The fight between Bianca and the fallen general, who was called Abebus, had just begun.
'I don't know how to control this body well, I have to end this fast!' thought Bianca as she started to fly toward the enemy, who was an alterid like her. She had barely fought against Krukins before; every time they noticed something was wrong, she usually ran away, scared for her life.
But now she couldn't. If she ran away, that meant Jaune and Nysira behind her could be put in danger, so she had to gain some courage and fight against that monster. Abebus could generate thin blades on top of his head; because he was a shadow soldier summoned by Sappho, his blades were totally black.
Around him there was the same shadow fur every other one of Sappho's toys had. As one of the blades was launched toward Bianca, she was able to smash it thanks to the strength of her new body. After Bianca threw her punch, the blade was destroyed into multiple pieces. As Bianca was getting closer, a blade appeared in front of her.
She did not have the time to react before the blade immediately turned into multiple fragments. All of them went toward Bianca, who retrieved her wings, knowing that they were one of the weakest parts of the Krukmongbee.
Not all the fragments rushed toward Bianca; some of them retreated close to Abebus, who used them as some sort of defensive barrier.
'I will remove that defense!' thought Bianca as she made her wings appear once again. She then got in position to shoot the stinger. But as the stings were shot, a new blade appeared on the ground.
Suddenly it started to shake so much that even the ground around it trembled. As the first sting touched the blade, it got reflected and sent the stings back.
Because of all the stings Bianca had thrown, they crashed against each other and were totally destroyed. A huge smoke appeared in the battlefield as the stings collided with each other.
Bianca remained still. She knew what was inside the Krukmongbee's sting, so she chose not to go there and waited for the gas to disperse. But suddenly Abebus came out from the smoke. Bianca noticed that his body was not bleeding, it was probably because he did not need to use his soul to cast magic.
"That's why I always have so much fun with the human toys…" whispered Sappho as she hid behind some rocks nearby. In that moment, she was extremely weak, and if any of the humans were to see her, she could probably die.
'He entered the gas!' thought Bianca as she now had to run away, waiting for the moment that was about to arrive. She knew what was inside the stings and why they were so powerful if they touched a human's body.
They contained a poisonous gas inside them. Once the stings were destroyed, this gas would wander around freely, and it was extremely dangerous for living creatures. She had never tried it on her own body, but she saw it once while she was spying on a group of Krukins, probably training underground.
There were two Krukmongbees throwing their stings at each other. Suddenly, once they crashed against each other, the gas broke out. As both of the Krukmongbees inhaled it, they collapsed on the ground and couldn't move for days.
'I don't know how long it will take… I just hope not much,' thought her, scared, as she saw one of the blades coming toward her. Bianca was ready to strike another punch and destroy the blade, but suddenly Nysira appeared out of nowhere and kicked it toward the enemy, who was able to defend himself thanks to the fragments of his previous blade.
Nysira stepped in front of Bianca, her whole body already bleeding. She was around 20% use of her soul—this fight could not last long, especially because Nysira had barely eaten in these days. Her whole body felt extremely weak.
"WE HAVE TO END THIS FAST, BIANCA!!" shouted Nysira as she started to rush around the enemy to confuse it. Bianca simply nodded. In fact, once she took the shape of another creature who could not speak, she wasn't able to do it either.
As Nysira rushed around Abebus, he created multiple blades that all rushed toward her, but she simply dodged them because she was going really fast thanks to her spell.
Abebus even tried to create a blade in front of her, but Nysira, after losing her eye, had learned her lesson, she moved even if it was about to touch her. As Abebus realized that the woman had gotten past him, he shattered the blade, and all the fragments rushed toward Nysira at a really high speed.
'I have to try this…' thought Bianca as she was waiting for the right moment for Nysira to pass right in front of her. Once it happened, the two women exchanged a glance, and Bianca threw a punch with all her strength toward the fragments, which were not destroyed but, thanks to the strength of the punch, were thrown over Abebus.
Abebus now had no protection, and as the fragments touched his body, he was pushed backward. "Lightning Track," whispered Nysira as she passed right behind Abebus, creating a dangerous lightning path that charred parts of Abebus's shadow body.
