Chapter 1 - THE DEVIL IN ME

The Devil in One

Chapter 1: Betrayal

Once, she was a goddess.

Now, she is something far worse.

Long before the collapse of order, Aris stood at the peak of existence—a flawless being who ruled over multiple universes. She was not merely divine; she was an absolute, a goddess whose power touched both creation and destruction. Yet that very perfection became her curse.

The gods feared her.

They whispered that her beauty was unnatural, that her presence bent laws, that one day she would surpass them all. And so, before that day could arrive, they branded her with a name that would justify their hatred.

Devil.

Aris was cast down from the Mountain of Eternity—the sacred place where only gods were allowed to exist. The fall stripped her of her title, her honor, and her place among them. But even then, she did not fall alone.

She still had Maki—her closest friend, the one who smiled beside her when the gods turned away.

She still had Icaro—the one she loved, the one she trusted more than her own soul.

Or so she believed.

One day, Maki and Icaro came to visit her in the Pristine Universe, the silent realm where Aris had been exiled. The moment she sensed their presence, her heart trembled with joy.

"You came," Aris said softly, a rare smile touching her lips. "How are you? It's been so long."

Maki looked away.

Icaro said nothing.

After a long silence, Maki finally spoke, her voice cold and distant.

"We're fine. But from now on… you can't see us anymore."

Aris froze.

"What do you mean?" she asked, confusion creeping into her voice. "Did I do something wrong?"

She never received an answer.

The sound came first—a sharp, violent crack that tore through space itself.

Before Aris could react, something pierced her body.

Pain exploded.

She staggered back, blood staining the ground beneath her feet. Her vision blurred as she looked down—and saw the weapon.

It was Icaro's.

Her knees gave way.

"Why…?" Aris whispered, her voice trembling as she collapsed. "Why would you do this?"

Maki stepped forward, her eyes burning with jealousy long buried.

"Why?" she repeated, laughing bitterly. "Do you really think you're the only one allowed to be beautiful? Everyone ignores me. Everyone worships you. So yes—you deserve to die."

Aris coughed, blood staining her lips, yet she smiled.

"Icaro will stop you," she said weakly. "He's the only one I trust."

Maki's smile twisted.

"Then look closely," she said. "Who do you think struck you?"

Aris turned her head slowly.

Their eyes met.

And in that moment, something inside her shattered forever.

Her laughter echoed faintly through the dying universe—not madness, but despair.

"So this is how it ends," Aris whispered. "Very well."

Her consciousness faded, but her will did not.

As darkness consumed her, she spoke one final vow:

"I will return.

I will take my revenge.

And your deaths will not exist even in your dreams."

Her body fell silent.

And the universe believed she was dead.

But death…

was only the beginning.

After Aris's Death

After Aris's death, the celestial–crystalline universe began to collapse in silence.

Stars dimmed. Dimensions trembled. The flow of existence itself became unstable, as if the universe had lost its anchor. In the deepest layer of the infernal order, Saturn, the Lord of all devils, sensed the disturbance immediately.

Something was wrong.

For the first time in countless eras, Saturn left his throne.

But he was late.

Aris lay before him—her once radiant form shattered, her existence barely holding together. Her soul flickered like a dying star, suspended in front of Saturn, torn apart by betrayal and power beyond repair. She was alive… yet already crossing the boundary of death.

Saturn looked at her in silence.

Then he spoke.

"Tell me your final wish."

His voice was calm, but the universe listened.

"You will be reborn," Saturn continued. "In another universe. Another reality. You will have no memories of this place, no pain, no hatred."

Aris's soul trembled.

"No."

Her voice was weak, but her will was not.

"I don't want another universe," she begged. "I don't want to forget. Reborn me in the same universe. Let me remember everything. Let me take my revenge."

For the first time, Saturn hesitated.

Then he sighed.

"…Very well."

A deep vibration echoed through existence.

"Your wish is granted."

A blinding light erupted—so bright it erased shadows, so loud it silenced gods. Aris felt herself being torn apart, rewritten, compressed. Her soul screamed as reality folded around her.

And then—

Darkness.

When she opened her eyes, she was no longer there.

She was somewhere else.

A different place. A different dimension.

For a moment, Aris believed she had been betrayed again—this time by Saturn himself. The world felt unfamiliar, distorted, layered in unfamiliar laws.

But slowly, she realized the truth.

She was still in the same universe.

Just not the same dimension.

To return to the old dimension—the one where her death began—she would need power beyond imagination. Power enough to tear through realities.

Before her stood the path.

Seven islands.

