Erwin nodded in agreement.
"We also need support from the other military branches. Intelligence alone might be enough to convince Commander Pixis, but it won't be enough for the other leaders. It all sounds too unbelievable. Unless we bring back concrete evidence from across the sea, they won't believe it. We still have to visit Eren's basement."
Erwin understood this very well. Without direct proof, neither soldiers nor civilians inside the Walls would believe that humans existed beyond them. Too many people had died chasing that truth… including his father, who had been killed by the Military Police under the royal government for trying to uphold it.
"That place… Levi and I can go alone."
Chen Si slowly walked to Levi's side.
"Hm?" Levi glanced at him, his body already tensing instinctively.
Chen Si placed both hands on Levi's shoulders. A faint glimmer flashed in his eyes—and in the next instant, Levi vanished from everyone's sight.
"Ding. Character Template: Sawano Kawa. Ability: Invisibility. Injecting into subject: Levi. Sawano Kawa height: 165 cm. Levi height: 160 cm. Compatibility: 90%."
"You made Levi disappear?!" Hange stared in shock.
"Levi!" Winyaad called out anxiously.
Miche's gaze sharpened as his hand moved to his waist, ready to draw his blade.
After all, Chen Si had only recently joined them—some caution was natural.
Only Erwin's expression shifted slightly, as if he had already anticipated this.
"I'm fine."
Levi gradually reappeared, opening his palm and examining himself.
"This is… Sawano Kawa's ability?" Winyaad exclaimed.
"Why give this to me?" Levi asked, clearly surprised.
"I originally thought of giving it to Mikasa. But war is too cruel. I don't want her trapped in that mire for too long. Let us handle the fighting on the front lines. And besides… you're humanity's strongest soldier. This ability suits you best."
Levi processed the knowledge of how to use the ability that had appeared in his mind. A trace of gratitude surfaced within him.
"Thank you, Chen Si," Levi said solemnly.
"Haha, Levi, now you can help me with experiments too—how about tonight?" Hange suddenly slung an arm over his shoulder.
"Get off me, Four-Eyes," Levi snapped, shoving her away.
Castle Courtyard
Levi was testing a new combat technique that combined invisibility and reappearance. His figure flickered rapidly between several trees.
"Captain Levi's speed… has it reached the point where the naked eye can't track it anymore?" Eld was astonished.
"As expected of the Captain!" Petra's eyes sparkled.
"He's still getting stronger…" Oluo muttered, then glanced sideways—
Winyaad was lying on a lounge chair, sunbathing. She wore a Survey Corps cloak that barely covered her extremely short shorts, giving the illusion of wearing nothing underneath. Her flawless legs and curves were fully on display as she casually crossed them.
From Oluo's angle, he saw more than he should have. Suddenly, something began trickling from his nose.
Petra noticed his strange reaction and frowned. Then she saw the blood on his hand.
"You bit your tongue again?" she asked flatly.
"Of course not—" More blood streamed from his nose, and he hurriedly wiped it away.
Petra followed his gaze toward Chis—and immediately understood.
"Oh, so you were sneaking a peek at Chis!" she said with disdain.
"Yo, isn't this big sister Chis? Why not wear a pair of sunglasses?" Chen Si joked as he walked over.
"Well then, little brother Chen Si, could you fly all the way to Marley and bring me a pair?" Winyaad replied with a faint smile.
"That's a bit far. I'd probably fall halfway there," Chen Si said, shrugging honestly.
"Oh? So you're saying you're not capable? How unfortunate."
Winyaad rolled over, stretching out her long legs. Barefoot, she placed one foot on Chen Si's thigh, slowly sliding it upward.
Chen Si froze for a moment, his body trembling slightly as he quickly stepped back.
"Heh… hehehe…" Winyaad covered her mouth, unable to suppress her laughter—clearly aware of what she had just touched.
Hold it… hold it… I can't betray Mikasa again—no, wait, Mikasa is family… I can't betray Historia… Though mature women really are tempting… out of sight, out of mind…
Form is emptiness… emptiness is form…
Winyaad's lips curled slightly, her opinion of Chen Si rising a little.
Not bad, Chen Si… In that case, I won't try to break you and Mikasa—or Historia—apart.
Seeing Chen Si leave, Miche walked over to Winyaad.
"Hey, Miche," she greeted casually.
"Chis… what are 'sunglasses'?" Miche asked.
"They're a kind of glasses used to block sunlight. No one inside the Walls has made them yet."
"…Sunglasses…" Miche repeated silently, committing the word to memory.
"Miche, you remind me of an old friend," Winyaad suddenly said.
"Is that so…" Miche didn't quite know how to respond.
"Yes. Quiet, reliable… the type who keeps things to himself."
A trace of nostalgia flickered in her eyes—her life on Earth felt both distant and recent at the same time.
"…That does sound similar."
Miche paused, then stood beside her as they both looked toward the distant sunset.
Chen Si noticed a rabbit hopping up beside his foot. With a casual wave, a bolt of lightning struck it—its eyes instantly turning into X's.
"You came to me yourself. Can't blame me, right?"
He glanced toward Levi's squad, who had been discussing battle formations centered around Eren for quite some time. The sun was already setting in the distance.
Then, faint hoofbeats echoed from afar.
"Looks like the new recruits are arriving," Eld said, standing up.
"New recruits?" Eren asked, surprised.
"Woohoo! My Chen Si squad—I'm coming!" Chen Si shouted as he ran toward the castle.
"Chen Si looks really happy," Petra said with a gentle smile.
"Hey, Chen Si! Take me with you!" Eren called after him.
"No," Levi replied coldly, having just returned from training.
"…Huh?" Eren's face fell instantly.
