"Eren!"
Carla suddenly jolted awake from her sleep. She quickly climbed out of bed, threw open the door, and ran outside.
"Eren… where are you? Are you here?"
She hurried anxiously through the camp, searching everywhere.
Was that just a dream…? I saw Eren here… and Chen Si too… Was it really just a dream?
Unease filled her heart.
In the silent night, only her hurried footsteps and soft calls echoed.
"Mom! I miss you so much! I want to go home!"
"Damn Eldians!"
"Hahaha! Marley will wipe you all out!"
From a ground-level prison cell came faint, continuous wails.
Because Sawano Kawa couldn't transform into a Titan, Mike had beaten him badly and then thrown him into an ordinary cell, leaving him there unattended. Since he still had some use, Erwin needed the information he carried, so he wasn't executed—his cries were simply ignored.
"Damn it… why… why was I captured by a bunch of anime natives? System! System, save me!"
Bruised and battered,Sawano Kawa cried out in despair.
But there was no response.
"System! System! Get out here! Great System, please save me! Can you send me back to my original world? I don't want maids anymore, I don't want female characters anymore! Waaaah!"
He sobbed uncontrollably.
Ding!
A system notification sound suddenly rang out.
"System! Great System! Gomen nasai! I was just too emotional earlier—I meant no disrespect!"
Sawano Kawa was instantly overjoyed.
"Scanning player permissions… Ding. Insufficient permissions."
"What? No!!"
His miserable scream pierced through the quiet night.
"What was that sound? Eren!"
Hearing the scream, Carla immediately rushed toward it, tears filling her eyes.
Eren, Mom is coming… You must have suffered…
Carla wasn't foolish. She had already heard rumors—whispers that Eren was a Titan. Though most soldiers, under Keith's orders, kept silent, some words had still reached her ears.
She firmly believed that Eren was being imprisoned by the military.
At that moment, a figure wearing a trainee uniform and a green cloak dashed across the camp plaza.
The figure paused briefly, observing the two Titans on the ground, then turned and ran in another direction.
Soon, flames began to rise from the armory.
Reiner watched the burning armory, gritting his teeth.
This is all to save the people of Marley. I have to let my family leave the internment zone… I want them to live happy and free lives before I die.
Originally, Reiner had planned to kill the two Pure Titans.
But now, he decided to release them instead—letting them destroy the Survey Corps' armory and catch them off guard. This would cause casualties and reduce the resistance they would face in their next expedition beyond the walls.
Clenching his fists, he struggled internally, then a firm resolve flashed in his eyes.
Using his ODM gear, he flew toward the two Titans. Without sunlight, they were currently dormant.
From a nearby cell came continuous wails.
Reiner turned his head slightly.
That… sounds like Sawano Kawa? Should I save him?
He hesitated—but then heard rapid hoofbeats approaching.
"Damn! Soldiers are coming. No time… Sawano Kawa, you're on your own."
Reiner quickly pulled out the spikes pinning the Titans and cut the chains binding them. After a brief pause, he stabbed both Titans.
The Titans immediately awoke, roaring.
In an instant, the entire Survey Corps camp was thrown into chaos.
"Not good! The Titans have broken free!"
"Quick! Go to the armory and get equipment! Kill the Titans!"
Mike rushed out of the barracks and sniffed the air.
"Someone was here!"
"Squad Leader! This is bad—the armory is on fire!" a soldier reported, drenched in sweat.
"What?! Damn it! What about the equipment we used this morning? There should still be some left outside the armory, right?" Mike demanded.
"We sent the earlier gear to the Garrison for maintenance. Right now, we only have firearms—but all the ammunition is in the armory. The fire is too strong… I don't know if we can retrieve even one set of gear!" Eld reported anxiously.
"No time. We just need one set of gear! I'll go into the armory myself!" Mike decided immediately.
"No! The fire's too intense—you might not make it out!" Eld tried to stop him.
"We don't need to panic. The open area where the Titans are only has Sawano Kawa's cell—no other personnel. We have time to stall. As long as we extinguish the outer flames and retrieve one set of equipment, anyone can kill those Titans," a staff officer reassured them.
"I'll wait outside the armory until the fire dies down," Mike said with a sigh.
"Ah!"
A scream suddenly rang out.
"What's going on? Why is there a woman near the cells?" Eld froze in shock.
"It's Carla!"
Keith, who had just arrived, immediately rushed toward the prison.
"Commander Shadis! It's too dangerous!" Eld tried to stop him.
Keith shoved his hand aside and charged forward.
Mike followed without hesitation.
"Mike, are you crazy?! Without ODM gear or blades, going there is suicide!" Eld shouted.
"The enemy never waits until you're ready. Whether we have weapons or not—if we don't stop fighting, there's still a chance to win."
Mike glanced at Eld before rushing ahead.
"Mike…" Eld muttered, then gritted his teeth and followed.
"What… what is going on…? Why are there Titans here?!"
Carla was utterly terrified.
But instead of running, she rushed straight toward the prison door.
"Eren! Eren! Are you inside?!"
After hearing the Titans, Sawano Kawa immediately activated his invisibility. The Titan—nicknamed "Bean" by Hange—paused briefly, then reached instead toward Carla.
"Mom, it's me! Save me!"
Sawano Kawa lowered his voice, pretending to be injured.
"Eren! What have they done to you?! Why does your voice sound like that?!"
Carla frantically pounded on the iron door, trying to force it open—but it was far beyond what she could break.
