Darian was again in the weird-looking white room he found himself in before. Right now Snowy wasn't there; he was just floating around, scared.
"What is this place…" whispered Darian. He had randomly woken up again here and he kept floating around without any destination; the room was always the same.
"It feels like I have already been here… but I can't remember," murmured him as he kept floating around. Suddenly behind him the white room started to destroy itself, the white parts slowly cracking. The moment Darian turned back, behind him the darkness was about to take him.
"AHHHHH!" shouted Darian, scared. He tried to move faster, but the darkness took him. The white space disappeared and Darian felt like he was falling down; his body was no longer able to float, he was just falling, his hand trying to reach up in vain.
Suddenly Darian woke up.
'Where am I…' thought him as he looked around the room, which was really dark. He looked over his hand and touched his body; he was still alive. Darian was currently laying on a bed. As he slowly regained consciousness, he saw that Liro was in the same room as him. He was sitting on a chair near his bed and was resting his head on Darian's legs.
"Liro…" Darian tried to wake Liro up by shaking his head a bit by moving his hands. After a few seconds Liro slowly opened his eyes and he saw Darian awake.
"Darian, you're awakeee!" said him before jumping and immediately hugging Darian, who felt so much pain right after Liro hugged him.
"Liro… ouchh." Darian felt so much pain over his back, so he leaned back on the bed. Liro slowly removed his hands.
"Oh sorry, Darian are you alright? You slept for so many days," said Liro. Darian looked at him confused.
"What do you mean? For how many days was I asleep…" asked Darian as he put his hand over his head, which was hurting so much.
"It was three days," answered Liro. Darian looked scared and surprised.
"This much?! What happened? Were we able to free the city from Gyardibus and Dane?" asked Darian, trying to remember what he did before passing out.
'Me and Vane went around the city… but I can't remember what happened,' thought Darian as his head kept hurting so much he just had to lay back and stop thinking.
"We found you unconscious on the street, there wasn't anyone nearby."
"I can't remember what we did… it felt like my thoughts have been deleted," said Darian as he felt a weird feeling over his body.
'I was transformed with Snowy… I clearly remember that… but why? Did we end up fighting against someone?' thought Darian; his head was just so confused.
"By the way… where is Snowy?!" asked Darian as he looked down his bed, but Snowy wasn't there. As he looked over Liro, he saw a sad expression over his face.
"Snowy, differently than you, hasn't woken up yet…" said him. Snowy was currently laying under Darian's bed; he hadn't woken up yet during these days.
"I hope he's still alive… I feel like he has helped me so much during that fight," said Darian as he looked over his right arm, especially the place where Snowy fused himself, "…more than any other time," finished Darian as he closed his eyes.
"I'm more calm knowing that you're alright… I guess I will return to the dormitories. Tomorrow the doctors will help you return alright," said Liro as he got up, going towards the door.
"Sleep well, Darian," said Liro before closing the door behind him and returning to the Veilguard's building.
'So we were able to win this war…' thought Darian as he looked up at the roof.
'I need to know what happened… why the hell was I transformed in the middle of the street… Maybe someone else knows more.'
'And that weird dream I keep having…' Darian thought about the time he found himself in that weird white room. He remembered that he was there before he passed out, but he couldn't clearly remember what happened.
'I need to find out more about this…' said Darian as he moved his hand up and closed his fist. He knew that it was something really important, something that even saved his life, but still he couldn't figure out what it was.
The following day Darian was woken up by the sound of the door opening.
"Darian, you're awake!" Lara entered the room almost shouting. Darian slowly opened his eyes.
"Lara… yes, I'm doing alright," answered him back as he tried to get up; his body was now hurting less.
"Wait, let me heal you," said Lara as she walked near him and started to heal him with her magic.
"Hey, you can use your magic again?" asked Darian as he felt his body slowly regaining the strength he needed.
"Not much… I'm still really limited, but I do what I can to help injured people like you," answered Lara, smiling.
After a few minutes Darian was doing alright and he was outside the hospital with Snowy curled up in his hands.
"I tried to heal Snowy too… but he didn't wake up," said Lara with a sad look on her face as she slowly patted Snowy.
"Thank you… but I'm sure he is alright and soon he will wake up by himself," said Darian, smiling, trying to reassure Lara who answered with another smile.
"By the way, are you sure you don't need help to get to the Veilguard building?" asked Lara, worried about Darian.
"Don't worry, I can walk by myself. I'm doing alright," said Darian as he started to walk away, waving at Lara, who reassured herself by seeing Darian walking normally.
As Darian entered the Veilguard's building he went directly to the meeting room, where he found Kael, Liro, Vane and Allocen. They were speaking about something, but Darian couldn't hear it because the moment he entered they immediately stopped talking and looked directly at him.
"Ohh Dariann, you're really alright then," said Vane as he got down from the sofa and directly went towards him.
"Yeah… but Snowy is still asleep," said him as he looked directly at the small creature.
"I'm sure he will be alright," said Kael, trying to reassure him. Darian smiled and nodded his head.
"I know."
"By the way, is Alerya here… I need to ask her something," said Darian as he sat down on the sofa next to Liro and Vane. On the other sofa Kael and Allocen were sitting next to each other.
