"That's so cool!"
Satoru jumped up excitedly the moment she saw Infinite Blue and its Maximum output. Increasing gravity and decelerating time—how awesome was that?
"What about Infinite Red? Does it do something like time acceleration? If so, that would be a match made in heaven for me!"
Throughout Heaven and Earth, only she could control both space and time.
Her imagination soared wildly.
To be honest, for the past few years Satoru had never considered Limitless a particularly powerful technique. The main reason was simple: she had barely been able to develop its true potential.
Right now, she could only use Infinity and Blue. Even Infinity was difficult to maintain—there was always a brief window of a few milliseconds before she could activate it. On top of that, keeping Infinity active drained an enormous amount of mental focus, making it nearly impossible to prepare in advance for surprise attacks.
"Infinite Red pulls the fabric of spacetime upward, creating powerful repulsion," Rutosa explained. "As for Maximum: Infinite Red… yes, it's exactly what you're thinking. It can accelerate time—or more precisely, contract it around a target."
Maximum: Infinite Red allowed the user to speed up time in a localized area. However, the technique came with a significant drawback.
"You might think you could use it to accelerate an enemy until they decay right before your eyes… but sorry to crush that dream."
"While it can do that, it can also make the target move faster, think faster, attack harder, and even regenerate quicker. In other words, you'd be living in normal time while your opponent exists in an accelerated world."
"Huh? Then isn't this technique completely useless? Why would you want to buff the enemy?"
Satoru's excitement instantly cooled. She hadn't expected Infinite Red to be a technique that could strengthen her opponent. Suddenly, it didn't sound so impressive anymore.
"You can't look at it that way," Rutosa said, shaking his head. "You have better options than buffing the enemy—you can buff yourself and your teammates."
"Teammates?" Satoru scoffed. "I don't need burdens like that. The strongest doesn't need teammates, and I'm the strongest."
Rutosa rolled his eyes.
"(If I didn't know the future, I'd actually believe she'd stay a lone wolf forever.)|
"(However, the future version of you will teach many amazing students… and at that time, you'll be incredibly grateful for how useful this technique can be.)"
"Well, aside from combat, Maximum: Infinite Red is also excellent for sealing and research. I don't want to brag, but it's incredibly powerful for R&D in my company."
Thanks to the time acceleration effect, the progress of Rutosa's cross-species hybridization projects had become the fastest in the world. Just a few months after he mastered Reverse Cursed Technique, he had already successfully created highly adaptable plant seeds capable of thriving in harsh and rapidly changing environments.
It generated huge profits for his companies, but more importantly, it pushed humanity's agricultural productivity to a whole new level. While it couldn't completely solve world hunger—because the real issue wasn't production—it still made the world a much better place by ensuring more people could eat their fill.
"As for sealing… imagine creating an impenetrable barrier that can trap a target for ten seconds. Those ten seconds might not be enough to deal with a strong enemy. But what if the time inside that barrier stretches into one minute… one hour… one day… one month… or even decades and centuries?"
A chill ran down Satoru's spine when she heard that.
Being trapped in the same place for decades or even centuries? Even the Queen of Curses, Sukuna, might lose her mind.
Of course, the conditions were extremely difficult to meet. The barrier had to be truly impenetrable, or at least strong enough that the enemy couldn't grow stronger during the accelerated time and break free.
It was essentially a Hyperbolic Time Chamber with no exit.
However, if used properly, she could also turn any area into a Hyperbolic Time Chamber to train at an insane speed. Combined with the time dilation from Infinite Blue, she would essentially have all the time in the world. The enemy might not even survive a single round against her.
"But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Infinite Red is still too far away for you right now."
Rutosa shook his head. A brat who couldn't even use Reverse Cursed Technique was already daydreaming about Infinite Red?
"Tsk. What a party pooper," Satoru grumbled. "Then what about the Hollow Technique? Infinite Purple must have something to do with spacetime too, right?"
