Chapter 132 -  The God Who Slays Gods

God of War vs. God of Battle

"My dear, your growth truly surprises me," Ares said calmly.

"One day, perhaps, you may surpass me."

"But not today."

"There is still much you must learn."

Molten metal surged from every direction—shrapnel, broken artillery, shattered armor—rising like a storm around him.

It fused together, forging a full suit of dark crimson armor, sealed tight. The helmet bore inverted horns, curving downward like a fallen crown.

With a casual motion, Ares traced an inverted V across the visor, revealing his eyes and part of his face.

"Let us see what the weapon Zeus placed his hopes upon is truly worth!"

Two spectral blades shot toward Diana.

She cleaved them apart with the Godkiller Sword.

Then both gods launched forward—

Steel met steel.

And once again—

Ares' forged blade shattered.

Even infused with divine power, the battlefield scrap he wielded could not withstand the edge of Leon's Active Adamantium-reinforced Godkiller Sword.

"How is this possible?!"

"No mortal blade should cut like this!"

Ares retreated instantly, abandoning close combat.

Diana cast the Lasso of Truth, but his telekinetic field deflected it, forcing it back into her hand.

"That sword is not of Themyscira," Ares hissed.

"Who forged it?"

Switching tactics, Ares flipped the earth beneath her, crushing her under tons of soil—

She burst free.

Leaping skyward—

Ares slammed her down again with crushing telekinetic force.

As long as he refused close quarters, he held advantage.

A tank tore through the sky like a meteor under his telekinetic pull.

Diana split it in half midair.

Fury boiling—

She crossed her Silver Bracers.

BOOM!!!

The shockwave struck Ares head-on.

His armor shattered.

He was hurled backward—

Stunned.

Diana seized the opening.

The Lasso bound him.

Her blade descended.

For the first time in centuries—

Ares felt death approach.

Time slowed.

The blade neared his skull—

His eyes snapped open.

"ENOUGH!!!"

"I am a TRUE GOD!"

"YOU DARE, HALF-BLOOD?!"

Silver lightning flooded the heavens.

A catastrophic torrent of divine thunder struck them both.

When vision returned—

Diana lay paralyzed.

Her bracers absorbed a portion of the lightning—

But the divine energy overloaded her nervous system.

She could feel the power within her awakening—

Yet she could not move.

Ares rose.

Most of his armor gone.

He picked up the fallen Godkiller Sword.

"This material…"

"It does not belong to this world."

"Perhaps like the Dark Lord… something from beyond."

"Dark… Lord?" Diana forced out weakly.

"I protected this world before you were born," Ares said quietly.

"I loved it."

"And now I hate the species that stole it."

He raised the blade.

"Die."

"As the last newborn god."

Diana closed her eyes.

Leon…

The blade descended—

—and stopped.

It would not move.

No matter how Ares forced it—

Something resisted.

"It's the sword!"

The blade itself rejected him.

Then—

Ice.

Blue light flooded his vision.

His body froze solid.

Snow began to fall.

The battlefield temperature plummeted.

Diana opened her eyes.

She was no longer on the ground.

She was in Leon's arms.

He wore the fully manifested War God Armor—

crystalline ice-blue plates glowing with divine runes.

Beside them—

Ares stood frozen mid-strike, encased in a colossal pillar of eternal frost.

Only his trembling pupils betrayed consciousness.

The world had turned silver.

A power capable of freezing creation itself now blanketed the battlefield.

"Leon…?"

Diana touched his crystalline visor.

The ice-blue mask dissolved.

Her fingers met warm skin.

He was alive.

Tears filled her eyes.

She kissed him fiercely.