He then fell on the ground and rolled for some time before stopping, thanks to a blade he created. The two girls watched over him, he simply remained still, but it felt like he was concentrating on something.
Nysira now stopped near Bianca, both girls breathing heavily. Then Nysira started to walk normally toward him, noticing that he had stopped doing anything else, but Bianca stopped her.
"You think he's doing something?" asked Nysira, knowing that Bianca could not speak. She answered by nodding her head. Both of the girls entered a defensive position.
Suddenly, in front of Nysira, multiple shards appeared, none of the girls saw them because they were basically invisible to the human eye. They were extremely small, so no one without a microscope would be able to see them.
But the main problem was that there were countless of them, and they all crashed against Nysira's body, who did not even have time to react. On her body appeared multiple scars that grew larger in less than a second. From her body gushed tons of blood, and she then collapsed on the floor.
'NYSIRA!!' thought Bianca as she immediately got closer to the body of her friend, now lying on the ground with multiple scratches. Luckily, none of the blades hit her vital parts, but Nysira was feeling so much pain she could barely get up.
Suddenly, on the left of Abebus, a spike rose from the ground and was about to strike him in the leg. Abebus, taken by surprise, jumped back and created a blade on the ground that took the hit, or at least that's what he thought. But the spike simply passed through the blade. Abebus, scared, did not know what to do, but once the spike hit his body, nothing happened.
He soon realized it was an illusion. Once he turned around, he saw the real spike that struck his leg, creating a hole. Because he was a shadow, no blood dripped from his injury.
Suddenly, Bianca noticed two alterids from Therya, Liro and Allocen, had just joined the fight to help them. Bianca, realizing that she was safer than before, returned to her normal body. She watched Liro and Allocen both with hope in her eyes and a feeling of fear.
"Bring her to Tauren, he already helped Jaune," said Liro calmly as both he and Allocen started to walk toward Abebus, who lay on the ground with a hole in his leg. He could barely get up, and noticing the two humans getting closer, he felt scared. Bianca then noticed Tauren coming toward her. 'Finally…' thought her as she felt relieved that help had finally arrived.
"Let's take care of him, Allocen," said Liro. Allocen simply nodded. Abebus remained still and used the invisible fragments once again toward Allocen. But they had no effect, in fact, Allocen simply dodged them once the fragments became visible. Abebus was extremely shocked, but Liro felt the same way too, wondering how Allocen was able to do that.
Abebus felt scared. As he tried to step back, a spike erupted from the ground. Abebus, reacting fast, created a blade that started to vibrate and sent the spike back toward Allocen, who got stabbed in his left arm, but it wasn't anything too serious.
Suddenly the wall collapsed, and behind it there were multiple spikes. Pierced by them was Abebus's body, which could not move anymore. The moment it disappeared, Kael joined the battlefield too, bringing Sappho by her hair. He then threw her into the battlefield in front of the two humans.
"You were fast, Kael," said Liro in a calm voice. Sappho watched them with fear in her eyes; she did not know what to do.
"Yeah… she didn't even find a good place to hide," answered Kael. Sappho tried to run away, but the gravity on her body became four times stronger. She was pushed onto the ground, blood dripping from her skin.
Luckily, she had become a sort of Human-Krukin, or else she would have passed out from that. Then the three humans walked toward her, ready to make her answer some questions and gain information. But suddenly a purple portal opened right in front of the humans and behind Sappho. From it, a voice came out.
"Hey Sappho, have you finished? The attack on Yalemba is ready, it will happen in like a mont—" the voice stopped as the one who came out realized what was happening: Sappho, right under him, extremely injured, and the three humans who had seen the portal opening and got into a defensive pose.
The one who came out of the portal was Anacreon, who first glanced over the humans, then at Sappho, then back at the humans and Sappho again before realizing what was happening.
"AHHHH!!" shouted him as he created a portal right under Nysira, who disappeared, probably to a safer place. Allocen reacted almost immediately by creating a spike from the ground that reached over Anacreon to hit him, but he retreated back into the portal, and it closed. The spike hit the air, as no one else was there anymore, just the wind that the spike created.
