…
"Maybe."
Leon shrugged.
Seeing Leon unmoved, Homelander hurried into the adjacent room and brought out a blond boy who looked strikingly similar to him.
"Ryan?!"
Butcher instantly lost his composure.
The boy was Homelander's son—the child forced upon his wife. The natural-born Supe Butcher had promised his dying wife he would protect.
"This is my son. Ryan," Homelander said emotionally. "Which makes him your grandson."
"G-Grandpa…"
Ryan greeted Leon cautiously.
…
Even though he had anticipated this, being called grandfather while eternally in his physical prime still felt surreal.
"You see?" Homelander pressed on. "You have family besides me. We're your family."
His voice trembled. His eyes reddened.
If Leon didn't know Homelander's true nature, he might have believed him.
"It's a shame I missed so much," Leon said with convincing solemnity. "I wish I could've raised you myself. Taught you properly."
"I wish that too," Homelander replied, placing a hand on Ryan's head. "But it's not too late. We're not alone anymore. We have each other."
He looked like a man about to grasp the perfect family he had always dreamed of.
Leon stepped closer.
One hand landed on Homelander's shoulder.
Then, in a tone of bitter disappointment:
"Maybe if I'd raised you, you wouldn't have turned into a sniveling attention addict—desperate for validation."
"But it's too late."
"From the inside out, you've become exactly what Vought wanted."
"Wait—"
"Weak? A failure?"
Homelander's face stiffened.
The members of The Boys felt grim satisfaction. Leon had said what they never could.
"Son… you're a fucking disappointment."
Leon grabbed Homelander by the jaw.
Immediately, The Boys moved in.
Butcher and Mother's Milk restrained the stronger right arm.
Hughie, Kimiko, and Frenchie pinned the left.
[Prompt: Initiate today's Daily Sign-In?]
System, don't make me beg.
Roll it.
[Ding. Daily Sign-In complete. Congratulations. You have obtained: "Haki."]
[Haki: You now possess Armament Haki, Observation Haki, and Conqueror's Haki.]
[Description: Only Haki transcends all things.]
Not bad.
Leon's grip tightened.
A faint cracking sound emerged from Homelander's jaw under the pressure.
"What are you doing?!"
"Let him go!"
Ryan rushed forward, pounding at Leon and the others. But he was still a child—his strength couldn't budge adult Supes, let alone Leon.
However—
Ryan's strength might be immature.
His heat vision was not.
Stormfront had proven that.
Realizing brute force was useless, Ryan's eyes began to glow red.
"No!"
"Ryan!"
Butcher and Homelander shouted simultaneously.
Too late.
SHRRR—
Two crimson beams, deeper in hue than either Butcher's or Homelander's, erupted from Ryan's eyes—aimed directly at Leon.
Kid… that's exactly what I was waiting for.
Leon smirked and raised his shield.
Ryan's heat vision struck the Tungsten–Vibranium Shield and deflected sharply to the side, carving clean through Black Noir's office wall, blasting through Vought Tower's exterior before collapsing a section of the façade below.
"I—I didn't mean to…"
After roughly two and a half seconds, Ryan cut off the beams. Using his super-vision, he saw the destruction he had caused—and panicked.
Leon did not indulge him.
With a swift backhand, he smashed Ryan away with the shield.
"Ryan!" ×2
Homelander and Butcher shouted in unison.
They locked eyes.
A silent understanding passed between them.
From opposite sides—
SHRRR!
They fired heat vision at Leon simultaneously.
And then—
The irony unfolded.
When Leon chose not to absorb external energy through his Starlight Template, the passive energy-refraction properties of his Vibranium Physiology activated naturally.
The result—
The twin beams struck Leon's skin—
And instantly refracted.
Wildly.
Erratically.
Like laser light ricocheting through a hall of mirrors.
PUFF. PUFF. PUFF. PUFF.
Hughie.
Mother's Milk.
Frenchie.
Kimiko.
Their heads exploded almost instantly under the deflected beams.
Within seconds—
The Boys were nearly wiped out.
Only Butcher remained.
Leon casually kicked him.
Butcher's body blasted through another wall of the office and slammed to the ground below.
He didn't move.
"Why, Butcher?" Leon asked, still gripping Homelander's throat as he slowly approached. "Why would you make such a stupid choice? Answer me. I know you're not dead."
Butcher staggered upright.
Hollow-eyed.
"We can't kill the boy."
"You said revenge mattered most," Leon pressed. "What's one kid compared to that?"
"He's my wife's son."
A beat.
"Wait."
"Homelander fucked your wife?"
"And you're trying to save that bastard?"
Leon froze for several seconds, struggling to process the absurdity.
"Are you out of your mind?"
"I made a promise," Butcher said hoarsely.
"You're sure?"
Leon scoffed.
"The man you want revenge on is in my hand right now. And this is where you back out?"
Butcher repeated, "Don't kill him."
"Fuck you."
Leon's disappointment hardened into fury.
"You're weaker than him. You and he just killed your entire team trying to protect that bastard. And now you're helping the man who raped your wife—and their child?"
"Butcher… you're a disgrace."
Golden light flared in Leon's eyes.
Two blazing Golden Heat Vision beams tore forward.
Butcher answered with his own orange-red beams.
He lasted less than a second.
Leon's golden beams overpowered him utterly—cleaving him vertically into three burning sections.
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
And just like that—
The Boys were eradicated.
