Wall Sina – Interior – Noble District
"Have you heard? A Titan has become our ally!"
"That's nothing! I heard a god appeared in Wall Rose, and a whole new religion has formed because of it."
"That's obviously just rumors."
"It's probably nonsense spread to calm us down after the failed Trost District recapture."
"Does that mean a flood of refugees from Wall Rose will come pouring in soon?"
"Are you kidding? How would we even have enough food?"
"What if that Titan ally comes charging in here too...?"
The people here were dressed in luxury, yet they held a pessimistic view of the frontline situation and the information released by the Garrison.
Wall Sina – Interior – Civilian District
"That's great! A Titan has become our ally! Maybe we can even retake Wall Maria!"
"Have you heard? The heavens have sent down a god! One who commands lightning and punishes Titans!"
"A savior! This is our savior!"
"Citizens! We are from the Church of Thunder! Chen Si, the God of Lightning, is our patron deity! Join us, and you'll be protected for life!"
"I'll join!"
"Me too!"
Members of the Church of Thunder had already begun spreading their doctrine within Wall Sina. At this moment, Chen Si himself was completely unaware of it.
Military Police Headquarters
"No matter the era, the masses are always this foolish—blindly believing such information without responsibility," Nile said, already aware of the public discourse.
"What we should worry about is these rumors being used by rebels against the central government," his adjutant added.
"Before that, Eren Yeager and Chen Si Ackerman will be executed by the Military Police. I will not hand them over to that bunch of freaks in the Survey Corps—more precisely, to Erwin," Nile said calmly, eyes closed.
On Wall Rose
"Commander Pixis, as the head of the Garrison, meeting privately with me, the commander of the Survey Corps, might be considered… sensitive. It could cause dissatisfaction," Erwin said as he walked behind Pixis.
"You really are as rigid as the rumors say," Pixis replied casually. "It's nothing serious. We simply ran into each other while taking a walk after breakfast."
"This is just a casual chat. Are you aware that the Military Police have taken custody of Chen Si Ackerman and Eren Yeager?"
"Yes, I've heard. There will be a tribunal to decide their fate," Erwin responded.
"Whether they go to the Survey Corps or the Military Police—the decision lies with Darius Zackly," Pixis said.
"Zackly… you mean President Darius Zackly?" Erwin asked, though his expression showed no real confusion.
"He commands all three branches—the Survey Corps, Garrison, and Military Police. His judgment is based on a single standard: whether something benefits humanity, or harms it."
Pixis stopped walking, his back turned to Erwin.
"If they are judged to be more harmful than beneficial, they will be executed. That's exactly why I don't want them to die here. From what I can tell, Chen Si isn't someone who bows to authority—he'll resist. And he has the strength to do so. Humanity cannot afford internal conflict any longer," Pixis said with a sigh.
"Unfortunately, within the Garrison, too many fear Eren for being a Titan. As for Chen Si, he's even killed my men. I've already done all I can just to keep them from supporting the Military Police."
"Do we have a chance?" Pixis asked, glancing at a bottle of alcohol he had taken earlier.
"No. But I've prepared a proposal. Whether it succeeds depends on how the tribunal unfolds," Erwin said with a slight bow.
Pixis glanced back at him.
"So you're planning to do nothing and just wait for the result?"
"Because the Survey Corps spends all its time beyond the walls, we aren't particularly skilled in political maneuvering," Erwin replied calmly.
In truth, he already had a plan—but had no intention of revealing it to Pixis. Knowing Pixis wouldn't side with the Military Police was enough.
"Hahaha… so you're not just rigid after all," Pixis laughed loudly before turning and leaving.
As an old fox, Pixis had already seen through Erwin—he knew Erwin had a plan but wouldn't share it. All he could do now was wait for the outcome.
"Today's walk was enjoyable, Commander Smith," Pixis waved as he left.
Erwin watched his departing figure, silently considering whether Pixis could one day be drawn into a movement against the royal government.
Garrison Headquarters – Mess Hall
"The tribunal for my brother and Eren… what does that mean?" Mikasa asked uneasily.
"I'm not entirely sure, but… it's probably to decide how they'll be dealt with…" Armin said nervously.
"How they'll be dealt with?" Mikasa's voice turned cold.
"It likely means… deciding whether they live… or die," Armin said, his expression grim.
Mikasa shot to her feet, pupils trembling. Her teacup tipped over as she stood frozen in place.
At that moment, the mess hall doors were kicked open. Two Military Police officers entered arrogantly, carrying standard rifles, and took Mikasa and Armin away as witnesses for the tribunal.
Military Police Dungeon
"210."
"22."
"Wrong again, Eren. Do push-ups."
"Ah! Damn it! Is math really this hard?!"
Eren, still in chains, began doing push-ups on the bed.
Chen Si was bored out of his mind, so he had been playing a number game with Eren. Starting from 2, whenever a multiple of 2 or a number containing the digit "2" came up, they had to clap instead of saying it.
After more than a dozen rounds, Eren had lost every time—so Chen Si just treated it as exercise for him, while he himself hadn't moved at all.
"This isn't even math," Chen Si said speechlessly, as the sound of chains echoed from next door.
"Chen Si, where did you even learn this stuff?" Eren asked, wiping his sweat.
"…Back in my hometown," Chen Si said, a trace of nostalgia flashing in his eyes.
In his previous life, he hadn't had a tragic background. His parents loved him. Though he had been tormented daily by high school studies, now it all felt nostalgic.
If he hadn't transmigrated… he'd probably have graduated college by now.
This world was filled with bloodshed and war—but also with pure love. His previous world hadn't been peaceful either.
Damn it… I dated three times before, and got cheated on all three times. At least in this world, girls are much better, Chen Si sighed inwardly.
"Man, I'd love to visit your hometown someday. It must be really interesting… though it's probably not in Shiganshina District, right?" Eren said dreamily.
Chen Si was about to respond when a guard interrupted him.
"Know your place, you monster!" the guard shouted at Eren, sweating nervously.
"I don't like the way you're talking," Chen Si said irritably. Being interrupted mid-conversation—did they have no rights at all? …Well, no Titan rights, apparently.
"Shut up! You're just a murderer!" the guard shot back, speaking tough words in a cowardly tone as he backed away.
