one after another. Blood shot across the ground while his body convulsed beneath the redhead's foot. The wet sound of flesh separating mixed with the crunch of his vertebrae until, with one last brutal pull, the head was torn off completely, along with part of the spine that remained attached to it.

Damon kept his foot on the corpse for a few seconds, holding the Cadre's bloodied head between his fingers while everything around him fell into sepulchral silence. However, it didn't last ten seconds...

A voice suddenly resonated across the entire battlefield... A voice Damon recognized instantly, even though many years had passed since the last time he had heard it.

"Divide."

Damon's blue eyes narrowed.

"Divide."

A familiar pressure descended from the sky while the energy around Damon began to diminish. Damon slowly raised his gaze. Among the clouds appeared a figure covered in white armor, with enormous wings of light spread behind its back.

A deep voice rumbled from the armor, more specifically from its wings... "It's been a long time, Damon."

The redhead dropped Kokabiel's head, letting it fall beside the corpse...."Well, look who it is…" 🫵😂
