Cherreads

Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 : The First Gear of Fate (2)

"Hngh…"

The soft curly ginger hair swayed as Richie raised his head. He blinked his eyes a few times before his focus seemed to return.

Panic soon erupted.

"Huh? What…? W-Where is this?! Why are my hands tied?! Wait… Let me recount my memory. I was just walking around in the park then suddenly someone grabbed me from behind and then… Did- Did I just get kidnapped?!"

Hearing Richie talking not stop, my focus, which had been directed to loosening the rope tying my hands, shifted to him.

He finally reached a conclusion after a few minutes of talking and thrashing around. But hearing him talk made me realize something.

'Wait, why did they stuff my mouth but not him?'

I didn't get stuffed in the mouth back in my first life either. Why the difference?

What's this discrimination? Why were they treating their hostages differently? I wanted to speak too you know!

Clicking my tongue inside my mind, I lowered my head. Deciding to focus on my tied hand. Richie's focus however, locked onto me when he spotted me out of the corner of his eyes.

"Y-Yolan?! You're here too?!"

Relief could be detected in his voice. I could almost see tears pooling in the edge of his eyes.

"Thank god! Keith is worried about you when you suddenly left! I-I was worried too, but I trust your decision to leave. It's good to see you look well, I thought you had become a beggar somewhere."

I raised my gaze toward Richie, giving him a look.

'Is this really the right time to talk about this?'

We were kidnapped and the first thing you cared about was greetings?

I was a naïve, love-struck piece of shit back in my previous life too, but I knew a dire situation when I saw one.

CLUNK!

The metal door to the storage room was pushed open. Revealing five men who radiated arrogance in every step they took.

"Ngh!"

Richie's breath hitched. Seemed like the pheromone those alphas gave off was too strong for him to handle.

"This is why I love sheltered omegas. One of them immediately reacted as soon as we released even a tiny bit of our pheromones."

The man walking on the front led the others in. From the look on their eyes and the bulge in their pants, I immediately understood what they were planning to do.

"Wreck them and take a picture of them moaning under us, isn't that right?"

The one leading gave the orders, "Let's do this boys."

'Shit!'

Two of them came toward me. Because I was distracted by Richie's untimely greetings, my hand, which had been cutting the rope with the knife, had stopped. Making me one beat late to escape.

'Shitshitshit!'

"Hah! These sheltered omegas really have such a high pride huh? Do the sight of me disgust you so much that you won't even look at me?"

The person in front of me said a bunch of nonsense that passed by my ear as soon as it was spoken. I didn't mind him as I glared at the floor, trying my hardest to snap the last loop that tightened my arm.

SNIP!

Feeling the last rope snap, I was ready to jump and wreak havoc in this place. That wasn't until I looked up and saw the beastly desire on the two alphas' faces.

"!!"

A gaze that seemed to strip me whole.

Those expressions were the ones that kept appearing in my dreams again and again. It triggered something that had been dormant in my mind – something I had been trying all my life to break free from.

'No…'

As scenes of the past relapsed into my current life, my breath stopped.

"Look at him, he trembled in fear just from looking at us."

The two men inched closer, holding my waist. They rubbed around my body, unbuckling my belt and started stripping me.

'No…!'

I was wrong.

I thought I could finally face my trauma of these men in my second life with a completely new mindset, but I was still the same old me.

The scar that they left behind inside my mind was too big to be completely cured. With just a few resemblances to the heinous act they did in my previous life, the thin scab that had formed inside my mind burst open – flooding me with vile memories I didn't want to remember.

"Breaking these arrogant omegas is really exciting, don't you think?"

The man asked the one beside him, which earned a smirk from him.

"No! Let go of me! What are you guys going to do?!"

I turned my head when I heard Richie's voice. He was trembling in fear as the three other kidnappers pinned him down.

"Oh, you'll soon find out. Don't worry, you will enjoy it so much you will beg us to do it to you every day."

"Don't you know who my lover is? Do you guys want to die?!"

