Chapter 16 - just think of it like camping on the weekend

Whispers were heard as 600 people from 6 classes were in the same place, looking at one another.

A voice appeared, breaking the whispers of the 600 people.

"You can all enter the VR capsules now."

They all looked at each other, but began doing what they were told.

Alex looked around at his friends who were starting to enter the capsules one by one.

A sigh escaped from his mouth.

Alex placed his hand on the capsule lid, and the capsule opened.

Sret

Alex entered and began to lie down. A cold sensation spread across his skin and his back felt comfortable as he lay down.

The capsule closed again.

Sret

A voice echoed inside the capsule.

"Player confirmed…"

"Alex Sander… representative of Class 1C."

Alex swallowed.

"Points owned: 100."

"Mission: survive for three days and obtain as many points as possible."

Alex scratched his nose. He had never felt a sensation like that before; he could not imagine how VR worked.

His heart beat fast, his breathing became irregular.

"Good luck, Alex Sander."

After those words, Alex's body became more relaxed. His breathing and heartbeat returned to normal.

Slowly his eyes became heavy.

His blinking increased, and gradually his eyes closed.

Now Alex was in darkness. He was no longer unfamiliar with it, and now he felt calmer.

A point of light appeared, attracting Alex's gaze.

Slowly the light spread. Warmth flowed through his body and a breath escaped from his mouth.

His vision began to form. Alex could feel his body again. A gust of wind moved his black hair.

Sunlight covered his body. Alex looked down at his palms.

'This feels real… crazy, I've never experienced this.'

A smile appeared on Alex's face. He looked at the sky.

There was the sun shining, and also a transparent dome that seemed to protect the area.

Alex looked around him. There was a dense forest surrounding the open land, and slowly his friends began to appear.

He watched them. Alex walked toward them, taking out a black cloak from his smart bracelet and using it to cover his tight silver VR costume.

Not far from him a figure began to form. Her dark red hair flowed freely and her blue eyes showed signs of life. That figure was the last to appear.

Alex looked at her and smiled, then looked around.

His voice was not loud, but it made everyone look at him when he spoke.

"So everyone is here?"

Everyone looked at each other, then formed a circle to have a discussion before everything began.

"Alright, since we already know the rules, and it turns out this is a survival simulation."

Alex's smile widened.

Those who saw it chuckled.

"I can't believe the excessive preparations we did for a week actually paid off."

"I thought he was just crazy for putting everything in there, even food."

"This will be like normal camping, right?"

Voices erupted everywhere.

Alex raised his hand.

"Alright, take out the items you brought."

Everyone took out papers with unique symbols from their smart bracelets. The numbers were different.

Alex also took out papers with unique symbols, but the number he had was far more than the others.

Katarina nudged Alex.

"So what are you going to do?"

Alex smiled.

"Alright, first…"

Alex pointed at Reva. Reva pointed at herself.

"Reva… bring some people to circle the forest area surrounding our territory. There's a possibility someone will be aggressive from the start."

Reva clicked her tongue.

"Wouldn't that be difficult? You know they might focus on looking for logistics."

Alex shook his head.

"And they'll search by robbing other classes."

A breath escaped from Reva's mouth.

"Alright, alright. Should we just kill them? Aren't we going to cooperate?"

"Yes, just kill them. Whether they're scouts or not."

Reva nodded and left with several people.

Alex reminded Reva again.

"Don't do anything weird, okay? You're already weird and this class really needs you, so don't do anything strange, you strange person."

Reva didn't look back. There was only annoyance in her tone when she replied.

"You're weirder, you strange representative. I won't die early in this simulation."

Alex clicked his tongue.

"Tsk, that person… she's the one with the short fuse."

Alex looked around. The place they would make their base was a land surrounded by dense forest.

Alex looked at two figures again.

"Keyla, Azka."

They both approached.

Alex handed them a stack of small papers with unique symbols and stones with unique symbols.

Keyla and Azka raised their eyebrows.

Alex pointed toward the forest surrounding their territory.

"Place all of these in the forest. Stick them or put them in unexpected places."

Keyla and Azka nodded without arguing.

Then Keyla flew while Azka started moving quickly.

Alex then looked at a boy who was two meters tall and a girl with black hair and golden eyes.

"Aril, Mira. You two become the defense leaders. Lead your teams to build the base."

Mira, who was usually noisy, was now focused on finishing her task.

Alex smiled and clapped once.

"And the rest of you, take out the necessary items and leave the others for surprise attacks."

Everyone began to disperse to do their respective tasks.

Katarina walked toward Alex.

Alex looked at her.

"What?"

Katarina raised her eyebrow.

"So what's the big plan?"

Alex shrugged.

"Well… it's simple. We're going to steal the logistics of other classes, and by 'we' I mean you, me, and Reva."

Katarina looked confused.

"Wouldn't it be better for us to defend, especially with your talent and all the supplies we have?"

Alex nodded.