"Alerya is asking if we can go and help Yalemba with the seven sages," answered Vane. Darian looked at him a bit confused.
'Wait… ohh I remember,' thought Darian.
"I completely forgot about that, with all that happened in the city," answered him.
"Don't worry Darian, I did the same," said Vane with a dumb smile. Darian sighed while Liro laughed softly.
"By the way, do you need to ask about the 'fight' you and Vane had?" asked Liro. Darian nodded.
"She doesn't know either; she thinks that you and Vane fought against some seedlings… but that doesn't explain everything," said Kael.
"Didn't you ask the people who lived in the houses nearby?" asked Darian, but Kael nodded.
"We did, but they said that for as much as they can remember, they just saw you two unconscious on the street."
"We have been talking about this while you weren't here… and we weren't able to find any proper solution," said Allocen.
"But like… if we fought against a person, shouldn't the information of the person be written in the same paper that Alerya made us see last time?" asked Darian, even more confused.
"Alerya put the 2 papers in a specific place, but with them there was a blank page too, nothing more and nothing less," said Kael as he went towards the desk of the queen to grab the documents. As he grabbed them, he left them on the small table between the two sofas.
The two papers had the information about Gyardibus and Dane; one was completely blank, nothing was written there.
"As you can see there isn't anything on the third one… Alerya couldn't find a solution either. Maybe she just made a mistake," said Kael as he sat down on the sofa again.
Everyone agreed with him except for Darian, who still looked at the blank paper.
"But what if Alerya wasn't wrong and there was a real third person," said Darian as he looked at the front and back of the blank page in search of something, but he couldn't see anything.
"What do you mean? That can't be possible. We should have… remembered…" said Liro. At the end of the sentence he ended up thinking too—was there really someone else?
"No guys… that can't be possible. We would have remembered it, right Allocen?" said Kael directly to Allocen, who was dubious too.
"Right, but… why is the page about this person cancelled? Doesn't this person wish to be remembered anymore?" said Allocen, trying to find a solution. Kael started to get dubious too; the only one who looked confused in the room was Vane.
"Guys, how should they be able to remove the proof of their existence if it was written here… in the Veilguard room? No one other than us is able to enter. The people don't know either what happened in the battlefield; we just ended up fighting against some seedlings. Maybe we started to transform and as Gyardibus died the process ended?" said Vane. Everyone seemed less dubious now.
"Maybe you're right," said Darian. Everyone else agreed with him.
"By the way… what was their real purpose in the end?" asked Darian, trying to change topic.
"The purpose of Gyardibus was to turn everyone into plant statues and create his own garden… but he got killed by Dane, who had a completely different purpose," said Liro. Allocen corrected him in the last part,
"It wasn't his purpose… the creature was moving him as she liked."
Darian looked very interested as he heard about all this stuff; his eyes were wide open.
"Tell me. Everything."
Allocen sighed and started to tell Darian everything that happened during the battle against Dane.
"Woah… so creatures from other dimensions really exist… but wait, are you saying that he wasn't using any soul because the spider head ate that?" asked Darian. Allocen nodded with a lot of uncertainty.
"This is what we believe. I know it sounds strange to believe," said him.
Darian reassured him, "No don't worry, I believe you…" said him as he looked over Snowy who was sleeping next to him.
'But what if the same thing is happening to him…' thought Darian. Suddenly the door opened and Alerya came inside the room.
"Good, Darian, you're here too," said Alerya as she immediately went over the desk. Everyone turned towards her and started to listen to what she was about to say.
"You told me that soon the krukins will attack Yalemba. If what you said is true, in less than two weeks the attack will happen," Alerya started to explain as she sat down.
"I talked with the seven sages. They said we need the help of the Alterids from Skar-Zhul too. That is why someone will go to Yalemba and someone else will go to Skar-Zhul," said Alerya. "This is what the seven sages told me to do. They said that I can choose how to divide the team, but now 3 of you need to remain here," said Alerya. Everyone looked around wondering who would remain here.
"Vane, Liro and Darian, you three will go to Yalemba. You have already shown that you can work really well together. While the one who will go to Skar-Zhul…" murmured Alerya as she looked over Allocen and Kael.
"Kael will go to Yalemba, while Lara, me and Allocen will remain here. Lara still can't help in the battlefield, I'm the queen and I have to remain here, while Allocen will help me in case someone else will attack the city. You three will go tomorrow; it should take around 4 or 5 days to get to Yalemba. We'd better be fast."
"Perfect, now the meeting is over, you're free to go," said Alerya. Everyone nodded.
"I'm really tired, and because tomorrow we have to go… I'll go rest, guys," said Darian as he grabbed Snowy and walked outside the room before he waved to everyone.
As Darian entered his room he left Snowy on his pillow. Snowy barely used this pillow on the floor, but it was his place to rest. As Darian slowly put him on the pillow he sat down next to him.
"You know, Snowy… it feels like I don't know you very well. Yeah, I studied you with the help of Rusty… but I feel like it isn't enough. I feel like there is something more that I need to find out about you that science can't discover." Snowy didn't reply; he was still sleeping. At the sight of that, Darian could only hope that his friend would wake up soon.