"Er…"
Rutosa fell silent. He honestly had nothing to say—because he still couldn't use Hollow Technique: Purple himself.
Purple wasn't simply smashing Blue and Red together. It was the collision of infinities—convergence and divergence breaking through the fabric of spacetime and manifesting imaginary mass from nothing.
In simple terms, it was a micro big bang.
For some reason, Rutosa couldn't achieve that yet. He suspected the main issue was the lack of Six Eyes. After all, those who could fully utilize Limitless from the start were always born with Six Eyes. For someone without them, mastering both Blue and Red was already the limit.
That was exactly why he had worked so hard to develop new extensions like Infinite Blue and Infinite Red.
"Come outside with me. I'll teach you another powerful move using Infinite Blue."
Rutosa quickly changed the subject and gestured for Satoru to follow him outside.
"Ehhhh, but I want to see Infinite Red and Infinite Purple!"
As if! He couldn't even use Purple yet, and she wanted him to demonstrate it? This cheeky kid had definitely noticed his awkwardness through the Six Eyes and was teasing him on purpose.
Before long, the two of them stepped outside into an open area with nothing but clear sky above them.
"What I'm about to teach you is currently my strongest technique."
Hearing the seriousness in Rutosa's voice, Satoru's expression turned solemn.
"Infinite Blue generates gravity. Although gravity is considered the weakest of the four fundamental forces, and many people think it's just an inferior version of telekinesis, there's actually much more to it."
"Do you know the speed of light? Light travels at 299,792,458 meters per second. For anything with mass to reach that speed, it would require an astronomical amount of energy. At the speed of light, the required energy becomes infinite."
"That's why it's an established fact that nothing with mass can travel faster than light."
"But with Infinite Blue," Rutosa said with a faint smile, "you can prove them wrong."
He raised his hands, and Infinite Blue activated. Gravity visibly distorted around his palms, creating a dark, almost black construct that seemed to swallow light itself.
A sleek black bow formed in his hands.
"The next stage of Infinite Blue is gravity construction—creating physical objects from pure gravitational force."
"This move requires a gravity bow, so I made one. But in reality, you're not limited to just a bow."
In his other hand, a light arrow made of concentrated Blue appeared.
"Gravity for the bow. Blue for the arrow. Everything needed for this technique is already here."
"Look carefully, Satoru. This move might be faster than even your Six Eyes can track."
Satoru frowned and focused all her attention on the Gravity Bow and Light Arrow.
"In scientific circles, there's a theoretical faster-than-light propulsion concept called the warp drive, or curvature drive."
"The idea is simple: since an object can't travel faster than light, just make the destination come to the object instead. All you need is to wrap the object in a 'warp bubble'—a distorted region of spacetime that contracts space in front and expands it behind."
"The object inside the warp bubble doesn't actually move. It simply rides the wave of spacetime as it pushes forward. Because the object itself isn't moving, it doesn't violate Einstein's Theory of Special Relativity."
Rutosa released the arrow.
The moment his fingers let go, the Light Arrow vanished from sight, shooting into the sky faster than the eye could follow.
BOOOM!!!
The next second, the same arrow that had finished traveling around the Earth appeared from behind Satoru and slammed into a distant mountaintop, triggering a massive explosion. A mushroom cloud of dust rose into the sky as heat, light, and a powerful shockwave washed over them.
Thankfully, the explosion was far away and both of them had Infinity active, so they remained completely unharmed.
"One-eighth the speed of light… approximately 37,474,057 meters per second. Not bad, but still far from its true limit."
"Satoru, listen carefully. The ultimate limit of this technique is faster-than-light speed. At that level, it can even distort causality itself."
"That means the moment you fire the arrow, the effect of it hitting the target is already established. An FTL attack also carries a time-travel aspect which mean it can strike the target in the past, present, and future simultaneously."
"This is gravity manipulation, Satoru."
(I just remembered that there was this fanfic so I just come back with one chapter.)