"Yes, that's good, but we also have to make the other classes suffer so their attacks won't be optimal against us."

Alex looked at Katarina.

"What about your friends? Are they very strong?"

Alex walked toward a large rock and sat on it.

Katarina followed.

"Yes, Julian and Arthur are strong. They're the two strongest people in Class 1."

Alex sighed.

"Then we'll focus on their logistics and class members."

Katarina looked at Alex.

She raised her hand and extended her index finger.

Mana flowed into her finger, and five blue butterflies formed.

Alex's eyes widened and he jumped down from the rock.

"Wow, I didn't expect you could do that!"

Katarina looked at Alex with a flat expression.

"I can monitor other class bases."

Alex nodded enthusiastically.

"I didn't expect it. Many members of my class are very useful hahaha."

Katarina's eyebrow twitched.

"Then how do you plan to fight Julian or Arthur and the other class representatives?"

Alex looked at Katarina.

"Who said we're going to fight them?"

Katarina looked confused.

"Let them fight each other. We'll just target their logistics and members."

Alex smiled.

"And we'll kill them if there's a chance."

Katarina sighed and sent her blue

butterflies flying into the sky.

Alex also looked at the sky.

"Of course we have to move from now."

In another place, a giant monitor screen and several smaller screens beside it displayed the condition of the students in the virtual world.

A man wearing a white robe with a scar on his cheek pointed at one of the small monitors.

"Try focusing there."

"Yes sir."

The scene that was previously on the small monitor now switched to the large monitor.

What they saw made them show confused expressions.

The man in the white robe spoke first.

"What are they doing? What is that? They are taking out items that shouldn't come out of those papers. What is your class doing, Professor Tanya?"

Professor Tanya, with her cat-like eyes, could only stare at the screen showing her students.

"I don't know, Headmaster. Maybe it's one of their talents?"

The headmaster kept staring closely.

Suddenly loud laughter came from his mouth, making everyone look at him.

"Hahaha I can't believe it. Even though that talent is versatile, they brought all kinds of useful and useless things."

The headmaster pointed one by one.

"Look, they brought tents, abundant food supplies, and even comfortable beds. They look like they're having a picnic hahaha."

The headmaster's laughter echoed.

Professor Yuna, standing beside Professor Tanya, nudged her.

"Did you know they prepared all that?"

Professor Tanya looked at her.

"No. I'm seeing it for the first time."

Professor Yuna looked at Professor Tanya.

"You know if they can store all of that, it means they actually did that, right? You know what's been happening lately?"

Professor Tanya's eyes widened.

"That's impossible."

The headmaster's laughter continued to echo as he watched the strange things Class 1C brought until the door of the room opened.

Everyone inside the room turned their heads.

Entering from outside was a boy wearing a dark red uniform with the number 5 written on his chest. The boy had pink hair.

Beside him was a girl wearing a white uniform with the number 4 written on the chest area. Her white hair was tied up and her blue eyes immediately looked at the giant monitor.

Both of them bowed their heads.

"Forgive us for being late," said the boy.

The headmaster looked at them.

"How can the student council president and vice president be late?"

The boy shrugged.

"We have a lot of work, sir."

The headmaster clicked his tongue and invited them to join.

"Tsk tsk, come here Arkan, Kartika."

Arkan and Kartika approached and could now see the monitor more clearly.

Kartika raised her eyebrow.

"What are they doing? They look like they're having a picnic. Is this really a survival simulation?"

The headmaster chuckled.

"That's what I'm laughing at. They didn't even know this simulation would be a survival test until today. Isn't it funny? They brought everything."

Kartika stroked her chin.

"They may feel comfortable in terms of logistics, but I'm sure Arthur will destroy them."

Arkan clicked his tongue while looking at Kartika.

"Tsk, my beautiful sister Eve and Julian will be the ones destroying them."

Kartika's eyebrow twitched.

"Arthur will punch your beautiful Eve in the face and kick Julian's butt."

Arkan and Kartika's quarrel continued until everyone in the room shook their heads.

Meanwhile, in the clear sky, a blue butterfly flew across the dense forest.

The blue butterfly flew toward a group of people.

Suddenly wind roared, shaking the blue butterfly.

The wind carried a group of blood-red flower petals.

The petals surrounded the blue butterfly.

After a moment the petals were carried away by the wind again, and the blue butterfly disappeared.

Footsteps approached.

Her straight pink hair fluttered in the wind.

"Why is she still using the old trick? Right, Julian?"

Julian approached, his blond hair also fluttering in the wind.

"Yes… it seems Rina has a plan."

Julian looked at the pink-haired girl and then patted her head.

The pink-haired girl's ears turned red.

"Should we go to them first, Eve?"

Eve shook her head.

"No… it's better if we eliminate Rina last."

Julian looked at Eve in confusion.

"I don't want you to meet Rina too soon."

Julian smiled.

His heart was turbulent.

'I want to meet her sooner.'