Each one a world of its own.

Each one as vast as a universe.

Each one ruled by forces that devour gods.

Only by conquering all seven could she reclaim her past…

her memories…

and her true name.

Somewhere deep within her new form, Aris smiled.

The universe thought she was erased.

But she was only delayed.

To be continued.

ARIS STRUGGLE TO CONQURE ISLANDS [_______________________]

Aris opened her eyes and saw that she was surrounded by various floating islands. They were hanging in the sky at different heights, slowly moving as if they had their own life. The air felt strange and quiet, and for a moment she just stood there, trying to understand where she was.

She stepped closer to the edge of the island she was standing on and looked around. There was another island not too far away. She prepared herself to step onto it.

But before she could move properly, a pack of wolves suddenly attacked her.

They were not normal wolves. Their bodies were huge and looked unnatural. Their eyes were glowing, and their movements were too fast. These were mutated wolves, not simple creatures.

Aris thought she could still use her powers and defeat them easily. She tried to focus and cast a spell.

Nothing happened.

She tried again, but again there was no response.

Then a strange voice interrupted inside her mind.

"System failure. Powers not activated."

Hearing this, Aris trembled. She knew that in the world of gods and devils, there was a system that guided their abilities. If this message appeared, it meant one thing — she didn't have access to her powers.

Her confidence broke instantly.

The wolves jumped at her.

Just when they were about to reach her, a sword suddenly appeared from nowhere and cut through the air, tearing one wolf's head in half. The attack was so fast that Aris couldn't even see who had done it.

Before the remaining wolves could react, the land under them started shaking. A huge ball made of devil divine hellfire rose up and burned the wolves completely. The flames were dark and powerful, not like normal fire.

Within seconds, everything was over.

An old man then appeared from the ground itself. It was as if the earth allowed him to rise. He looked calm, but there was something very powerful about him.

He looked at Aris and said,

"Oh poor girl, what are you doing here? And what is your name?"

Aris was about to say her real name, but she suddenly remembered that Saturn had warned her not to reveal her previous life name or her true identity.

So she replied,

"I didn't have parents since I was born. My name is Ayane."

The old man looked at her carefully, as if he could see through her words.

"Ayane, you look very weak. Come with me. I will give you food and teach you. I will train you."

Aris hesitated and then asked,

"Who are you?"

The old man replied calmly,

"I am the ruler of the five elements. I am also known as the Elemental King."

Aris was shocked. She had heard about him before when she was still a goddess. He was the one who mastered all the elements and controlled both sides of power.

He was a god… and also half devil.

And now, he was standing right in front of her.

Ch-4 Aris training

The old man who was an Elemental King, whose name was Eldric, brought Aris to his home. His house stood quietly at the edge of a cliff, surrounded by tall trees that whispered with the wind. It didn't look like a king's palace. It was simple — built from stone and wood — but there was something powerful in the air around it.

Eldric gave her food and showed her a small room where she could stay. The room had a narrow bed, a wooden table, and a single window that faced the mountains.

"You look weak," Eldric said in his deep, calm voice. "From tomorrow, I will begin training you in the elemental powers."

Aris nodded. "Thank you."

She ate silently. The food was warm, simple, but filling. After finishing, she lay down on the bed and closed her eyes.

But sleep did not come easily.

Her body was tired, yet her heart burned. The memory of betrayal replayed again and again in her mind. The faces she once trusted. The moment she lost everything. The anger inside her was like fire spreading through dry wood. She stared at the ceiling in the darkness.

I will take my revenge, she promised herself.

Outside, the wind grew stronger, as if it had heard her vow.

Early the next morning, the door suddenly opened.

"You are still sleeping? Get up. Fast," Eldric's voice echoed.

Aris quickly sat up, still half asleep. Before she could even respond, cold water splashed across her face.

She gasped. "What was that for?!"

Eldric lowered his hand calmly. "Water is gentle when calm… and ruthless when needed. Remember that."

Still annoyed, Aris got up and went to wash properly. After bathing, she walked toward the table where breakfast was placed.

Just as she reached for it, Eldric stopped her.

"You cannot eat until your training is complete."

Aris frowned but pulled her hand back.

Eldric looked at her carefully. "Tell me. Which element do you want to train first?"

There was no hesitation in her answer.

"Fire."

For a brief moment, something unreadable flashed in Eldric's eyes. Then he nodded.

"Very well."

The air around him began to move. Wind gathered at his feet, swirling in a circular motion. His robes fluttered violently as the wind thickened, twisting into a spinning vortex beside him.

