Oh and I almost forgot to explain why Eli was still hurt or injured in the past chapters so here is some research I got from wiki ( Vibranium works by absorbing kinetic energy, but it has a limit. Ryan Meinerding, the head of visual development at Marvel, explained a concept version of this scene that perfectly illustrates the principle.
He imagined Thanos breaking the shield not with a single strike, but by overwhelming it with a sustained assault:
· Consistent, Powerful Blows: Thanos would hit the shield repeatedly with his sword.
· Overloading the Absorption: Each blow would force the Vibranium to absorb immense amounts of kinetic energy.
· Structural Failure: Eventually, the metal's ability to absorb energy would be exceeded, causing its molecular structure to fail and shatter, just like a glass that has been stressed beyond its limit.)
