Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Second Transmigrator

"Whoosh!"

Something unidentified suddenly flew through the air.

As it descended, the people on the boat widened their eyes in horror—it was a severed arm. Judging from the uniform, it belonged to a Garrison soldier. Under everyone's gaze, the arm fell straight into the lake.

A child burst into tears at the gruesome sight. His mother regretted not covering his eyes in time.

A suffocating atmosphere settled over the ship.

"It's over! The Titans are going to eat humanity!"

"Are we going extinct?!"

Laments rose one after another.

Though Eren had not suffered the loss of his mother in this timeline, he still stared at the distant wall, jaw clenched. He slammed his fist against the ship's railing.

"I'll drive them out! We'll take back our home!"

Chen Si watched him.

The words were the same as in the original story—but something was missing. The raw, desperate conviction forged by tragedy.

Suddenly, Chen Si seemed to understand why, in the original timeline, Eren had allowed Dina Fritz's Titan to devour Carla.

Without that catalyst… would Eren still walk the path toward genocide?

Hard to say.

Wait… at the end of the story, why did Eren let Carla be eaten again? Chen Si frowned, thinking.

The Colossal Titan breached the wall…

Bertholdt!

What if Dina already ate Bertholdt?

At the Breach of Wall Maria

Amid the smoke and debris, Bertholdt Hoover stared in horror at a smiling, blond abnormal Titan walking slowly toward him.

Damn it! Why an abnormal?! I haven't even gotten inside yet!

He had just exited his Colossal Titan form—he couldn't transform again. Annie Leonhart and Reiner Braun had slipped into the chaos the moment the wall fell.

He hadn't expected an abnormal Titan to appear here.

Outside the breach, more Titans surged inward. He was trapped.

As Dina extended her hand, Bertholdt closed his eyes.

Is this how it ends? I haven't even reunited with Annie…

But suddenly—

The Titan's hand stopped midair.

Dina tilted her head.

Then she withdrew her hand and turned away, walking back toward the interior.

Bertholdt opened his eyes in disbelief.

Beside him stood a dark-skinned boy with black mushroom-cut hair and glasses.

"Don't just stand there. Get inside. My ninjutsu won't last long," the boy said, adjusting his glasses.

In the distance, Dina hesitated—as if about to turn back again.

Bertholdt, trained as a Marleyan Warrior, quickly followed the boy into the city.

If Chen Si had seen this scene, his jaw would have dropped.

That mushroom-haired, bespectacled boy—

The vibe was unmistakable.

He was the second transmigrator in this world—

Sawano Kawa.

From Japan.

Sawano Kawa

In his previous life, Sawano Kawa had been a shut-in otaku who ate instant noodles and binged anime. His walls were plastered with posters of scantily clad anime girls. He even slept clutching a body pillow—one of Mikasa.

The day he transmigrated, he had fallen asleep hugging that pillow.

When he woke up—

He was in the world of Attack on Titan.

His first thoughts were not about the Rumbling.

Not about saving Eldia.

But about Mikasa. Historia. Petra. Even Carla…

However, once he came to his senses, he realized he was standing on a training ground surrounded by ten-year-old boys and girls running laps.

Wait… this is Marley's Warrior candidate program?!

Panic struck him.

These are child soldiers!

Then—

"Ding!"

A mechanical voice sounded.

"System activated. This is a one-time system containing a beginner tutorial. Please listen carefully. After the broadcast concludes, the system will self-destruct."

"You have entered the world created by Hajime Isayama: Attack on Titan."

"You will receive a beginner's gift: Superpower—Invisibility."

"Effect: Ignore all visual detection and Titan perception."

"Duration: 5 seconds."

"Cooldown: 15 minutes."

"Kill one Pure Titan to unlock the complete form: maximum invisibility duration of 1 minute. Cooldown equals usage duration. If fully used for one minute, cooldown is two minutes."

Yes! Hahaha! With this system, the heroines are mine! I'm the chosen one!

"Please select one mastery: Free Fighting, Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, Jeet Kune Do, Boxing, Culinary Arts, or Horsemanship."

"At first, I'll pick Culinary Arts. Then Nicolo won't stand a chance—"

He paused.

Actually… this world isn't safe. Better pick something combat-related.

He chose Karate.

"Selection complete. Enjoy your journey."

The system fell silent.

All this happened in one second.

Before him stood the young Warrior candidates:

Annie. Bertholdt. Reiner. Marcel.

"What are you doing here?" Reiner demanded.

Marcel prepared to subdue him.

Sawano panicked—then quickly straightened.

"How dare you, Eldian devils, speak to me like that?"

The children froze.

In Marley, even high-ranking Eldians dared not challenge the lowest Marleyan.

Just then, Theo Magath approached with guards.

Blood was drawn from Sawano.

Not Eldian.

Magath relaxed.

"How did you get in, child?" he asked kindly.

Sawano lied smoothly. "A friend kicked a ball in. I climbed the wall to get it."

Reiner and the others lowered their heads in shame.

Only Annie noticed his spotless shoes.

"General, may I spar with them? They were disrespectful."

Magath considered—then gave a subtle nod.

"You may all come at me," Sawano sneered.

Reiner attacked first with a straight punch.

Sawano instantly saw openings everywhere.

He stepped forward—

Grabbed Reiner's wrist—

Hooked under his arm—

Over-the-shoulder throw.

Reiner slammed onto his back with a cry.

Marcel rushed in.

A shoulder charge.

A sweep.

Marcel leapt to avoid it—

And Sawano activated invisibility.

Marcel blinked as his opponent vanished.

A sudden strike—

Marcel fell.

Magath's eyes gleamed.

How did he disappear?

Annie finally grew serious.

She raised her stance.

Bertholdt, flustered, lunged first.

Sawano had four seconds left.

He vanished again—

Bertholdt was knocked down instantly.

Humiliated, he glanced at Annie—

But Annie never looked at him.

Her gaze remained fixed on Sawano.

Unblinking.