From within the vortex, a strange portal began to form — dark at its center, glowing faintly around the edges.

Aris stared at it. "What is this?"

"It leads to another dimension," Eldric replied calmly. "A place where gods and devils observe. A place closer to the origin of fire."

Aris felt a strange sensation in her chest. So she was still in the same universe… just stepping into another layer of it.

This could make her stronger.

But as she looked at her reflection faintly forming in the portal's surface, she noticed something. Her appearance felt different here. Lighter. Almost unfamiliar.

And she could feel it clearly.

She had no powers.

"Where are you?" Eldric asked suddenly.

Aris blinked. "Oh… nothing."

Eldric stepped closer to the portal. "This path will lead us to Hell. That is where you will train for Hellfire."

Hell.

The word alone carried weight.

Without another word, Eldric stepped forward. Aris followed.

The moment she crossed the portal, the world shifted.

The ground beneath her feet trembled. The sky turned dark crimson, heavy with smoke. The air felt hotter — thicker — harder to breathe.

Somewhere in the distance, flames roared like living creatures.

And then she felt it.

A presence.

Ancient. Watching.

Not just one — many.

Far above, beyond what her eyes could see, gods sensed the disturbance. Devils paused in their endless conflicts. The arrival of an Elemental King had not gone unnoticed.

Figures began to gather.

When they arrived, however, they did not see a terrifying warrior.

They saw only a girl standing beside Eldric.

The gods greeted Eldric with respect. "Elemental King."

Their eyes shifted toward Aris.

"Who is this girl?"

Eldric's expression did not change. "Her name is Ayane."

Aris remained silent.

"She has no parents," Eldric continued calmly. "She is weak. I brought her here for fire training."

The gods observed her carefully. She could feel their gaze pressing against her skin.

"She does not look like much," one of them said.

Eldric simply replied, "Appearances deceive."

There was a brief silence.

Then one of the gods nodded. "Very well. Continue."

The watching figures slowly disappeared, their presence fading back into the shadows of that burning world.

Aris finally exhaled.

This was it.

Hell itself would be her training ground.

And the fire that once burned inside her heart… would soon become something far more powerful.

After the gods withdrew, the hall felt wrong—too quiet, as if the world itself was holding its breath. The scorched pillars still radiated divine residue, and the air tasted of ash and judgment. Eldric turned toward her, his shadow stretching unnaturally long across the cracked stone.

"Ayane," he said slowly, "before you walk any further down this path, you must learn to balance the fire within your body."

Aris stared at him, unease crawling up her spine. "Balance… fire?" she repeated. "How am I supposed to control something I can't even understand?"

Eldric's expression didn't soften. If anything, it grew colder.

"You will remain inside the device—Hellfire—for two hours."

Her breath caught. "What?" Aris shouted, fear finally breaking through. "That thing was made to punish gods and devils alike! I'll be reduced to nothing!"

"Step forward," Eldric replied, his voice flat, almost merciless. "If you survive, you learn. If you don't—then you were never meant to exist."

The flames roared louder as she approached, divine hellfire twisting like chained serpents. Aris hesitated only once before stepping inside.

She waited for pain.

It never came.

Instead of burning, the fire wrapped around her like a forgotten embrace. Heat flowed through her veins, not as destruction, but as recognition. Her heartbeat slowed. Her fear dissolved. And then—it surfaced.

A scent.

Ancient. Rotten with time. Sweet and cruel.

A fragrance older than the gods themselves.

Memories stirred deep within her soul—of crimson skies, screaming realms, and a throne carved from bone and sin. A time when she had not been weak. When she had not been human.

When she had been a devil.

Outside the device, Eldric stood frozen. His blood ran cold.

The divine hellfire wasn't resisting her.

It was bowing.

The ground suddenly convulsed. Stone shattered as a violent presence tore its way upward. From the depths emerged Saturn, his arrival cracking the earth like a dying scream. His eyes burned as he inhaled sharply.

"That scent…" he growled. "An ancient devil… one that should not exist."

He searched the hall—then stopped.

Before him stood Eldric… and a girl.

Just a girl.

Yet the fire parted around her like servants before a queen.

Saturn's expression twisted in disbelief. "Impossible," he muttered. "That fire erases existence itself."

Aris's eyes snapped open.

A voice echoed inside her mind—cold, mechanical, and absolute.

"System notification."

"Authority recognized."

"Elemental dominion: Fire — Mastered."

Eldric staggered back, horror flooding his face.

It had taken him two years to withstand Hellfire.

She had conquered it in minutes.

The god of hell the devils 😈 were shocked 😲
