After leaving the body on the roof, Octavia generated some fire under her own feet and she started to jump threateningly. "Do you want it back, little eagle?" asked Octavia playfully as Vane just reached her, both of them standing on two different roofs.
"Give it back!!" shouted Vane as he immediately hardened his body and started to fly towards the woman, who, thanks to the fire under her feet, was able to jump really high. As Vane noticed that, he immediately stopped, surprised by the sudden attack.
"I'LL TAKE YOU!!" shouted the woman as she was about to fall right on top of Vane's body. Vane, noticing Octavia about to fall right on top of him, dived to the ground, gaining a lot of speed. The people in the houses, scared, got away from the windows and closed them.
As Vane was diving down, Octavia almost touched him with the fire under her feet, but right before touching the ground, Vane changed direction and, thanks to the speed gained, was able to fly at extreme speed. Octavia, on the other hand, slammed her feet really hard on the ground.
The fire created a lot of smoke; it was basically impossible to see from there. 'I need to get ready… she's coming!!' thought Vane as he saw some fire on the ground through the smoke. Suddenly Octavia came out of the smoke with her feet full of fire.
"I'll take you!!!" shouted her as she moved her right foot, about to give a kick to Vane. As her foot moved mid-air, the fire left a beautiful trail mid-air. Luckily, Vane was able to turn into a polar bear at the last second and hardened his body as much as he could, about to take the hit.
With one of his paws, Vane was able to block her right leg. Octavia smirked. Vane was sweating, wondering what was about to happen. Octavia was with her two hands on the ground and her two feet mid-air with fire under them. Suddenly, with her hands on the ground, she was able to make her whole body rotate. Suddenly, her right leg was not hitting Vane anymore, it was the left one!
'I have to be fast!!' thought Vane as he blocked the other kick, but it was simply a bait! Octavia changed again, and with both her feet hit Vane in the stomach. Without the possibility to defend himself, he was pushed back; his body slammed against a fountain, totally destroying it.
"It isn't over yet!!!" shouted Octavia as she rushed towards Vane, who didn't even have time to react and was about to get hit by the fire from the woman's feet. Around them, the seedlings were scared and stayed away because of the fire.
Octavia jumped up, her feet literally burning with fire. Vane glanced up at the sky; he literally saw a demon about to crash on top of him. Without being able to do anything more, he simply closed his eyes, hoping for something to happen.
Suddenly Octavia was hit with multiple ice shards. "Come here, Vane!!" shouted Liro. Vane turned human again and started to rush towards his two friends that had arrived to help him.
"Thank you, guys!!" shouted Vane. Suddenly he switched places with Darian, who created armor on his body, able to take all the hits. 'I hope this ice will be able to resist this much heat…' thought Darian as he walked slowly forward, ready to fight against Octavia.
Some minutes before…
Liro and Darian heard the scream Vane made and immediately turned towards it. "Let's go, Darian!!" shouted Liro as he started to run towards the sound of the voice. Snowy fused with Darian's body, and he started to run.
"Liro… but isn't fire magic only able to throw fireballs and stuff like that? Can she be an Alterid thanks to the fact she puts fire under her feet?" asked Darian as they started to run. Around the street, no seedlings were around.
"No, no… she isn't an Alterid, but people can choose how to control their magic, and Octavia is an example," answered Liro as they both kept running. The sound of the battlefield was getting closer.
"What she does requires a lot of training… she will be a really hard opponent, Darian… but I have something in mind!" added Liro as they almost reached the battlefield. They noticed Vane thrown against the fountain and Octavia jumping on him with fire under her feet.
"Darian, shoot multiple shards and wait until I call your name!" shouted Liro as Darian shot multiple ice shards towards her.
Now Darian had just created a small armor, and Octavia was there, watching him with her demonic eyes. She slowly charged up the fire under her feet.
Suddenly she rushed towards Darian. Octavia threw herself at a really high speed. Darian didn't use any spell; right now, he had the armor, many spells wouldn't be useful. First, he wanted to defend himself. So once Octavia threw herself at Darian, he was able to dodge the hit really easily.
