And with that, the army of Zudrath City created a unique and powerful unit that would someday conquer the vast grasslands of the world, not with swords, not with spears, but with a thirty round AR-556 rifle.
While the army of Zudrath City began it's first evolution of weapons, another kind of evolution has occurred to the far West of the lands.
---
Inside a military tent, six generals stood around a wooden table, their expressions dark as they stared at an unrolled map, their eyes are hollowed out by sleep deprivation.
The constant battles that are occurring on the central plains have drained all the energy from the generals, rest have become a luxury they could no longer afford.
One general sighed while tapping his finger on a certain location of the map, "the southern army are camping in this river here, about a hundred kilometers away from Hubog City," he said, his tone low but carried visible traces of frustration, "we need to do something about it, General Ghuran, can your cavalry handle it?"
Another general stepped forward, his face no different than the other generals, he has suffered the same sleepless nights of discussing strategy about the matter of the southern kingdom, sleep deprivation has hollowed their eyes into pale, empty shells, it was the Commanding-General of the cavalry unit, Kah Ghuran.
"I will handle the souther army, " Kah Ghuran said tiredly, his mouth dry as he forced them to speak, "I will send five thousand cavalries and appoint Bho Thong as the leading general."
Just as the matter was settled, another general stepped forward, dark circles layered underneath his eyes, like a panda that wore full set of iron armor leading an entire army into war, it was the Commaning-General of the infantry unit, Gar Do
"Take ten thousand infantry as well, " Gar Do said, "we will wipe out those southern rebels entirely."
With that, the matter was settled, they carried out the plan as if discussing trade routes rather than a large scale war, clearly not wanting to dwell further on the situation and prepared to address the second problem.
Just as they were about to discuss other complications, the sound of hooves thundering on the ground suddenly echoed across the militart barracks as a scout came galloping at speed, his eyes were hollowed out much like the other generals, his lips dry and his bones were clearly visible, as if the scout had not eaten or drink in days.
The scout charged straight into the military tent, he dismounted in one fluid motion, and dashed toward the circling generals.
"Report, urgent report." The scout said, barely able to form a formal salute as he stumbled forward to the ground, his knees finally gave out from days of starvation and exhaustion, "an army has appeared on Lomban Town, they have ravaged the surrounding villages and has massacred countless residents. Lomban town is now defended by Lieutenant Tor Phe, but he only has five hundred men and against him are eight thousand southern soldiers, he will not be able to hold the town for long."
The generals listened to the report with a hollow glare, exhaustion and lack of sleep have drained their eyes dry, what onlt remained are pale, empty shells.
"Send five thousand reinforcements," Gar Do waved lazily, as if dismissing a trivial matter that doesn't concern the lives of innocent civilians.
The scout was escorted back to the military barracks, was given food and a proper rest, while the five thousand reinforcements marched slowly toward Lomban Town carrying the same atmosphere of the southern army that captured innocent women and children, and sold them as slaves or for personal use.
As the soldiers marched out, another figure came galloping toward the tent, it's large frame draped in bright jewelries and fancy red robes, at it's head stood a golden crown, glinting as it was struck by sunlight.
The three hundred pound king has arrived, King Gob Som Cena, the ruler of the Westeen Kingdom.
King Gob Som Cena rode toward the military tent with a casual smile, his horse stumbled and staggered slightly as it carried the King's massive frame, breathing heavily as if silently cursing the obese ruler riding casually while the horse suffered intensely from it's heavy weight.
The King stopped right in front of the military tent's entrance, two palace guards immediately reined their horses and assisted the King in dismounting on his exhausted horse, helping him land safely on the ground.
Inside the tent, the King's appearance had already reached the nerals who had been discussing frontier affairs just moments ago, when the news was reported, the generals immediately straightened their armor, brushed off the dirt and dusts, and prepared to receive the king.
Soon, King Gob Som Cena sat in a stone chair, it's body slumped downward like ice cream melting from it's cone, and before him knelt six generals, their heads bowed down, their posture formal, yet the constant toll of battle and endless planning of strategies has made their eyes hollow and cold.
King Gob Som Cena was happily chewing over a sheep's roasted leg, a hint of oil still holding beside his lips, like someone who accidentally fell into an abyss and refusing to let go of its remaining foothold.
The generals watched with awkward silence, clearly speechless at the kings voracious appetite.
As the generals were awkwardly mesmerizing the King's happy meal, one general suddenly cleared his throat and stood to relay the situation, it was the Grand Marshall of the Western Kingdom, General Ahn Dey.
"Your majesty, " Ahn Dey said, his tone low and calm, almost reassuring, " the matter of the southern kingdom has yet to end. We have received intelligence that a detachment of the southern army are camping right beside Hubog City, we have already dispatched troops to resolve the situation."
However, King Gob Som Cena showed no visible trace of concern, instead, he continued munching on his roasted meat, utterly unfazed, because to him, he had confidently believed that the matters regarding the Southern Kingdom would be effortlessly resolved by his Grand Marshall, and it was only a matter of time before the issue is fully settled.
