At this Five Kage Summit, ShikaShiranui Kū Nara primarily reported on the Heavenly Curtain, the Akatsuki, Obito Uchiha, the Eye of the Moon Plan, Black Zetsu, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, and the looming threat of extraterrestrial Ōtsutsuki.
The Five Kage each voiced their opinions on these matters.
With Hashirama Senju and MEidara Uchiha present, the issue of the Akatsuki and Obito Uchiha seemed far less pressing.
As for Black Zetsu, however, everyone unanimously agreed to issue a wanted order. No one knew whether that insidious schemer was still plotting something in the shadows—or how he might attempt to carry out the Eye of the Moon Plan.
Regarding Kaguya Ōtsutsuki and the extraterrestrial Ōtsutsuki, the atmosphere grew heavy. Kaguya, at least, was sealed within the moon by the Sage of Six Paths.
But the latter posed a far more uncertain threat. No one knew when he might strike in the future.
Having already witnessed Six Paths–level power, the Kage were on the highest alert toward the extraterrestrial Ōtsutsuki.
At last, Minato Namikaze stepped forward to outline KonohagaShiranui Kūre's upcoming course of action. As for inter-village cooperation and communication plans, those were discussed collectively by the Five Kage.
Although the goal was to oppose the extraterrestrial Ōtsutsuki, each village still harbored its own interests.
The other four Kage attempted to negotiate with Konoha over matters concerning their respective villages' benefits. Remembering the words of the Second Hokage, Minato spoke firmly:
"There is one point I ask you not to forget—Nagi and the others belong to Konoha.
If we continue to argue endlessly over individual village interests, then when the extraterrestrial Ōtsutsuki attacks, Nagi may not be able to act without reservation.
And even if Nagi defeats this invading Ōtsutsuki, there is still Shibai Ōtsutsuki and the Ōtsutsuki Clan behind him. Should they launch a full-scale assault on the Shinobi World, Nagi—and Konoha—will not be able to protect everyone.
So I ask that you all look out for one another and show a measure of tolerance."
Though his tone was gentle, his words were strict. In recent days, Minato had begun to resemble Nagi in that regard.
The four Kage lowered their heads.
Minato was stating facts. More importantly, Tobirama Senju was seated right there. If he became displeased and instructed his disciple not to concern himself with other villages, their survival would be grim indeed.
In the end, no matter how one put it, maintaining a good relationship with Nagi was paramount. A Six Paths–level shinobi could erase a village with a mere gesture.
Thus, at the close of the summit, the four Kage sought Tobirama's opinion, expressing their hope to pay Nagi a visit.
After all, Hashirama and Tobirama were living near Nagi's home, while MEidara resided in the Uchiha Clan Compound with his younger brother.
Now that Nagi's strength had been exposed, Tobirama was concerned that Kara might launch a sudden assault on KonohagaShiranui Kūre. In the eyes of Isshiki Ōtsutsuki, Nagi had likely already been marked as a prime vessel candidate.
…
After the summit concluded, Tobirama agreed to allow the visit—but only when either Hashirama or MEidara was present.
It might have seemed overly cautious, but prudence was always wise. Most shinobi did not possess particularly high durability; assassination attempts still had a reasonable chance of success.
…
Evening arrived.
This time, Nagi's house had gained several additional guests.
For example—
"You're amazing, Gaara!"
Naruto Uzumaki stared as Gaara manipulated sand with fluid precision, using it to control cooking utensils and prepare food. He hadn't expected Gaara to be this skilled in the kitchen.
Gaara replied calmly, "I used to cook alone with my sand quite often. I'm used to it. And my sister has given me some guidance these past few days."
Not to be outdone, Sasuke Uchiha activated his Three-Tomoe Sharingan and began slicing vegetables at high speed.
Ameno used a Chakra Scalpel to fillet the fish on the cutting board.
Shizuka infused Wind Release chakra into her knife, harvesting vegetables at a rapid pace.
Samui coated her cookware in Lightning Release chakra, demonstrating a unique style of electric cooking.
In short, it was a display of every trick in the book.
Yet everyone shared the same simple goal—to earn Nagi's praise. Even those who didn't admit it aloud secretly looked forward to it.
"Fine. In that case, I won't lose either!"
Naruto crossed his fingers.
"Shadow Clo—pff!"
"Stop it, Naruto."
Nagi brought a hand down sharply onto Naruto's forehead.
"But I want to help too!" Naruto protested stubbornly.
Not wishing to reject his enthusiasm, Nagi relented.
"Then Naruto, go buy some more ingredients. We might be short on vegetables and meat."
His gaze sharpened.
"And besides… it's time to show them what real skill looks like."
When it came to cooking, Nagi was absolutely serious.
"I—I got it! I'll go right away!"
Startled by Nagi's sudden aura, Naruto grabbed the list and immediately created Shadow Clones to split up and shop.
Meanwhile, in the living room—
"Hahaha! We get to eat my grand-disciple's cooking again! Excellent!"
Hashirama laughed heartily, eyes fixed on the kitchen with anticipation.
He would absolutely not admit that his suggestion to move near Nagi's home had anything to do with the food. It was purely out of concern for his grand-disciple. Definitely.
"Hmph. I suppose I can look forward to it as well."
Seeing Hashirama's enthusiasm, MEidara grew curious.
On one sofa sat MEidara and Hashirama. Beside them were Izuna Uchiha and Tobirama, who shot each other brief sideways glances before immediately looking away. For some reason, neither could stand the sight of the other.
Mabui and KanShiranui Kūrō were also present.
Seriously—how did all of them end up here?
In the distance, Atsui and Might Guy were passionately discussing youth, occasionally shedding tears and embracing each other as if nothing were amiss. The more they talked, the more they felt a sense of kindred spirits meeting at last.
"Coming here with the Fourth Raikage was absolutely the right decision!"
Elsewhere—
Minato forcibly seated Kakashi Hatake and Genma Shiranui, then placed a book on the table and opened it before them.
"Kakashi, Genma—choose one."
"Um… Sensei, can we talk about this later?"
"No. If Shiranui Kūshina shows up first, she'll beat you two up before anything else."
"..."
On the table lay a collection of profiles—eligible young women of Konoha—gathered at Minato's request through the Third Hokage. In truth, Hiruzen Sarutobi had prepared such information for them long ago.
Noticing that Kakashi and Genma were older than himself and still single, Minato had decided, in his capacity as both their teacher and the Hokage, to personally oversee the matter.
"Uh… Sensei… could we really not postpone this? I don't have the time or energy right now."
"Yeah, Fourth Hokage-sama, I'm not thinking about that either."
"I understand. But your deadline isn't far off. Nagi may revive Shiranui Kūmo Hatake in the future—and he'll surely want to hold a grandchild."
"And Genma, as the older cousin, you should set an example."
"..."
Coming here with their teacher had been a terrible decision.
If only they'd known, they would have stayed home.
I really want to complain.