The kidnappers shot an annoyed look at Richie, "Tsk, he talks too much, I wonder what Keith finds appealing in this kind of omega."

"Maybe his hole is so damn good that guy couldn't let go? He does smell great."

"Let's find out."

"No! Stop!"

I couldn't take my eyes off the assault that was happening right in front of me. At this point, the past would repeat again.

That was something I couldn't allow.

"Wha-!"

I snapped the loosened rope tying my hand and feet then tackled the kidnapper in front of me. Pulling out his gun, I aimed at the guy below me and at the other guy beside him.

BANG! BANG!

Blood splattered all over my face, but I didn't flinch. Pulling out the cloth stuffed in my mouth, I directed my gaze to the other three.

My fear had already been overtaken by instinct.

"What in the hell-!"

One of the guys pulled out their gun and started shooting. I ran to dodge the bullet – gun in my hand. Some of the bullets grazed my body, having not reached my peak condition, I had to sacrifice a few things to get the best performance.

BANG!

One of my bullets hit directly in the heart.

'One down.'

"What are you doing?! Shoot him!"

The one pinning Richie on the ground shouted toward his friend, but they were too late. With a kick, I knocked one of them to the ground and aimed my gun at him.

BANG!

'Two.'

"You-!"

BANG!

I didn't let him finish his words as I pulled the trigger. Soon, he collapsed on the ground, lifeless.

'Three.'

I gazed at the kidnappers' faces one by one. With this, half of my debt had been paid off.

"Y-Yolan…"

A small voice full of fear called out to me, making me raise my gaze to the only person left alive in this room.

"Hic…!"

But instead of receiving gratitude, the one I saved trembled in fear just from the sight of me. As if looking at a monster that was going to devour him.

I broke eye contact and turned my gaze away. Checking the pistol's magazine, I assessed my situation.

'I still need to find Cecily.'

BAM!

"Richie!"

Unexpectedly, the door to the storage room opened, and with it came a shout from someone too familiar to me.

"Keith!"

I froze in place.

'He comes on the first day?'

That arrogant, uncaring bastard of a husband came on the first day to rescue his lover?

I slowly raised my gaze toward the two. They had now hugged each other and were having a heartfelt reunion.

"Are you okay?"

Keith asked as he gently rubbed Richie's cheek.

"I was so scared! Waah!"

His gaze softened at the sight of Richie crying in his arms. He looked up at the dead corpses before asking his lover, "Did you do this?"

Richie shook his head and turned his gaze toward me.

"Yolan was the one who killed those kidnappers."

"Yolan…?"

Keith finally noticed my presence when Richie mentioned it.

'Pretending not to see me and acting like I don't exist huh…'

I scoffed at his behavior.

Stashing the gun on my waist, I walked confidently toward them. No, I had no business talking to them, I was just passing by and was going to leave the storage room.

"Yolan."

Even as Keith called out to me, I walked past him. Not stopping my steps for a bit.

"Yolan!"

Keith chased after me, intending to grab my hand. But I turned around and punched him in the face.

BAM!

But my fist met Keith's palm instead.

"Haha…"

A weak laugh escaped my lips. Of course Keith could easily block my punch. I thought I could at least lash out at him once, but reality wasn't as great as I expected.

Knowing this indifferent man I had been living with, I knew there was one thing he hated the most in this world – not being in control.

And soon enough, he glared at me like he was going to kill me.

"What are you doing?"

I stared back at him coldly, not backing down in this contest of authority. Maybe this was why I was treated like air in front of him. With my strong personality, I was an omega he couldn't control – something he disliked the most.

"You should have just taken my punch, it's my heartfelt repayment after years of your indifference to me."

I didn't even glance at his face anymore as I turned around, walking away.

"Don't ever expect me to feel gratitude toward you. I was the only one giving my all to keep the relationship between us stable. Now that you have found your new wife to take care of the house, I'll leave you two lovebirds alone."

And with those parting words, I left the storage room.