But Octavia didn't stop. In fact, realizing that she completely missed Darian, she rotated mid-air and faced him again. As her feet touched the house wall behind her, she gave herself a strong push to move even faster. "I'LL TAKE YOU NOWW!!" shouted her. Darian remained silent and jumped back while Octavia moved her leg, about to hit him.
Octavia, realizing she had missed again, remained still. 'I didn't even hit him once… how is this possible…' thought her as she breathed heavily, thinking of the next thing to do. Octavia glanced around with her eyes; she noticed Liro and Vane, who were simply still, Vane trying to recover and Liro helping him.
'I'm sure the fire under my feet almost hit him…' thought her as she remained confused. With the last kick she gave, her fire almost touched Darian's multiple-shard armor. so why didn't it break?
'It feels like he's there, but at the same moment he isn't really there…' thought Octavia as more fire appeared under her feet once again. Darian didn't choose to shoot any shards, just waiting for her to arrive.
As Octavia threw herself once again towards her enemy, Darian simply jumped back. It felt like he was baiting her, he wanted to bring Octavia somewhere. As he kept jumping, he arrived right where the fountain was destroyed; the water was all around, and both of them remained in the water, but Octavia noticed it.
'Once he got into the water, the liquid didn't even flinch!!' thought her as she suddenly heard a scream, "FREEZE HER, DARIAN!!" shouted Liro as the fake Darian in front of Octavia disappeared. Darian appeared on top of a roof.
"RADIAL FREEZEEE!!!" shouted him as the water under Octavia became ice, and Octavia's feet got stuck. She could not move them anymore, so she chose to remain still while watching the ground.
"Should we kill her?" asked Vane as the group got closer to her. Now they were fully able to block her. The woman remained still and didn't do anything.
"It's better that we question her first," said Liro as he got in front of her, without even being scared that she might try something. "Just answer this and we might free you… where is your base?" asked him with a serious tone. Octavia remained silent.
"Move, Liro… I'll take care of this now," said Vane as he noticed that the woman remained silent. He got in front of her and threw a strong punch at her stomach. She felt the pain but didn't even move.
"NOW YOU'LL ANSWER US!!!" shouted Vane as he slammed his hand on her face. Octavia simply didn't move.
'Woah, Vane can get a bit rough sometimes…' thought Darian as he glanced at Octavia's feet, but he saw some gas coming out from there. 'Wait… if that is gas…' thought Darian as he realized something — the gas was because the ice completely evaporated under her flames' heat!
"GET AWAY, VANE!!" shouted him, but it was already too late. All the ice immediately melted, and she kicked Vane really hard, throwing him away. Darian, behind him, found himself in the path of Vane, and he also got pushed back.
Their bodies crashed against the wall of a house, almost destroying it. Liro was the only one who remained in front of Octavia. "I won't let you get away!" whispered her as she kicked Liro really powerfully; he wasn't able to do anything to save himself.
"I would love to kill you… especially you, animal guy… but I'll have to wait," said Octavia as she jumped really high and landed on the roof where the statue of the man was located.
"My boss wants this statue… but soon this whole city will become a beautiful garden," whispered her. None of the group could hear her. "Stop… you won't get away…" said Vane while his whole body cried out in pain. The woman gave him one last glance before jumping away with the statue in her hands.
"Guys…" said Darian while his whole head hurt. He had just slammed into a really strong wall and felt really dizzy. As he glanced around, he noticed something that made him feel really sad, Liro was hit in his stomach by one of Octavia's kicks before, and he wasn't moving; he remained on the ground.
"LIRO!!!" shouted Darian as he immediately rushed towards his friend, who was lying on the ground. Vane followed him. They were both really scared, knowing that Liro wasn't someone who could take a hit like that.
As they rotated his body, they noticed a mark on it, the kick completely charred a part of his skin, probably some organs inside his body too. They didn't know if he was still alive, but they had to bring him somewhere safer really fast… or it might be the end for him.
"We have to go, Vane… help me," said Darian as he grabbed Liro's body. Vane turned into a buffalo, waiting for Darian and Liro to get on him. Once Darian sat down with Liro's body on his shoulder, he immediately rushed towards the Veilguards' building, hoping that Lara would be there.
"Liro, please…" thought Darian as he watched his friend in total pain. He wasn't even moving his eyes; he was probably unconscious.
