"Yeah, pretty enviable. Unlike me—just a rookie, yet I've already achieved a hundred-Titan kill count. Who can compete with that?" Chen Si brushed his bangs back narcissistically.
"Haha, true. When I transform into a Titan, I've killed quite a few too," Eren said, scratching the back of his head with a grin.
"Are all rookies these good at bragging now?" Oluo scoffed.
"Actually, it's not bragging. With Eren's Titan power, he's killed no fewer than twenty Titans. And Chen Si, with his lightning ability, has killed at least fifty. At this rate, your years of kills will soon be surpassed by rookies," Petra said bluntly.

Levi appeared wearing a cleaning outfit and a mask, barking orders.
"Yes, sir!" Petra and Oluo responded at once.
So that's what she meant… Petra let out a sigh of relief and hurried off to grab a broom.
"Damn cockroach—die!"

Inside one of the castle rooms, crackling sounds of electricity echoed. Chen Si, having regained some energy, was wildly zapping corners with lightning. The floor was soon littered with the remains of insects and rats.
Passing Scout members holding dustpans and brooms stared at him in confusion.
That… counts as cleaning?
"Ahhh!"
"Why are there so many bugs?!"
From a nearby room came the screams of girls. The surviving insects and rats, having witnessed the massacre in Chen Si's room, had migrated elsewhere.
"Captain! I'm done! I'm going to rest now!" Chen Si leaned out the window, shouting to Levi below, who was drawing water.
Levi glanced up at him.
The next second—
Fully geared and radiating killing intent, Levi was already standing at the doorway of Chen Si's room.
Chen Si, who had just been stretching lazily, turned around.

"Unacceptable! You are not allowed to use your lightning to clean. Go fetch water and get a broom and dustpan!" Levi said coldly.

"Oh, and clean up the insects on Krista and Petra's floor too," Levi added before turning and leaving.

Left with no choice, Chen Si went downstairs to fetch water, then returned to resume cleaning properly.
"Ahhh! All of you—just die already! You damn bugs!"
Chen Si stormed into another room, launching an indiscriminate massacre on a nest of cockroaches.
"Too noisy! Shut up!" Chis shouted in annoyance.
"Oh—Eren, you're here. Levi's really ruthless. I've become a pest-control tool now. So annoying!" Chen Si complained, shaking Eren by the shoulders.
"So that crackling noise earlier… that was you killing bugs?" Eren asked, surprised.
"Yeah. If I'd known, I wouldn't have used lightning," Chen Si said, pouting.
"Honestly, you've got it easy. Even the rooms I clean aren't for me—Captain Levi made me stay underground," Eren sighed.
"Yeah, that's rough. The basement probably has even more bugs. I'll help you clean it later," Chen Si said sympathetically.
"Thanks, Chen Si!" Eren's mood improved immediately.
"We're bros, after all. Levi is stricter than my old school teachers during cleaning duty," Chen Si complained.
"Yeah… Captain Levi seems like a total clean freak. In that way, you're kind of similar, Chen Si," Eren said thoughtfully.
"I'm not that extreme, am I?" Chen Si replied.
"You two look troubled," Petra said as she passed by with a broom.
"Hm?" Eren turned.
"Hey, Petra." Chen Si waved.
"Hello, Chen Si. I'm glad you remembered my name," Petra said, pleasantly surprised.
"Beautiful people are always memorable. And that senior who keeps biting his tongue—Oluo, right? Also unforgettable," Chen Si smiled.
"Haha, true. But Oluo is actually a good person. And isn't Captain Levi a bit different from what you imagined?" Petra said with a light laugh.
"I didn't expect someone as strong as Captain Levi to follow orders so strictly," Eren said.
"You thought someone that strong wouldn't be bound by authority or rules, right?" Petra said, reading his thoughts.
"Or maybe… there's someone who can actually keep Captain Levi in check," Chen Si said slowly.
"Someone who can control Captain Levi…" Eren murmured.
"That does make some sense. I don't know all the details, but Captain Levi used to be the most notorious thug in the underground city of the capital. He was brought into the Scouts by Commander Erwin Smith, along with Miss Chis," Petra explained, clearly more talkative when the topic was Levi.
"Someone like that could actually be recruited by the Commander…" Eren said in disbelief.
"Eren… what do you mean by 'someone like that'?" Winyaad appeared at the doorway, smiling faintly.
"Ah! N-no, I didn't mean anything…" Eren panicked.
"Eren!" Levi's voice rang out.
Petra immediately straightened up and began cleaning seriously, as if nothing had happened.
"Yes, sir!" Eren responded.
"This is as good as not cleaning at all. Do it all over again," Levi said coldly.
Chen Si quietly tried to inch toward the door to escape, but Winyaad shifted slightly, blocking his path.
"Petra, here—put this by your bedside. There won't be any bugs at night," Winyaad said, handing her some incense.
"Thank you, Chis!" Petra said excitedly.
"…Hm? Chen Si—you too. Clean up all those dead bugs!" Levi suddenly shouted, noticing him.
